  1. Not a prayer. Right now we need to concentrate on not being shite all the time because that's what we've been all season.
  2. There are no guarantees in football but looking at our next few fixtures and the way we are playing then I just don't see where points are coming from. We look easy prey for just about every side in the division just now and there is no light at the end of the tunnel. As things stand, we would be playing 'The Rangers' in the relegation playoff in the mother of all nightmare scenarios for because although, as I said, there are no guarantees in football, we all know how that would pan out for us. If I was a betting man I'd be sticking a huge wad of cash on us losing to that mob in the playoffs this season.
  3. In answer to the thread title question, yes we do need a new manager but that is the least of what we need. We as a club, on and off the park are a sinking ship and need drastic overhaul at all levels. Who is making the big decisions now that Dempster has moved on? What are the plans should the Well Society fail (as it looks like it will)? What about our non existent youth structure which is simply not producing players? All of this needs addressed or we will only go one way as a club and that is down the way.
  4. McCall is great at talking a good game after dreadful results but sadly it seems that that's all it is...talk. He never, ever learns any lessons from previous mistakes and that is why we constantly fall at the first hurdle in cup ties or in big games. In previous seasons we've had a bit of luck and squad confidence on our side to keep us ticking over but both have now gone and a run like this has been coming for well over a year now.
  5. We've been on a poor run of form, confidence is down and the players need their manager around during this break to oversee the attempts to improve our fortunes. Don't like it, don't read it. Simple.
  6. That he shouldn't be anywhere near the Scotland squad and that by doing so he is neglecting what should be his number one priority.
  7. 2-0 Dundee as the free fall continues.
  8. The entire club needs overhauled starting with the manager because we are in free fall under him and are paying the price for his one dimensional approach resulting in his failure to cope with losing a player or two to injury and also for his poor transfer performances in the last two summers and his non youth policy. Unless something changes at dugout level then we will be relegated this season because we have an unfit squad devoid of confidence and a manager who has no answer to it. It doesn't help of course that McCall will be abandoning his club and players next week for a wee jolly with Scotland at a time when he should be pulling out all the stops to arrest this rotten run of form at Fir Park but that's another story.
  9. Bold statement that considering how we've been playing.
  10. Whilst I think some are going a bit overboard with their outpouring of grief, I do find it hard to disagree with you that if Faddy, deployed in his correct position does the job for Saints then it will be even more of a boot in the stones for us and will, in my opinion, cause more and more fans to turn against McCall especially seeing as McCall played a rather big part in Faddy's difficulties last season by trying to turn him into a right winger.
  11. Good luck to him, he's moved on so we need to do the same.
  12. Good post steelboy and it's hard to argue or disagree with any of that.
  13. Can see us getting a point here in a 1-1 draw but if I'm honest, any result we get will only paper over the cracks because we have serious problems at FP just now.
  14. What we are witnessing now is McCall's poor performance in the last two summer transfer windows coming home to roost as the luck we carried by the bucketload last season has deserted us this year and inept, clueless guff like today, like Inverness and St.Johnstone at home is the result of it. I have said all along that Stuart McCall is a poor manager who is one dimensional and has no answer when he can't work to his plan A. Today was another glaring example of this. And before anyone shoves last season in my face, he got lucky then as he had a largely settled side and we somehow scraped by, but can anyone seriously say that they thought we played good football at any point last year? That said the problems at Fir Park run far, far deeper than just the manager and I believe we are completely rudderless, especially since the departure of Dempster and I honestly do nor know who is pulling string at FP just now because whoever it is, its not working for us. The future is bleak.
  15. 4-0, four fucking nil to a side who've just been promoted! That is fucking terrible. McCall's time is up, no two ways about it. We got away with murder last season but we are being well and truly shown up for the disjointed shower of keech that we are.
  16. Completely and utterly unacceptable. No other way to describe that.
  17. Yes the league finishes are the bread and butter for us, but its Cup runs that generate excitement for the support as it opens up the opportunity for the club to win silverware, something that would be the ultimate achievement for a club of our size and stature. They also provide crucial revenue for running costs and player budgets, which we've had to cut annually in the last few years, due to no Cup runs. That's not my opinion, that comes from the club itself. So, we need a Cup run this season. If nothing else to get the support as a whole engaged and excited again and to prove that McCall has learnt from his failings in the past in such matches. Our cup record since April 2011 is nothing short of diabolical and McCall has overseen some absolute shockers in that time down to his poor preparation, motivation, selection and tactics. No one can deny he has a good record in League matches but Cup matches are crucial to us too and for us to continually fail in them is just unacceptable, not least because they mean a lot to the support as a whole, so if we fall short yet again tonight in a big cup match then yes, McCall has gone as far as he can with us. And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who thinks that...
  18. If we don't win this game then McCall's time is up as far as I'm concerned. We badly need a cup run this season after all the pathetic showings in recent years and the financial hits we've taken as a result so another first hurdle exit in a big match for the club, one that the support is desperate to win for obvious reasons will be the last straw.
  19. My crystal balls didn't work this time. But on a serious note that was a superb result and totally unexpected, by the overwhelming majority of Motherwell fans too I'd guess. Not many sides will go there and get anything so we have to be very pleased with our point today.
  20. It wasn't irony it was just me giving a prediction/guess as to what the result will be. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't think anyone has been spitting dummies out over not getting what they want due to raised expectations, they're just looking at things in a broader context. All some folk have said on this thread is that they believe there might be a staleness creeping in with the current management team and set up and a change might not be such a bad thing. That's it, nothing more. I honestly do not get this obsession some Motherwell fans have with this so called 'Old Firm mindset' thing. "Don't criticise too much, thats what the Old Firm do", " Our fans are so selfish nowadays, we used to be relegation fodder, seems we're turning into Old Firm fans"....and that's fucking bullshit! Our fans are the same as any other set of supporters in that we're happy when we win, not so when we lose, on a high when on a good run and on a downer when on a poor run. And differing levels of performances change expectation levels, that's just part and parcel of football. There is no such thing as an 'Old Firm mindset' and to say that our support is becoming more 'Old Firmish' is about as accurate as saying that our support is becoming more Bhuddist.
  21. I wouldn't say so no. My prediction may be, in fact is glass half empty, but it's not at all beyond the realms of possibility given our poor start to the season, our shaky defence, Celtic's ability to high score and our dreadful record at Parkhead. Yes I'm predicting the worst case scenario but its a possibility that I am making a guess at coming to fruition. The claim that our support is becoming more like the 'Old Firm' is completely different and is utter shite in my book. Our support is no different to any other and all folk are doing in this thread is discussing the possibility of McCall moving on and how it wouldn't be necessarily a bad thing for us despite his past achievements. He's done a decent job and his league record is superb, no one can deny him that, but if you take a step back and look at his performance in a wider context then there have been many failings too.
