  1. Laugh if you want, but Rangers are currently 0-0 with Dundee Utd and are in danger of dropping points tonight, just as I said they would. Just wait and see...
  2. Still don't see Rangers beating them. Anyway, my main point here is that we could yet have a say in who wins the Championship again this season, so I think this is something to keep an eye on over the next few weeks, especially if Rangers do fail to win tonight.
  3. I don't see them beating Dundee Utd at Tannadice. Remember, they lost there in the Cup a few weeks back and deservedly lost too. Also, St.Johnstone gubbed them 4-1 and they were very lucky to beat St.Mirren and Accies so they are limping, rather than romping toward the title.
  4. We actually had two stonewallers turned down late in that game. But that doesn't excuse our performance that day, we were diabolical.
  5. There's many reasons why our support is poor, but one of the most modern ones is that going to the football just doesn't have the same appeal to people as it used to and there are now many other ways for folk to entertain themselves on a Saturday afternoon when crowds will be at their best, whilst midweek fixtures will always see a lower crowd anyway. That's just life I'm afraid and it's not just Motherwell FC who are suffering as a result of this. Personally speaking, I go to all the home games that I can and whatever away games I can afford, but the one ground I will not ever set foot inside is Celtic Park, as I refuse to pay the ridiculously high price to sit behind a pillar and risk being huckled or chucked out for standing up to let someone else out. Then you've got hundreds of smug faced, arrogant bastard Celtic fans all around you with their massive chips on their shoulders, so Parkhead is a no go area for me.
  6. That 5-4 game still gives me nightmares. Only Motherwell could throw away a two goal lead three times(2-0, 3-1, 4-2) at home and end up losing.
  7. I know, I mis typed it. I think that might be their only win before they play us, as I see them dropping points in all of their away games, meaning that if Celtic were to win all of their games, and that would include beating them at Parkhead, then that will set it up for them having to beat us on the final day.
  8. You may think this is a crazy long shot just now, but I can see this happening, and here's why. Rangers have to win two more games in order to win the league championship. However, in their run in, they have to go to Tannadice twice, Easter Road and Celtic Park, whilst their only home games are against us and Hearts. They will almost certainly drop points in that sequence of games as they have been struggling badly over the past month or so and I think that they are on the brink of collapsing. It's not atall impossible to suggest that they will fail to win at Tannadice(twice), Easter Road and Celtic Park. Celtic on the other hand, I have a feeling, will win all of their remaining matches as they will be desperately trying to prove a point for their disastrous season so far. So that sets it up for a title decider on 9th May, when we go to Ibrox and Celtic go to Tynecastle. Wouldn't it just be so typical of Motherwell to fail to win any of their remaining games up until then, before going to Ibrox on the day that Rangers were due to be crowned Champions, and beat them and after all of those times that we've played them and they've 'been there for the taking' only for us to bottle it, do so when nobody but nobody expects us to? It's a long shot, but hey, we've done it before. Stranger things have happened.
  9. Can't disagree with that. While we should never ever expect to go to Parkhead and take even a point at any time, the manner of last night's defeat made it so hard to take. Just like the two Rangers games at Fir Park when both times we were in a terrific opportunity to win it, firstly with the late penalty and secondly being 1-0 up until the 80th minute before a defensive slip gifts them a goal, last night against Celtic we play really well, take the lead and then shite ourselves and gift them two simple goals. We should be sitting here with six points off Rangers whilst we only have one and four from Celtic while we only have one. As I said, had we been gubbed 5-0 last night it would have been easier to take. And as for Craig Brown 'sucking Lennon's cock', well that's 'Oor Craigie' for ye! Ever since I can remember, back to his early days as Scotland manager, Brown has always spoken at great (and sometimes, sickeningly arse licking) lengths of how he has 'the utmost respect for [enter team/player's name]' and how he is 'good friends' with or 'how he holds them in the very highest of regards', no matter who he is talking about. I remember watching being interviewed before the Scotland v England game in Euro 96 and all he talked about was Terry Venables and England. I'm afraid that, no matter how well he's done since he's been here, Wee Craigie is one of those guys who likes to see themselves as somd kind of ambassador for Scottish Football and therefore comments on just about every single issue going, a bit like a certain Mr McGhee does.
  10. Yip, but as usual, we don't take it. I actually wish we'd been humped, It'd have been less frustrating.
  11. Celtic will be more than fired up tonight. They have been given a doing, not just by the media, but more importantly by Neil Lennon who has absolutely savaged their players over the last few days. The Celtic players tonight will be playing for their futures at the club and for that reason they will beat us and will more than likely do so with more than a bit to spare. As for all the predictions on this thread about us winning or taking a point... ...I admire your optimism but forget it guys, it ain't gonna happen. Even aside from the fact that our opponents will be more fired up than usual, we're talking about Celtic at Parkhead, where we very rarely take anything and before anyone mentions it, I know we took a point there earlier in the season, but we were lucky that day. And when was the last time we went to Parkhead twice in a season and didn't lose in either game?
  12. Couldn't have put it better myself. I'd have tipped them to beat us convincingly regardless of the result today, but on the back of it they'll be more fired up than they would have been in the first place. Expect them to get torn apart in the media over the next few days and there will almost certainly be speculation about us beating them, setting Rangers up to clinch the league on Wednesday night so we'll see a backlash and then some.
  13. If ever there was an arguement for getting rid of this split then this is it. Twenty away games to eighteen home and BOTH Celtic and Rangers away from home in the last five games of the season. Complete and utter nonsense and potentially damaging to our season. How on earth can the powers that be in Scottish Football justify a situation like that where certain clubs can be royally shafted with what could be potentially their most crucial fixtures of the campaign, yet pull out all the stops to make sure that Celtic and Rangers get the same amount of home and away games against each other and cannot meet in what could potentially be a title decider. Total pish.
  14. Dreadful result. Season over.
  15. It was always going to be a difficult game and nowhere near as easy as the predictions from some that we'd wipe the floor with them. Of course if we do end up losing today then it has to be considered a big disappointment, but it wouldn't be overly surprising as Falkirk are fighting for their lives just now and how many times have we seen a team that's been on a great run then suddenly lose one and they seem to forget how to win? There's still time for us today though and hopefully we can get something here.
  16. Take it the big man's injured then? Scoreflash: St.Mirren 1 Hearts 1
  17. Wheels right off the bogey...2-1 Falkirk. Hope to God I'm wrong though.
  18. Run over, push for Europe over aswell. Very disappointing, especially against ten men but United are a very good side and playing them at Tannadice is a very tough task so it's no real shock that we've lost today but obviously the scoreline is the real boot in the balls. Now it's all about how we pick ourselves up as we've seen it many times when a team that's been on a long, unbeaten run suddenly loses and then hits a slump and starts dropping points all over the place. Hopefully Brown & Knox can lift the boys to get back on track next weekend against Falkirk.
  19. You never know, but can you really see Archie Knox going to Celtic given he was part of the Rangers 9iar management team? And neither him or Craig Brown are 'Celtic men' so if that appointment happened then the Celtic hoardes would implode. As for the contract situation with Brown and Knox at Motherwell, I find this worrying. Very worrying indeed. The club were never clear on the situation with Gannon's contract and I still find it just a wee bit strange that they sacked Gannon for not signing a contract when it had become apparent that he had been appointed without signing one in the first place! We were told back in late January/early February that Brown and Knox had been given contracts until the end of the 2010/11 season and now it appears that this might not be the case. So what's going on at Fir Park???
  20. Huge game this and one that I really hope we take a good support up there as this could well determine whether we have a serious chance of finishing third. Sadly though I think our run will end on Tayside and we will lose 2-0.
  21. The Celtic semi final was much more heartbreaking as we had completely dominated the game and it was a cruel way to lose it in the way we did, especially for Kaiser. The 2005 Final was a tremendous day out after a fantastic run from Greenock to Hampden. I'll never forget that as long as I live, especially the semi at Easter Road. The build up to the final and the day itself was great and seeing so many 'Well fans at Hampden outsinging the Rangers fans was a joy to behold. Then the game started. And it was the biggest anti climax of the last ten years. We just didn't play atall and as soon as they went 1-0 up inside two minutes you knew that the game was over and the way we then predeced to allow a very average Rangers side to rip us apart was sickening. Especially as our manager had repeatedly told us all week that he feared a gubbing and that we really should be honoured to be on the same park as 'a team like Rangers'. I liked Butcher, but comments like that and similar ones he made before just about any game against Rangers after that really infuriated me. What kind of talk is that from a MANAGER of a team contesting a national cup final? How must the players have felt having to listen to that from their boss before such a big game? Hardly inspiring talk!
  22. Much better and more effective and certainly better than 'FHW' which frankly sounds like something an eleven year old who's just heard the words 'Fuuck and 'Waanker' for the first time would come up with. A crowd of 4,448 is disappointing, especially given the run we are on and also that a game vs Hearts at Fir Park ten years or so ago would have had at least 7,000 with a much bigger away support. It's a sign of the times though. Numberwise apart, I thought the Hearts support were dreadful today and never made a sound all game. They used to be one of the nosiest away supports at FP but today was the quietest I'd ever heard them and there wasn't even the usual sporadic chorus of 'Hullo Hullo' that we usually get from them.
  23. I must admit, I was absolutely raging when we conceded that goal just after we'd gone 3-0 up and it's obviously taken a bit of shine off what was another excellent performance and victory, especially as a three goal victory would have us sitting third in the table tonight. However, in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter that much. Hearts are always going to be a tough proposition, or so you'd think, so for us to beat them as comfortably as we did today then it really shows that we are a force to be reckoned with this season. What a massive game it's going to be up at Tannadice in a fortnight's time. Let's hope we take a good support up there as we've got every chance of getting this third place now and I think that we can beat any side in this form.
  24. Ach it's not as bad as it used to be. I remember the days when there used to be at least six threads a day titled 'F=ck Hearts W4nkers' and long winded tales of how the FHW fans used to act when they visited Motherwell and how they used to bomb shops and set fire to folks weans etc.
