  1. Wouldn't be a bad move, he's impressed so far in his short stint.
  2. There's no need to get hung up on a mere statement of fact for goodness sake. Like I said in the next post, our last match there was ten years ago so doesn't have much bearing or effect on what's going to happen on Sunday. It will be a difficult game, that's the point I'm making, regardless of what our previous record there is. I think we'll struggle and won't be surprised if we lose, I might be right and I might be wrong but my balls aren't made of crystal so I'm only guessing...just like everyone else is. I shall say no more on the subject until after the game now.
  3. We've lost our last three league matches there, scoring none and conceding six in the process. Granted, the last time we played them there was ten years ago this month and therefore doesn't have much bearing on Sundays game but the point that we tend to struggle at Firhill still stands. It's not an easy ground to get a result from and the home crowd tend to be noisy and right on top of the pitch and I can see that being a factor.
  4. If we were to get four wins on the trot it would be a sensational end to a month that started so badly for us. However I reckon we'll struggle here as Thistle are probably one of the better bottom six sides and we tend to struggle at Firhill. I can see them winning 2-0 here sadly.
  5. Fantastic result and well played Motherwell. Make no mistake about it, that was a massive result for us and it seems that we have turned the corner slightly. McCall and the players have been rightly given criticism this season for poor performances and results against the 'top six' clubs but they deserve to take credit for today so a very well done to them and a great day for us.
  6. Last minute equaliser for Aberdeen anyone?
  7. We're getting nothing but pumped here. It'll be a long time before we beat this lot again I reckon. 5-1 to them.
  8. From what I've seen of him playing against us for Hearts when he was there, he certainly doesn't look any worse than what we've already got.
  9. And Celtic have lifted the 'suspension' on the 128 fans that they suspended for the damage at Fir Park. No surprise really, like I said on here a couple of weeks back, their vows to take action was nothing more than lip service. http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/news/article5339147.ece
  10. We need to 'kick on' now and push for as high a league finish as possible. We have largely been poor this season and our results and performances against the top six especially but also in games in which we've managed to win against the bottom six completely supports that view. Today was easily the best result of the season for us and its crucial now that we take confidence from this and continue to improve in both results and performances.
  11. Or maybe not. A convincing win AND a clean sheet, well I never. Great result and thoroughly deserved. McCall and the players have received plenty of pelters over the past three weeks, and rightly so, but they've bounced back today with an excellent result. Well done Motherwell.
  12. About time we gave those Paisley boneheids a good seeing to at Fir Park, so very enjoyable viewing!! Bet we still give them a goal though...
  13. I reckon that these two arrests aren't for the seat damage or anything that happened inside the ground. This is more likely for something that happened before or after the game given that there was trouble in the town centre on the night and it's a fan from each side that's been collared.
  14. Think we'll struggle as we always do against St.Mirren at home. Either 1-1 or 1-0 to them.
  15. From what I've heard and the highlights it sounded like a game of two halfs between two poor sides and we can consider ourselves fortunate to have won. However we did win and that's the most important thing as we badly needed a result after the past couple of weeks. Hopefully this will give us a bit of confidence going into the festive period.
  16. That can't be true surely? I mean according to some folk on here we have the most fickle, ungrateful and rash fans in the game. It's only Motherwell fans who would be annoyed at recent poor form, poor summer signings and want a change of manager is it not? Doesn't their forum have members on hand to remind them of the bad old days and how they have no right to criticise given where they were say, ten years ago???
  17. Step in the right direction I suppose. Hopefully more arrests follow and more Celtic bastards get what's coming to them.
  18. Look mate I don't and never have denied that I dislike Celtic and do so far more than I do Rangers. I find their support and the attitudes of their club utterly objectionable. They portray themselves as being holier than thou, pious and believe that they are untouchable. Yet at the same time display behaviour like they did on Friday night, and on many other occasions. And then to make matters worse they justify it by claiming that they are some sort of oppressed, down trodden victims and freedom fighters. That sort of hypocrisy turns my stomach. So yes, I immensely dislike them and what happened on Friday night coupled with the attitude I described above completely justified that in my view. And yes, had this been Rangers/The Rangers or anyone else then I would not have such strong a feeling about it. I cannot stand hypocritical shit stirrers who get free reign to do what they like by the authorities yet still have the brass neck to claim that they are victims.
  19. Give them a chance mate ffs! I mean they're still trying to find out who threw a missile at Fernando Ricksen in an Old Firm game nine years ago so you can't expect instant results with this one.
  20. Fair play fuck all. They said exactly the same thing after the 'Bloostained Poppies' incident and after their 'Fuck UEFA' banner, that they would ban ex amount, and the same group, led by the same people are still peddling their shite three years on. There was even some trumpet that they claimed they banned for waving an IRA flag who was openly boasting on twitter earlier this year about how he still attends Celtic park regularly. Actions speak louder than words so as long as incidents like Friday night, Amsterdam, the Bobby Sands/William Wallace banner, Dens Park, Tynecastle and so on keep happening then all this latest 'vow to ban' is is nothing more lip service.

  22. A game against Hibs in December 2011 was abandoned due to an electrical fire in the floodlight generators in the South Stand.
  23. So the Green Brigade took over almost the entire lower tier, that's according to a Celtic fan who was there, yet they still can't admit that they were responsible? Laughable. Also, there were hundreds of them standing on both aisles either side of the lower central section so it was clear that there were hundreds of folk down there who didn't have tickets for that part of the stand. Think back to a previous Friday night match at Fir Park against Hibs which was abandoned due to a fire in that stand. Had a similar occurrence happened on Friday there there would have been absolute carnage trying to evacuate the South stand and Motherwell FC would no doubt have got the blame for it for allowing folk to stand and block the aisles etc.
  24. I'm just surprised they didn't try and claim it was Rangers fans infiltrating their support who were the culprits. I really wouldn't put anything past Celtic and their support.
  25. It's quite simply a case of the authorities picking on the easiest targets and not having the gumption or the balls to do anything about the Celtic support when they're grouped together in that number. When it's smaller crowds they won't hesitate to intervene. Remember a game against the Deadco two years ago when about 10 police and stewards ran into the east stand to remove a 12 year old boy for waving a banner which said ' h u ns'? That's the level of their action, but when they have to take more serious measures, forget it.
