  1. Seriously, what did you expect? We play a 3rd division side who have struggled to get a draw away from home so far and who were beaten by QoS in the Challenge Cup at home last week. At the same time we are top of the SPL. Add into the mix that this was, without doubt, our best chance to win at Ibrox for over a decade, yet we still turned out the usual spineles and gormless display and lose 2-0. So, what exactly should we be saying right now???
  2. McCall and the players should be fined for that tonight...after they've made a public apology to the Motherwell fans who went there to support them.
  3. An absolutely shameful, disgraceful and gutless performance from us and we deserve all the slack we're going to get for that. Hang your heads in shame Motherwell.
  4. Is anybody really surprised by this? I mean REALLY surprised?
  5. It's not the fans fault that the manager and the team have no stomach for the fight!
  6. There ye go, 1-0 Rangers, McCulloch free header. Game over.
  7. We just haven't got it in us to get a grip and show composure I'm afraid.
  8. Nothing in it really but we just don't have that killer touch and I can't see us scoring. That said they've not done much up the other end, though our defence looks shaky again. Think a penalty shoot out defeat could well be on the cards here.
  9. I don't think I've ever been as nervous about and desperate to win a League Cup 3rd Round game in all my days as this one. Hope to God we go about our business in the proper manner, give them absolutey nothing and come away with the win. Nothing less is acceptable.
  10. Just look at that 'Well supports in those videos, you just wouldn't see that these days especially in Glasgow.

    Sunday's Game

    Just wait til Thursday morning.
  12. Yip, on and off the park by the looks of things.
  13. We travel to Ibrox Stadium, game kicks off at 1915 hrs, lasts 90 minutes unless scores are level at this point in which case an extra period of 30 minutes will then be played whereafter if the sides are still level, the match will be decided on a penalty shootout. Upon the conclusion of the match we all come home again.
  14. "The Board of Motherwell Football Club today (Monday) issued the following brief statement ahead of Wednesday's match with Rangers. "The Board, players, staff and fans at Motherwell FC are united behind making the club successful and a positive force for improvement in the Scottish game. "This week we are excited to be playing a Scottish Communities League Cup fixture against Rangers as both clubs build for the future. All of our focus should be on the field of play and we look forward to what promises to being a great game. "We are pleased to note both the CEO and Board of Rangers recently said they would welcome our staff and fans and we will extend the same courtesy to all clubs ourselves as we seek to create a welcoming family club. "The past is done; we now can only influence the future. We are now totally focused on what happens on the field this week. More generally we want to put all our energies into building on the hard work we have done over the last few years to make our club a sustainable success." Nothing wrong with the statement, but I'm struggling to see the need for it or indeed what point they are trying to make with it.
  15. Whilst I am absolutely gutted at not winning yesterday and was raging about throwing away two points in the manner we did, looking back at it now with a bit of perspective, it wasn't a 'bad' result in the sense that I would have taken a point before the game and it was at a difficult away venue. It's so frustrating though as we lead by two goals with less than ten minutes left on the clock to only come away with a point. However, we are still unbeaten and have made a very good start to the season, all things considered. I know we have played arguably the 'weaker' sides in the division, but in this league there isn't much between the sides, Celtic apart, and really anybody can get a result against anyone so it's impressive that we have remained undefeated and sit top of the table at this point. We need to work on the defending though, as we are shipping far too many cheap goals especially from crosses into the box. That's been an issue with us for years now but we never seem to learn our lessons and make the same mistakes regularly. Needless to say that if we defend like that next week against Celtic then we will not just be beaten, we will be comprehensively beaten.
  16. I'm not interested in what the bookies say, I'm not a betting man so that means nothing to me. They make a guess as to what the score will be, the same as me or anyone else does, that doesn't make the scoreline they predict any more or less likely to happen than the one I predict. I firmly believe we will lose to 'Rangers' because they are, on their day, a match for us and with the big crowd behind them, combined with our inferiority complex whenever we see a Rangers jersey then there is only going to be one winner in this game as far as I can see. I'd love to be wrong, but we do not possess the bottle or the savvy to go into this game and come away with the win.
  17. You would think yes, but I'm afraid I have absolutely no faith whatsoever in McCall and this team to go to Ibrox with the belief and the bottle to come away with the win. McCall's already been in the paper today telling us how 'Rangers' are favourites and why they'll be desperate to win from their point of view. Well never mind them, what about us and how we're desperate to win to progress in the Cup and bury this horrendous Ibrox hoodoo? As far as I'm concerned, McCall and the players owe the supporters a win against Rangers on Wednesday after all the pathetic showings against them over the years, but I can't see us getting it.
  18. Ahhh my favourite type of thread. Well on paper this the SPL leaders against a Third Division side, surely that should be a pointer as to who wins this game? But games are never won on paper. Apart from that, this fixture means a whole lot more, especially to Motherwell fans who are in the main desperate to see us get a win over a side that calls themselves 'Rangers' and plays at Ibrox. I know I certainly want us to get a win against this lot, especially after all those many years of frustration and failure against the oldco Rangers, and I would guess the majority of Motherwell fans feel the same. But will they get their wish? Well, there's no doubt that this is probably our best chance to win at Ibrox and knock the locals out of a major Cup competition, given that we are the SPL side and they are not as strong as they were when they were Rangers as they were in the SPL. But history would show that Motherwell do not beat teams called Rangers who play at Ibrox and our shocking record against Rangers oldco fully supports that. 'Rangers' of 2012 are a poor side, as has been proved with their struggles in the 3rd division and against QoS in the Ramsdens Cup and I think that although they definately have SPL class players in their squad which would secure them a mid table finish had they been plying their trade in the top flight, they are a pretty disjointed outfit who can be beaten. They can be beaten by sides who give them zero respect and get right in their faces, chase them down at every turn and stop them from settling down and get into any sort of flow. That's how QoS got the better of them, how Peterhead and Berwick drew with and should have beaten them. Quite simply, give them no respect and get stuck right in and you've got a great chance of beating this team. But there's the thing. Motherwell can't play like that. We can't get in team's faces and play with a bit of arrogance, giving no respect to the supposed 'better' opposition. Therefore we will not win on Wednesday, when the home side will be absolutely desperate to win to get their season back on track after losing to QoS last week and when their supporters will be spitting blood to get the better of an SPL side. They will be up for it, but will our players raise our game enough to rise to the challenge? I doubt it. I don't know what the scoreline will be, but I do know this. Motherwell will lose to 'Rangers' on Wednesday, one way or another and it will be a sore one to take regardless of how it happens. Just for 'guessing' sake, I predict 2-0 to 'The Rangers'.
  19. Against 'Rangers'? You better believe it!
  20. Celtic will murder us next week. You can count on that.
  21. Did I say that at any point? Think you'll find the answer is no! However that result today deserves to be criticised, whether folk like it or not. We blew it, and I defy ANYONE to contradict that.
  22. Dress that up any way you like, but 3-1 up with nine minutes to go and only coming away with a point is unacceptable, especially when you take into account the manner in which we lost the three goals.
  23. Fuck off Morherwell you shower of utter shitebags. Sheep 3 Shitebags 3
