Can anyone tell me why Paul Caddis - a right back was played up front for Dundee Utd on Saturday? He did alright, but its not like DU are short of strikers - seemed an odd one in my book.
-
The fact is the pitch cost us another two goals on Saturday. A better surface and I am sure Sheridan and Sutton would have slotted those two chances away. The ball bobbling along caused them to take an extra second on hitting the shot. This pitch will bite us on the arse at some point this season. Luckily though we have been getting the rub of the green so to speak!

I must confess to listening to the show in car on the way home from work quite a lot. The formula of the show is quite simple. Ewen reads the Daily Record or The Sun an hour before the show starts, shuts his eyes and points at whatever story his finger lands on. This then becomes the topic for the day. Ewen then antogonises the public listening by taking one side and Alan Rough will take the other side. An argument will then occur. The producers then screen the calls and the usual punter is an Old Firm fan who is maybe drunk or shouting down their phone. Ewen and Roughy then slag them off and the process continues. Sometimes they bring on a caller with more than an ounce of intelligence and they might say something sensible which will cause Ewen to crack a joke as he is incapable of having a well rounded debate. The show usually ends with Roughy confused about something and Ewen doing his Mutley laugh usually at the expense of another caller. Its like Haribo sweets - addictive, but has no substance.

If he stays fit and works his way into the first team then he is the ideal replacement for either Craigan or Quinn. He excelled at right back while Quinn was out after the gypsy hay-bailer he got.

You are skating on thin ice young lad.

I am giving the club feck all in regards to the pitch. They should have fixed this in the summer and they didn't so to expect me to raise money for the clubs mistakes is a no no. Anyway I am starting to like our wee 'sand trap' - the more we get used to it then the more chance we have against other teams. Roll on Europe - would love to play Juventus on that park! Ibrahimavic will shite himself!

Just send this to Darryl Braodfoot: So Darryl, We are a grumpy impertinent bunch are we? For what? Having the audacity to shout when one of our players gets stuck in or even shout at the ref for one of his numerous bad decisions yesterday. But you just ignore Celtic fans singing about the death of Davie Cooper and almost causing a full scale riot in the Cooper stand due to one of them stealing a pork pie? Usually I don't mind your writing Darryl, but if you are going to insult one set of fans make sure you pull up the other for their shocking behavior and not just us for being 'grumpy'. By the way I had a great time yesterday and left with a smile on my face! Peter

Klimpl for me. He had Scott Brown and Nakamura shiting themselves all game!
-
I noticed some major trouble in the Cooper with at least 6 people being chucked out and a fair few punches being thrown by Celtic fans so its no suprise there was trouble after the game. The Celtic fans should be held back 20 minutes or so until the East and Main stands are cleared out. They can't take a beating or it seems even a draw - the c***s!
-
I think he is just a bad ref who gets caught up in the game too much and starts to panic. You could see it in his face that he wasn't coping to well. Overall though I have seen much much worse at Fir Park.
-
Yeah I did. Hughes and Fitzy should have both stayed on the park as both are better than Smith. He was playing because he is an effective midfielder who broke up most of St Mirrens attacks on the left side. Oooh getting personal now? Aren't you the big man! He almost scored a total peach and made some brilliant runs most of the game. Also he is a midfielder - how many shots on average should he be getting? Agree that Jim was a threat. Sheridan had a poor first half, but thought he did really well in the second. Clarky had a shocker all night. He kept Dorman quiet, but some of his passing was very poor. He seemed to be slicing it all the time. Too much Slovak Vodka? Here we go again! Why not get stuck into Quinn or Clarky too. They played much worse than Fitzy? I'll tell you why - cos he has done nothing to merit a start. He is slow and has no impact when he comes on. Sheridan at least looks a threat and with a bit of luck could have got a goal last night. St Mirren played the perfect stifiling game last night and Gus McPherson got his tactics spot on - he stopped us playing and he played the counter attack. The odd goal was going to win it. Now does that not make more sense than coming on here and starting a totally pish rant that makes no sense?

The sad thing is our chances of getting a decent league position are badly affected due to our own penny pinching as this pitch has affected the way we play and will not improve for the rest of the season. Thats my main gripe about all of this. By side stepping the problem we have created a much bigger one.

The State Of The Park........stadium Grow Light Concept.

We need a roof! -
The whole thing is a mess. That USH should have been fixed and was not. Instead they spend a fortune on a bouncy castle which seems to keep the pitch from frosting, but by turning into a farmers top field. The lights have been on and off all week to get this game with Hamilton on. See what happens when you cut corners Motherwell? You get fucked over!

Its supposed to be baltic for the rest of the week - will the Under Boyle Heating be working or not............

It's a decent signing from McGhee to stregthen until the end of the season, but we all hope that our number one partnership will be Clarky and Sutton who are both our players and on long term deals. If they can form a strong partnership then Sheridan will probably get a few sub apperances and start if anyone is injured. Same with the Turkish lad, Jim O'Brien is our first pick on the left - lets hope he keeps up his decent form and stays there.
-
Worth a punt on loan - good cover for Clarky. Good signing IMO
-
I totally understand what you are saying, but it still doesn't get away from the fact that there might not be any quality players out there. Lets wait until 5pm before jumping to conclusions. I feel that Teale was the replacement for Porter and that fell through.
-
Well give us some suggestions? What players out there would come in and replace either Clarky, Sutton or Murphy (Within our budget)
-
I cannot for the life of me believe that fans are pissed of because McGhee can't get the play he wants! I think people just expected McGhee to be able to sign players at will. We have a good squad - in fact one of the better SPL squads - considering the strength on the bench.
-
What do you want him to do? Just sign players cos we should? If there is nothing out there than whats the point. Most of the Scottish clubs have lost their top players in the last few days - including us while bringing in no-one. If thats not a sign that there is no money in Scottish football then what other signs do you need? Celtic getting outbid by Cardiff for Fletcher. Rangers struggling to get loan deals etc? This is reality - not Football Manager!
-
I doubt we will sign anyone. Teale was the rabbit in the hat and he has vanished....

Aye the deep freeze is coming!

A large amount of it is down to ignorance and a false impression of football. A massive percentage of the people I have sat around during my years watching Motherwell have no idea how the game should be played. Most want the ball to go forward, players to run with the ball, perfect 50 yards passes to be executed and more. It doesn't work like that and people don't appreciate this. Its doesn't help that we are constantly bombarded with La Liga, Serie A and Premiership football - fans see this and expect the same at Fir Park. Personally I feel the abuse Fitzpatrick and Fagan have endured from our own fans is disgraceful - look at Fitzpatrick now with a bit of confidence behind him? Totally new player and a justified first team starter. One other thing is how quiet a fan base we have become. Like it almost rude to sing for longer than 10 seconds - then plonk back into your seat and moan. So aye bottom six - we are not as bad as St Mirren fans and never will be. EDIT - add to this Jim O'Brien - who was after 5 minutes on the park the new East Stand victim, he has held his head up and stuck two fingers up to all his doubters and is showing he is a great young player with bags of potential. We are far to quick to judge. Another thing is Ritchie Foran - a totally shite player, but loved by a section of our support cos he 'got intae them' - nothing to do with skill - it was just cos he was a bit of a nutter and got drunk! Crazy!
-
Maybe, but name me someone better that A - we can afford or B - have the pace and delivery?
