  1. Fantastic result tonight given that our first half performance was poor and our defence looked extremely dodgy throughout, to say the very least. At half time it really looked like a carbon copy of the original 45 minutes in December as we'd gifted them a goal with some dreadful defending and didn't really carry much threat up the other end. But what a difference, attacking wise anyway, after half time. Ojamaa just burst into life and Hibs couldn't handle him. He won both penalties(stonewallers aswell) and was a constant threat and as for hat trick hero Higdon...well never thought I'd ever hear those words a month or two ago. Converted both penalties with aplomb and his overhead kick was delightful. Our defending throughout the game was very poor and that cannot be overlooked, especially as we gifted them three goals on a plate, but at the end of the day it didn't matter because we managed to do the business up front and cancel all of that out. That was a game that could easily have went either way, especially when it went 2-2 but thankfully we had that bit of edge about us to get the result. Well done Motherwell
  2. So did I. I don't think the game will be off, nor am I predicting it to be off, I was just thinking out loud as they say.
  3. With our track record? Not atall unfortunately.
  4. Forecast for tomorrow is for heavy rain. Will the pitch be okay I wonder ?

Just like we coped with him when he regularly scored against us when he was at Celtic?

    Vs Hearts

This is a massive game for us if we want to finish 3rd this season, win it and we're in a great position with a healthy cushion over our closest challengers. However I think we'll get gubbed 3-0 because I think Hearts have the measure of us and as we all know we're not too convincing at home this season. Just guessing of course, same as everyone else on this thread.
  7. 1999 when we drew Hearts, Stirling Albion and then St.Johnstone.
  8. Season ticket holders can get in using Special Voucher H which is at the back of the book.

Saw that crowd aswell, bunch of 15/16 year old neds in trackies. They walked past the East Stand gates just after the game singing at us as if they were something trying to goad Well fans but all they got was laughed at.
  10. He definately said it was an all ticket match, but that tickets would be available on the night at the prices for the original match, ie £10 adults, £5 kids for those folk who didn't have match abandoned vouchers.
  11. With the exception of Celtic, we are capable of beating all of those teams on our day, but I'd say that the majority of them are also capable of beating us aswell. Let's face it, we draw Celtic and we are out so that's the one we have to avoid if we are to stand any chance of getting to the Semi Finals. If we were to get Hibs then I'd prefer it to be away from home given that our recent record at Easter Road has been reasonable whereas at Fir Park Hibs have tended to get the better of us, so I'd take Hibs away personally.

That's right aye It was Andrew Waddell, that ref with the white hair who gave it, Colin Meldrum was the keeper. Sure that was the day we won 4-2 with a Tommy Coyne hat trick.
  13. Never mind the next match just now, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Right now I'm delighted with the result and performance that my team has served up in getting through what was, on paper, a potentially difficult tie. We were excellent today. Never mind how poor Morton were, we can only beat what is infront of us and we did that in emphatic fashion.
  14. I said I thought we would lose, I was wrong. I apologise to Stuart McCall and every Motherwell player out there on the park today for us for having so little faith in them. Motherwell teams in the past have let us down on occasions such as today, but this team did not do that. We were thoroughly professional, clinical and gave Morton no chance whatsoever after a first half display which completely blew them away allowing us to take our foot off slightly in the second half whilst remaining comfortable throughout and adding a sixth goal into the bargain. Well done to Stuart McCall and his players for a very good job which was very well done.
  15. The first goal will be crucial in this game. We get it, it will hopefully settle our nerves while their heads drop. They get it then I think we'll struggle to break them down and come back.
  16. On paper of course we should win this. We're the SPL side, they're the first division side. Not only that but we're currently the third placed SPL side whilst Morton are mid table in the first so we're favourites and rightly so. But the same could have been said before Ayr Utd in 2000, Inverness 2004, Dundee 2008 or Alloa or Forfar in the League Cup. History tells us that games like this tend to trip Motherwell, especially when there's a bigger expetant crowd there to see it as you'd expect their to be on Saturday. Morton are more than capable of beating us on Saturday and I just feel that our poor home form and performances of late, apart from the wins against Dunfermline & Saints will come back to haunt us again.
  17. Got a very bad feeling about this one. We've won our last two on the trot and we're strongly expected to get through this one comfortably given that we're at home against a lower league side. But we've seen many a Motherwell side come a cropper in games like this down the years and I've a feeling Saturday will be the same unfortunately. As always though I hope to be proved wrong. 1-0 Morton
  18. I know, you can never be sure of anything with Motherwell. Anyway apart from that I'd say it's in the balance whether the game goes ahead atall on Saturday given that there's a possibility of 'significant snowfall' on Friday/Saturday if the early forecasts are anything to go by.

    Ojamaa

You may laugh about it but it wouldn't surprise me if they did.
  20. 2-1 Saints I'm afraid. Despite last night's result we are still a poor side at home and with St.Johnstone being on form at the moment they will take care of us this Saturday just as they did back in September at Fir Park.
  21. I thought that was one of the best and funniest chants I've heard at Fir Park in a long time.
