The CIS Semi against Celtic in 2006 when Maloney scored was a very sore one to take but it still doesn't top Woods' brainstorm against Rangers in the Scottish Cup at Fir Park. Whilst Kaiser was unfortunate with his backpass and had a rush of blood to the head given that there was a man on, Woods had all the time in the world to do whatever the hell he liked with that ball. It wasn't even a pass back, he could have picked it up or blootered it out of the park instead of doing whatever the fuck he was trying to do by passing it out wide and into Durie's path. It ruined what would have been a fantastic day and a superb performance by the rest of the Motherwell team who had more than matched Rangers and had them beaten only for that utter liability to throw it all away like that. It was quite simply a terrible, terrible error by a terrible, terrible goalkeeper. And of course we lost 3-0 in the replay. Both of those goals were heartbreaking, but the Rangers one was made worse by the way Woods threw it away for us and by the fact that we were winning the game with only a few minutes to go. Against Celtic at Hampden I didn't fancy us in extra time or penalties had it went that far, though it was still a sickener all the same after the way we'd played.

A few other ones spring to mind are Tommy Coyne scoring against Rangers in the Cup in the game that Woods sold the jerseys. It was a delightful move between Dougie Arnott, Coyle and Coyne himself where they passed their way through their defence before Coyne slotted past Goram and then just stood in front of the Rangers support with his arms aloft grinning at them. Then there was McMillan's chest down and volley from an impossible angle against Hibs at Fir Park, Kevin Twaddle's winner at Celtic Park and Tony Thomas scoring from the edge of the box against Hearts in the Scottish Cup 3rd Round in the game where Andy Goram made his debut for us and we won 3-1.

Pat Nevin's stoppage time winner against Hearts at Fir Park in November 1999 in the re-arranged game after the first match had been abandoned. Gilles Rousset was sent off for them and it looked as though we'd failed to take advantage of it until our Chief Exec curled in that beauty to make it 2-1. We wore that black change kit that night aswell. I mind another one against Hearts where I think it was Derek Townsley flattened Pressley with a shoulder challenge before charging into the box to score. Hilarious watching Pressley's reaction to it.

At best, 0-0. Anything less then 2-0 to the Jambos.

We got exactly what we deserved tonight and St.Mirren thoroughly deserved their win. We were second to every ball and didn't compete in the middle of the park where we looked slow and disjointed and we never looked like scoring apart from the chance early in the second half. Let's be honest, that result's been coming for a long time now. We are capable of playing some decent stuff but there is no end product to it as we have no creativity, no midfield and no one to hold the ball up in the final third and that's why we will struggle this season. We cannot rely on Ross Forbes to score penalties or spectacular goals to get out of jail every week and he himself badly needs some support in the midfield as he has looked out of his depth in recent weeks, likewise with Giles Coke. And don't even get me started on Craigan and his distribution.

I can't see us winning this one I'm afraid. I reckon St.Mirren will edge it in either extra time or penalties.

Good result after being 3-1 down, I'll certainly take that. Well done to the team and especially Jutkiewicz for pulling us back into that. And what a sickener that must have been for the Paisley muppets. Good to know that they'll be trudging away unhappily back to their Ferguslie Slums tonight.

GET IT RIGHT FUCKING ROUND YOU YA FUCKING BONEHEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fuck you and your shitey wee club.

3-3!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
3-1, game over.
-
Amen to that. As for tomorrow, I'm going for a 1-0 win for St.Mirren.

So what? He's a pundit making a prediction, that's all so why get annoyed about it? He predicted that we'd draw 1-1 with Falkirk the other week and had it not been for them missing a sitter and hitting the bar then he would have been absolutely correct. St.Mirren are on good form just now, having just won their first home game and following that up with a win last week at Falkirk, now they are up against us at home, something they've been pretty good at taking advantage of in recent times. It's not outrageous atall to suggest that St.Mirren could beat us 1-0 tomorrow, nor is it outrageous so suggest that we might beat them 1-0 either, or that the game could end 1-1 or 0-0 etc.
-
I think we'll lose at least one of them.

A few more being Steve Fulton, Neil Pointon, Pascuali Bruno, Gary Locke & John Colquhoun, all Hearts players during the mid 90s and all moaning, nigging, dirty and in John Colquhoun's case, diving bastards. I also never liked that big dirty bastard who played with Livingston in the early 00s, Oscar Rubio.
-
You're right, I forgot that. But the one in the picture is the one I meant, not the one who played for us and scored in the 91 Cup win.

Andy McLaren, Charlie Miller, John Robertson, Bobo Balde, Anton Rogan, Ian Ferguson(the one who played for Rangers) and Alan Combe.

Before that game Aberdeen hadn't won all season and had scored only two goals and had just been gubbed 7-0 by Celtic on the Saturday beforehand, so there was a kind of inevitability about it that they should end that against us. But no one, but no one could have predicted that they would do it in the way they did. It really was a farce of a game, just like watching a five a sides match and Aberdeen really did seem to score every time they attacked. It was a truly shocking result and defensive display from us but at the same time a very enjoyable spectacle just for the fact that both sides looked as though they didn't have a defence between them. After that game we went on something like an eight or nine game unbeaten run starting with a 2-0 win up at Tannadice followed by a 1-0 win at Celtic Park with ten men the following Wednesday. Only Motherwell eh?

Haha they're already talking about how long Mowbray's got left in the job on Radio Clyde just now. Gordon Strachan must be pissing himself laughing just now after he was hounded out the door for not 'being a sellic man' even though he won three titles out of four.
-
And this new look Motherwell team defy the odds yet again. A point away to Celtic is a great result, well done to Gannon and the boys.

This is just set up for a last minute Celtic winner.

Marshall was the best keeper Motherwell have had in the last decade. He was reliable, wasn't injury prone and was a very good all round goalkeeper who commanded the defence very well indeed. It's no coincidence that Stephen Craigan had probably his best two seasons during the two years that Marshall was playing behind him. Yes he made mistakes from time to time, but his good performances more than outweighed those and it was just so unfortunate for him that his real 'off day' for us came in the CIS Cup Final. He was absolutely gutted at the end of that game and didn't even go up to get his runners up medal so it obviously hurt him very badly. But he played a massive part in getting us to that final, with his penalty save at Morton in the 2nd Round to his 'team talk' to rally the players before extra time at Easter Road in the Semis. Age probably got the better of him in the end but he was certainly a far better keeper for Motherwell than Andy Goram, who was either injured, in the headlines for the wrong reasons or looking more overweight and unfit by the week.

Exactly, because that way it was so much more painful for them. As it was, they could smell and just about touch that League Championship and the bragging rights over Rangers that go with it only for it all to be snatched from their grasp at the very, very death.

One of the best moments of the last decade as a Motherwell fan. On the whole, it meant nothing to us, but to stick it to those cnuts in that fashion was just something brilliant. After weeks of them buying tickets for the home ends and crowing about how they were going to celebrate winning the league at Fir Park it was just so, so sweet to shoot them down in flames in the cruelest, most horrible fashion possible. That was soul destroying for them and it still hurts them to this day. It was so funny during the game listening to their fans being all arrogant and mouthy, singing away and then as the game wore on, and they failed to take their many chances to put the game to bed at 1-0 start to subdue and bite their nails as the panic started to kick in as they knew that Rangers were winning. Then in the last five minutes, just as they started to believe that they were going to see it out and they started to kind of tepidly at first sing, "We've Won the League again, Fly the Flag" and "Championees", we hit them with two quickfire goals and their faces turned the same colours as their shirts. And what a sight to behold seeing them trooping away up the road, inconsoloble and in tears with their "Champions 2005" banners dragging in the gutter. And this picture always brings a smile to my face.

Celtic will win, Scott McDonald will score and I thankfully won't be there to see it from behind the big stupid pillars.

I'm not saying that he should come out and tell us that he already bleeds Claret & Amber and that he's always loved the club and used to go Motherwell when playing subbuteo as a wean or anything like that. I know that he is here on a short term deal, and that he will have one eye on moving to bigger clubs, all players do that whether on short term deals or not. The problem I have here is that he's only in the door two minutes, hasn't really done anything yet in a Motherwell shirt and yet he's talking about 'moving to bigger and better things'. I fully understand that he will be looking for teams who pay more, but I just find it disrespectful to the fans of the club who he currently plays with to be so open about it.
