  1. We're gonna throw this away now, just watch it...
  2. We'll do well to break this mob down from here on in, Aberdeen have a solid defence. We'll also do well to keep 11 on the pitch by the looks of things.
  3. So it's still a 3pm kick off then?
  4. So less than a week to go until the Celtic game and as things stand this game will kick off next Saturday at 3pm as surely we would have known by now if this game was getting moved for TV?
  5. Okay then, please put me straight.
  6. Well, the man asked the question and I knew the answer so...
  7. Celtic x2 (one end of the stadium) Celtic x2 (the other end of the stadium) Come on You Boys in Green x2 (one end of the stadium) Come on You Boys in Green x2 (the other end of the stadium) Glasgow's Green and White x2 (one end of the stadium) Glasgow's Green and White x2 (the other end of the stadium) Ohhhhhhh Ohhhhhhhhh Ohhhhhhhhhh (in unison)
  8. Pretty much aye, Motherwell fans don't do originality when it comes to songs and chants.
  9. I don't mean shite chat in that it's drab and no' entertaining, I mean it's shite chat to even suggest that we would "deliberately and actively lie down". We don't "deliberately and actively lie down" to anyone, our record over the years against Rangers is down to a combination of them having better players, us having zero % luck and not learning lessons and making basic, avoidable errors time and time again, playing with gormless and inept tactics and showing absolutely no belief in ourselves that we could beat them. I'm the last person to defend our record against Rangers but anyone claiming that it's down to our players and management team "deliberately and actively" lying down, thus waiving their win bonuses, presumably because they perceive that our players are all Rangers supporters and that means more to them than doing their professional jobs, is talking out their arse.
  10. How many times has that been said over the last 10 years? "They're there for the taking, we'll never have a better chance to beat them", but we never do it. That said this time, going by the team they have on paper at least, they are a lot more 'beatable' than they have been at any time in the last decade and if we fail to deliver this time then excuses such as "they have players of a far higher quality than we have, so there's no shame in losing to them" will not wash one little bit. Can we beat them? Yes we are capable of it in my opinion, but they are also capable of beating us as the sides are probably equal in terms of quality. Will we beat them? No I don't think we will. We need to go there and show them no respect and really go for it, but you just know that we won't do that and we will contrive to lose to them one way or another. If they are really up for it and we do our usual sitting off them then we'll lose by quite a few, and if they're not and play as poorly as they did last night then we'll giftwrap a goal or two for them. Oh, and as usual we'll get absolutely no luck whatsoever, either in front of goal if we do manage to create a chance or two, or from the referee and his assistants. Had we scored that equalising goal that QoS did last night at Ibrox then it would have been given offside going by our previous luck against 'Rangers'. It's so predictable it's infuriating, that said I'll still be absolutely raging if we lose to them again in what is, without question, as good a chance as we've ever had to go to Ibrox and knock the team that play there out of the League Cup, but frankly you could play eleven subbuteo Rangers players against us and we still wouldn't be able to beat them.
  11. Yes, and for the love of God I hope McCall doesn't spend the build up to the game telling all and sundry in the media of his 'respect for Rangers and his pal Ally and how they are still a great side', because they are clearly nothing of the sort.
  12. My feelings aswell. We've seen tonight just how poor a side they are, but poor sides can raise their games when the pressure is really on and as has been said, they have players in their squad which are of decent SPL standard. I just hope that we go there and go for their throats, none of this respect and standing off them that we've seen in the past from us under McCall when we've went to Ibrox. We need to be well and truly up for this because you can bet your boots that they will, especially after tonight.
  13. Yes but they're not all 'kids' though are they? They have some seasoned and decent SPL standard players in that side and with the no doubt sell out crowd behind them absolutely desperate for the win, I think they'll take a lot of confidence from that. I'm sorry but I just have no faith in Motherwell to get a win against Rangers, Newco, oldco, Sevco or whateverco. And yes they are definately beatable, but how many times over the last ten years have we seen other sides beat them, sides poorer than we are yet when we come up against them we just collapse? I'm just getting that same feeling of dread again and a defeat to them would be embarrassing.
  14. Oh dear, this result tonight has just raised even more hopes for an almighty fall next Wednesday. I'm afraid that this result isn't a good one for us as what it will now mean is that the pressure on 'The Rangers' and Ally McCoist will be cranked up ten fold. They will be given a hounding in the press and by their own fans and we, as the SPL side will be 'expected' to go there and beat them next week. Result of that is that their team - which on their day is a match for us IMO - will be fired right up for this one and their supporters will be spitting venom to get one over the SPL side to get their 'revenge' and all of that will count against us. They will beat us next week, as certain as night follows day.
  15. This. Fuck this 'field a weakened team in the Cup, it's only the diddy cup' pish. This is a competition that we surely want to progress as far as we can in and we've got an extremely tough draw so we need our strongest side out there giving it their all.
  16. Fantastic result, delighted with that.
  17. Well that's your opinion, but I disagree that he can be classed as a 'Motherwell legend' and no one's going to change my opinion on that. He was a great player and I loved watching him in Claret & Amber, probably the most skilful Motherwell players I've ever seen, but that was the best part of a decade now. He's moved on, so have the club, it's just some Motherwell fans that are still stuck in 2002. No player is bigger than the club, especially one who has been using our training facilities all summer yet has no intention in signing for the club.
  18. I'm certainly the latter, but I'm not the former.
  19. Like who? Who has he actually knocked back from the Championship?
  20. If he'd signed for Aberdeen when they initially showed an interest, he'd have dropped his demands, as he'd be earning considerably less than he was down in England with Everton or Birmimgham. But he didn't sign for them, no doubt because he couldn't agree 'personal terms' which would no doubt have included a salary package satisfactory to him. So why any Motherwell fan would seriously think that he would then sign for us when we cannot compete with Aberdeen on wages that we can offer is completely beyond me, the only reason I can think of is that it's based on sheer, unadulterated fantasy. And 'legend status'??? Is he really a Motherwell 'legend'? Granted he was a great player for us in a dark time for the club, but a legend in the same bracket as Davie Cooper, Phil O'Donnell or Stevie Kirk, who won a Cup for us? Or the Ancell Babes etc??? I'm sorry I don't think so. He played in our first team for less than three years in which time we flirted with relegation, were forced into massive financial cuts before being forced into administration and yes, he was the brightest spark we had in that otherwise bleak time but club legend??...Nah.
