  1. Fantastic result today, absolutely tremendous from Motherwell.
  2. We have looked absolutely awful in our last two games (or game and a half) and don't look like scoring just now. We've done well thus far to be sitting where we are, but let's not kid ourselves on, we've been poor at home this season and have scored only SIX home goals all season. Away from home it's been a different story, we've been able to grind out results but to be honest, we've not been great on the road either and sooner or later we're going to come a cropper. I think that will be tomorrow.
  3. 3-0 to St.Johnstone. We are on a downward spiral just now, our defence is dire and we are struggling to even create a clear cut chance never mind score and I see no reason why things will change against an on form St.Johnstone this weekend.
  4. From what we did see tonight, that was absolutely brutal. We never in that game and looked as though we could have played all night without creating a chance never mind scoring. Murphy has gone way off the boil and Humphrey is, well, not very good to put it as kindly as possible. We can count ourselves fortunate that the game was abandoned.
  5. It will be a very tight game tomorrow as we haven't exactly set the heather on fire at Fir Park this season and United are capable of taking points off us on their day. That said, we have proved fairly hard to beat this season and that might just swing things in our favour once again. I'm going to go for either 1-1 or 2-1 to us.
  6. His petulant staring out of the BBC studio window after Portugal beat them on penalties in Euro 2004 was even better during the after match analysis and his "nah you don't" answer to someone saying that you need to give Portugal some credit just capped it. If any non English person needed reminding of why they want them to fall flat on their faces then Ian Wright was always sure to provide them with sufficient reason.
  7. I reckon Celtic will beat us by at least three goals next Sunday. Firstly because as we already know they have better players than us and would beat us nine times out of ten, but also given their poor run of results of late that has seen them fall twelve points behind Rangers now find themselves third behind ourselves also, the pressure is going to be cranked right up on Lennon and his players over the coming week. There will be talk of how this could be the game that Lennon's job depends on as he will probably go into it already 15 points behind Rangers who play the day before and the prospect of Motherwell beating Celtic and moving even further ahead of them so they will be absolutely desperate to get the three points. And as we all know only too well, whenever there is any sort of 'expectation' (and there will be from some quarters) to get a result, it never happens and we end up taking a serious drubbing. I can see next Sunday being the day we are brought right back to earth with a shuddering thud. 6-1 Celtic.
  8. Think we'll lose today unfortunately. Kilmarnock at home is never an easy fixture and they showed last week that they have goals in their side. 1-0 to the Ayrshire mob.

    Faddy

I'm not 'proclaiming it as gospel' it's my own opinion. I( that's me myself) believe and have done since he left Motherwell, indeed before that, that James McFadden will one day sign for Celtic and I've said that ever since. That's not a fact, or gospel or anything else, it's my opinion, take it as you will.

Wind yer neck in, if it upsets you that much don't bother reading it.

    Faddy

Exactly! The amount of folk on here harbouring this idea that 'Faddy' bleeds Claret & Amber and is desperate to return to us one day whilst having absolutely no interest whatsoever in signing for one of the Old Firm clubs, particularly Celtic is astounding. I've said it since the day he left, James McFadden will sign for Celtic one day, whether that is sooner or later is another matter but it will happen. It's well documented that he is a Celtic fan, they have always been linked with him and I would say that it is far more likely than not that he will end up there. If folk really believe that he has no interest in joining them and will one day return to Fir Park, well, they're probably the same people who couldn't understand why Mark Reynolds wasn't a regular pick for the Scotland team.
  12. Yes almost three years since Aberdeen beat us. I think it's somewhat ironic and funny that since Mark McGhee and then Craig Brown left us for Aberdeen we are unbeaten against them.
  13. Despite the disastrous week we've had so far I have the strangest feeling that we're going to win this one comfortably and wouldn't be surprised if we ran out with a victory by three goals.
  14. Can see us losing this one as we begin a bit of a slide. Hibs are a poor side but to be honest we're not that great ourselves and we've all seen us being turned over by some absolutely rank rotten Hibs sides at Fir Park over the years and I fear Tuesday night will be the same. I predict 2-1 to them
  15. IF and I still believe it's a big IF Rangers do go into administration, I'll believe it when I see it, then first of all if they are not docked at least ten points which the current penalty for clubs going into administration is then we can all just pack up, go home and forget about Scottish Football as the credibilty of the game up here would be completely and utterly destroyed. There is no doubt in my view that Rangers, as part of the 'Old Firm' package are highly important to Scottish Football in terms of television coverage and sponsorships but that should not exclude them from the standard penalties of clubs entering administration and if it does then there really would be no credibility left in the game in Scotland. However, in my own view, and I'm a negative dour bastard at the best of times, I reckon that even if Rangers were docked 10 points then they would still in all probabilty be able to finish 2nd in the SPL. Let's face it, had this happened last season when they finished THIRTY points ahead of Hearts in third place then they would still have comfortably secured second place. Obviously it would open the window a little bit more for non 'Old Firm' clubs to finish second but even then, there is such a substantial gap between them and the rest of Scottish football that it would take a brave man to bet on it happening. And oh aye, we still wouldny be able to beat Rangers, no matter how much shit they get into off the park.
  16. All these folk getting carried away with themselves and predicting an easy victory, not gonna happen. I reckon it will be a very tight and downright awful football match....however....I think we'll just scrape it 1-0.
  17. I raised this point toward the end of last season and I'll raise it again. There seem to be a number of Motherwell fans who put a great deal of emphasis on what Celtic supporters think of them and our club, so much so that they fret about the slightest thing that is likely to cause Celtic fans to turn their narrow minded 'siege mentality' on us. Frequent comments such as in the aftermath of a defeat to Rangers like 'what will the Celtic fans think of us, no wonder they call us H u n s without the fare..how can we possibly explain ourselves to them?' and now it's 'don't wave this flag, don't shout this, don't shout that, let's not offend the Celtic fans'....Do these folk REALLY care about Celtic fans opinions that much? I say fuck Celtic, fuck their supporters and fuck their opinions/persecution complex/mock outrage to everything that they don't like. We as Motherwell supporters owe them absolutely nothing, especially not any explanations or apologies or justifications for performances in games which do not involve them and most certainly not for the way our supporters behave, as let's face it, many of us know that despite what some folk would have you believe, the Celtic support are not the well behaved, fine upstanding people that they make themselves out to be, anyone who's been at a match between the sides, be it at Fir Park, Celtic Park or Hampden will probably have witnessed first hand what they can be like, with the way they behave and the things they shout or sing. Celtic fans have no right to take the moral high ground with anyone so don't let them.
  18. I'm surprised at just how many Motherwell fans seem so baffled and shocked at yesterday's hammering. I've said this before and I'll say it again, Celtic have players who are more than capable of beating our's with more than a bit to spare, regardless of whether they play at the top of their game, or however we set up tactically. I've read a few comments on here and another site saying that we were too open against them as we were against Rangers the other week and we would have been better going 10 men behind the ball and trying to frustrate them, but this is a double edged sword surely because if we do that all that happens is we invite Celtic on to us, they bombard us with balls into the box, force us back and eventually will wear us down. And they might still end up giving us a doing! We don't have the ability to expect to get anything other than a defeat from either Celtic or Rangers and when we come up against them we are relying on them playing significantly poorer than they are capable of, us playing at 120% and, perhaps most importantly, a generous slice of luck to fall our way. I completely agree that we need to be a bit more 'streetwise' when playing Celtic or Rangers than we have been in recent encounters as we really haven't made them work too hard to get their straightforward victories against us, but even if we did 'toughen up', we're still likely to be on the wrong end of a defeat when we play them as we just aren't a match for them on the park, never mind off it.
  19. Aye, pumped As with Rangers the other week, I don't think we've got enough about us to be able to trouble Celtic at the back, especially at Parkhead. The big pitch there will count against us and Celtic have already showed that they are capable of ripping us to shreds when they use that to their advantage in both the last game of the SPL season in May and the Cup Final at Hampden. If they really fancy it tomorrow then Celtic can and will give us a serious drubbing. I'm not going to start a big debate here and ruin the thread so that's the last I'm going to say on the subject.
  20. Seemingly cruising then allowing the opposition back into it. But at least this time we managed to go up the park and kill off their comeback so well done Motherwell.
  21. Next goal is crucial, we get it and it could be game over, they get it and they're right back in it.
  22. No the 'Donald Duck' was from that game. The Inverness one you're thinking of was when he said "If I could have walked out early I would of" after they'd hammered us 4-1 at Fir Park.
