It's not who's in goal for us that worries me, it's the defence and midfield in front of them that bothers me. If Aberdeen win the midfield battle then they will beat us and let's face it, our midfield has been posted missing for the majority of the season.
-
For the second time in two seasons Aberdeen will shatter our cup hopes. They are a formidable side on their day and we tend to struggle against SPL sides in the Cup, especially at this early stage in the tournament. 2-0 Aberdeen and four cup exits at the first hurdle before Christmas for us.

Ach d'you what? I'm oot, no point arguing with folk online about something as trivial as this. Goodnight.
-
Okay then, if that's the case then fine, the club or the stadium cannot be blamed. But surely you can see where I'm coming from when I say that it's a concern that we've had yet another match called off due to issues with the stadium???
-
There's no need to be so rude and crass. I just find it concerning that we have had yet another game called off due to an issue with the stadium. Maybe I am barking up completely the wrong tree but I think it's a worry that it's happened again, less than a year since we last had a match called off for an issue with the stadium.
-
I don't think it's a 'conspiricy', I'm just extremeley worried about the condition of Fir Park. In the last year, we've had THREE matches called off due to issues with the stadium. The Hibs game last December, then the Dunfermline game which was called off due to storm damage and now today's problems. I'm sorry for going on like a broken record but it just seems like it's one thing after another with the ground just now. Maybe I am over reacting, but three call offs in a year for issues with the ground gives me cause for concern.
-
If you say so.
-
Okay let me re-phrase that then, for the second time in less than a year we have had a game called off due to some sort of issue with the generators within the ground.
-
Would it? I'm not getting the bit that for the second time in less than a year we've had a game called off due to some sort of failure which has resulted in smoke pumping out of generators. Forgive me for being cynical, but that on top of all the other issues with FP over the years is just too much of a coincidence for it to just be 'one of those things' and I'm afraid that there are in fact some very serious failings with Fir Park as a stadium.
-
Today's events are another nail in Fir Park's coffin as I don't see us being able to obtain a safety certificate for much longer. It wouldn't surprise me if we were forced to ground share with Airdrie sooner rather than later.

Was the police tannoy not used? The bing bong one?
-
I'm sure we'll score tomorrow as United's defence is none to clever, but we'll need to buck up our own ideas at the back aswell as our defence has been hopeless of late. Is Mackay-Steven still out for them?
-
-
Can see this one being a high scoring affair as both defences are extremely suspect. The game could go either way but it wouldn't surprise me if this ended 4-4 or something crazy like that.
-
Maybe, but I'm not one of them.
-
You are completely wrong and out of order to say that, especially the first bit. I've been more than happy to see us never mind qualify for Europe and reach Cup finals, but just to win any match and I've said as much plenty of times on here. Yes I've also been pretty vocal in moaning and predicting defeats, but that's just the way I am. I've given the team and the club plenty of credit on here over the years. There really are some amount of posters on here with selective reading glasses on.

Randolop was superb against Celtic and saved us from a serious drubbing, who knows how important that could prove to be come the end of the season in terms of goal difference? But Michael Higdon has been the best player for us this month as he's chipped in with vital goals at vital times. He splits opinions among the support but big Higdon does what a penalty box striker of his kind do best, put the ball in the net whenever he gets the right service.
-
Must admit I liked "Randolph's Irish, you're no" at the Celtic support yesterday. Disappointing to see some of our fans join in with them with their 'zombie' dance though. I know many Motherwell fans have rejoiced in seeing Rangers go down the pan but I don't like to see us join in with Celtic fans and their songs/dances.

Lasley is missing Jennings badly imho. That and the fact that he's not getting any younger is having a poor effect on his game and a result, our midfield.

In regards to McCall's comments about taking a 3rd placed finish whilst losing every game against Celtic, or 'The Rangers' along the way over getting a few results against them and finishing 8th, I can see where he's coming from. However it's not a choice he's got to make at the start of each season to do either one or the other, he is the manager of the team and part of that remit is to get the team fired up for EVERY game we play including those against Celtic and other 'better' sides. He is failing on that count in my opinion. I'm frankly sick fed up with McCall's approach to these games, we are beaten before the game even kicks off and he just accepts it as if these games don't matter. Well in that case, why doesn't he just save everyone the time, effort and money and just forfeit the match beforehand, resulting in a 3-0 win for them without a ball being kicked? He'd be as well doing that because it is clear that we are never going to get anything out of these games whilst he is the manager. I've given McCall plenty of credit for what he's achieved whilst he's been here but he has limitations which are there for all to see in regards to his tactical ability, and this past week has been a real eye opener with some of his comments and attitude towards our last two matches.
-
Yes they were very good, but they didn't even need to get out of second gear and that's what folk are annoyed about. Celtic will beat Motherwell nine times out of ten because they are better than us, that cannot be disputed, but yet again, as has been the case all to often with us under McCall, it wasn't the defeat that was so hard to take, it was the manner of the defeat. Our team selection was wrong and our attitude was wrong, AGAIN. We looked terrified of them from the off and gifted them so much space all afternoon it was frightening. Celtic were at walking pace and yet they still should have taken eight off us and indeed would have done had it not been for Randolph and some poor finising on their behalf. We were well beaten by a far superior side, no one can say otherwise, but Celtic will not get an easier game than that all season.
-
McGhee's record vs Rangers was played eight, lost five, drew three with one of the defeats coming in a League Cup Quarter Final. His record against Celtic was played seven, won one, drew one and lost five. We took a couple of pastings off Celtic during that time but we never played anywhere near as poorly as we did yesterday or last Wednesday.

...is going to be a major turning point in our season. We are a poor side who have got lucky so far but things are starting to unravel for us. We're going to struggle against relegation this season, because we are a poor side who have absolutley no stomach for a fight, yet we got away with it for so long at the beginning of the season, when we should have lost to St.Johnstone, St.Mirren then Dundee, but we finally collapsed up at Aberdeen when we threw away a 3-1 lead with less than ten minutes to go and since then have been shown up as the poor side that we really are. Dundee Utd will beat us next week to send us into the depths of despair and a long, hard, miserable winter. We are not a good side, in fact we are a poor side with a poor manager who is being well and truly found out. I'll be delighted to just avoid relegation this season.
-
Mind that time Celtic came to Fir Park and beat us 7-1? Well we played a helluva lot better that night than we did today. We are utterly spineless whenever it comes to opposition who have any sort of quality about them and that is down to the manager, whether folk like that or not.
-
If you think that's all today boils down to then you're clutching at straws. Yes Celtic have better players than us and far greater quality, but ffs they'll get more challenging training sessions than they got today. Our performance was gutless, spineless and downright pathetic and I seriously wonder whether Fraser Forster, Celtic goalkeeper, came out to warm up about ten minutes before the 2nd half kicked off to keep himself warm. We were disgraceful today.
