  1. It's a decent signing from McGhee to stregthen until the end of the season, but we all hope that our number one partnership will be Clarky and Sutton who are both our players and on long term deals. If they can form a strong partnership then Sheridan will probably get a few sub apperances and start if anyone is injured. Same with the Turkish lad, Jim O'Brien is our first pick on the left - lets hope he keeps up his decent form and stays there.
  2. Worth a punt on loan - good cover for Clarky. Good signing IMO
  3. I totally understand what you are saying, but it still doesn't get away from the fact that there might not be any quality players out there. Lets wait until 5pm before jumping to conclusions. I feel that Teale was the replacement for Porter and that fell through.
  4. Well give us some suggestions? What players out there would come in and replace either Clarky, Sutton or Murphy (Within our budget)
  5. I cannot for the life of me believe that fans are pissed of because McGhee can't get the play he wants! I think people just expected McGhee to be able to sign players at will. We have a good squad - in fact one of the better SPL squads - considering the strength on the bench.
  6. What do you want him to do? Just sign players cos we should? If there is nothing out there than whats the point. Most of the Scottish clubs have lost their top players in the last few days - including us while bringing in no-one. If thats not a sign that there is no money in Scottish football then what other signs do you need? Celtic getting outbid by Cardiff for Fletcher. Rangers struggling to get loan deals etc? This is reality - not Football Manager!
  7. I doubt we will sign anyone. Teale was the rabbit in the hat and he has vanished....
  8. Aye the deep freeze is coming!
  9. A large amount of it is down to ignorance and a false impression of football. A massive percentage of the people I have sat around during my years watching Motherwell have no idea how the game should be played. Most want the ball to go forward, players to run with the ball, perfect 50 yards passes to be executed and more. It doesn't work like that and people don't appreciate this. Its doesn't help that we are constantly bombarded with La Liga, Serie A and Premiership football - fans see this and expect the same at Fir Park. Personally I feel the abuse Fitzpatrick and Fagan have endured from our own fans is disgraceful - look at Fitzpatrick now with a bit of confidence behind him? Totally new player and a justified first team starter. One other thing is how quiet a fan base we have become. Like it almost rude to sing for longer than 10 seconds - then plonk back into your seat and moan. So aye bottom six - we are not as bad as St Mirren fans and never will be. EDIT - add to this Jim O'Brien - who was after 5 minutes on the park the new East Stand victim, he has held his head up and stuck two fingers up to all his doubters and is showing he is a great young player with bags of potential. We are far to quick to judge. Another thing is Ritchie Foran - a totally shite player, but loved by a section of our support cos he 'got intae them' - nothing to do with skill - it was just cos he was a bit of a nutter and got drunk! Crazy!
  10. Maybe, but name me someone better that A - we can afford or B - have the pace and delivery?
  11. Hammell has setup about three of our goals in the last few games. Not many better left backs in Scotland. So get aff his back!
  12. I'm not blaming the Locos here. I am defending you, so don't go all arsey! I don't know why Motherwell didn't arrange for then? Would it have made any difference.
  13. If the game ends up screwing up the St Mirren game - when does that then get played? And if its not a Saturday do the SFA re pay the money lost from making it a mid week game? People seem to be side stepping the SFA here - they are the one who let the Locos into the Scottish Cup, but have not helped them one bit in terms of trying to get this pitch playable. Also their whole Rangers argument from last year is bollocks - that was down to the SPL allowing Rangers time to prepare for their riots in Manchester in the Euro Cup!
  14. They keep going until Keith Lasleys beard goes grey. Thats the criteria for the SFA.
  15. If the SFA or whoever it is that runs the Scottish Cup are going to allow Highland League teams into the cup then they need to show much more support to then in getting these games on. Most of the small teams will play the games in the winter and will have little chance of getting the games on due to just having a basic pitch with no under soil heating. The SFA should be footing a bill to help the Locos in getting this game going. What would have been their biggest ever game has turned into a complete joke and now they will suffer the most. Once again the SFA have not thought this through - is that a suprise?
  16. I didn't even know that Jim O'Brien was Scottish - I really did think he was an Irish lad. As long as he plays well for Motherwell I don't give a toss. And the same goes for McGeady, McArthay et all.
  17. Look at that crowd! Magic!
  18. No wonder Scottish fitbaw is in the mess it is when you read that. Crazy doesn't even come close!
  19. He did it last season - saying we needed 10 points or something after the split and he was spot on! We got the required points and then some. Its just his method and it worked last season. If Aberdeen, Hearts and Dundee Utd stay as consistent as they have been then I doubt we can get anywhere near 3rd place, but I certainly think we can make the top 6.
  20. Nice one - made me chuckle!
  21. Thats the problem here. The more its cancelled the less will come - I can't see much past 100 punters going up there now. They should just schedule the Saturday of the next round and then we can play St Mirren (if we win) on a week night. And if it can't be played at Harlow then move it to a neutral ground that both fans can get to easily. Simple!
  22. So we play on Saturday then travel up to Inverurie and play on the Monday - is that fair? Their pitch can't cope with this cold weather which is fair enough as its just a basic pitch with no under soil heating, but this can't continue can it? There must be a cut off point when a new venue has to be used.
  23. Aye good signing. Still young and will hopefully challenge Smith - It was never really going to work with loan keepers all the time.
  24. Well it looks very unlikly that we can afford him on a permanant deal then. Seems strange that a Danish side would pay so much for a player only to then ship him out on loan. If he does well for the rest of the season then you would think that they would take him back in a flash.
  25. This game is never going to happen in January with the current weather. When does Pittodrie become a viable option?
