And the fact that he's knocked back Aberdeen - who can offer considerably higher wages than we can - twice, does that not give even the merest hint of a clue to some that we simply cannot afford to sign him???
-
James McFadden isn't coming back and the sooner some Motherwell fans realise and accept this the better. We can't afford him and he has knocked us back, let's move on. Listening to some of the trumpets on here you'd think that they were James McFadden supporters before they were Motherwell supporters. He's fucking gone and he's not coming back, indeed, he has absolutely no interest in coming back otherwise he'd have signed long ago considering he's been using the club's training facilities for months, yet still remains a non-MFC player. Forget about him and move on, because dwelling on the past never did anyone any good.

What about Roy Essandoh, an Irish player who was with us in the mid 90s whom McLeish had high hopes for. Remember him coming close once against Celtic with a long range lob...but not much else.
-
Nah not quite. Considering getting myself a big tub of popcorn to scran whilst reading the reactions though. I can't see it happening either. Whilst Aberdeen would be in a better position to be able to sign him than we would in the sense that they can offer far higher wages than we can, I still don't think they'll be able to match James McFadden's salary and the most likely outcomes are that he'll either get a Championship or League 1 club in England, or join Celtic.

This place would be hilarious if Faddy signed for Aberdeen.

Tommy Coyne is my all time 'Well cult hero. Such a classy and shrewd player who made the team tick and scored plenty of goals into the bargain. He's never been replaced. His partnership with Owen Coyle was the best I've ever seen in Claret & Amber

I think we'll be fresh and raring to go on Saturday and we'll win 2-0.
-
Boxing Day 2010? That was a Sunday.
-
Yip that was that game. McGeady & Alan Thompson put them 2-0 up, Kaiser pulled one back before Foran levelled with a penalty before Beattie won it for them. It was a hard one to take that day as we'd played them off the park.
-
Saturday 30th October 2004 vs Celtic when we lost 2-3 after coming back from 2-0 down. That was the last time we played either them or Oldco at Fir Park at 3pm on a Saturday.
-
Doubt it'll be the Sunday as Celtic are playing in the Champions League on the Tuesday night and Aberdeen v Hibs is the televised early kick off on the Saturday. I suppose it really is too much to hope for that just for once the the TV companies might just leave this one alone to be played at 3pm on Saturday?

"The match reaches tense, last quarter...there's Kirk, now O'Neill, the run made by Cusack there's a FINE EFFORT...Colin O'Neill has scored for Motherwell...a goal of supreme quality"

The 7.15pm kick off is a strange one, though no doubt the choice of the BBC.
-
I was gutted about the draw at first, but I'm tempted to go, just in case we do beat them. It'll be worth it just to see their faces.
-
Now, now, no need to be so rude. Canny win with some folk on here, show a bit of positivity and this is what you get in return.
-
Ach this is a great draw, I mean have you seen Sevco? They're the worst team since that mob that used to be called Rangers, definately there for the taking so they are, we'll never have a better chance to go to Ibrox and win, bring it fucking on!
-
That'll be that then.
-
For the simple reason that we won't be able to meet his wage demands and there are other clubs out there who can. He'll end up at Aberdeen, that's my prediction and if not there then he'll either re-join Hearts or sign up to the Sevco 'revolution' in the 3rd division.
-
Ryan Stevenson would be a great, if strange signing for us given that he'd have been earning far more than we could offer at his two previous clubs. Scored a fair few goals from midfield when he was at Hearts as I remember. I don't think we'll get him though and wouldn't be atall surprised to see him sign for Aberdeen or even return to Hearts.

An awful lot of negativity around just now but I think it's fair to say that 6 points from the opening four games and still undefeated is a plus point. We haven't played particularly well, in fact we've been pretty awful in our two home games but we still managed to get something from them and considering both were on the back of European ties and have a threadbare squad, that's not a bad return. Once Thursday's out the way we can start fully focussing on our most important priority, how we fare in the SPL and that can't come quick enough for me.
-
Come on Well, just keep the heid.
-
Because a combination of injuries, tiredness from last night and our inability to create chances, not to mention our pretty poor record against St.Mirren tells me that a draw from this game is the best that we can hope for. If you disagree and think we can beat them then I'm very happy for you.
-
A draw's the best we can hope for from this one, so at best 1-1 at worst 1-0 or 2-0 to them.
