That's my thoughts too. I was still a kid when Hearts were coming to Fir Park and putting four past us, ie. 97/98 when they done us 4-1 and 4-2 and those defeats hurt and their fans were as smug as you can get about it on those occasions so I'll never tire of seeing us hand out a mauling to them.

Great win and surprisingly comfortable. After two poor displays and results that was just the tonic.

Granted, I can't deny he had an absolute nightmare in the 2005 final but over the piece he was a solid and dependable goalkeeper for us and let's not forget he by all means played a major role in inspiring the team to go on and win the Semi against Hearts when we'd just hit rock bottom with their equaliser in normal time. Maybe McCall should have let him give the team talks before some of our recent cup matches...

If we're going down that route then get big Marshall in goals aswell if Hollis isn't fit. I'd have far more faith in him than Nielsen!

Those are pretty shocking and worrying statistics that make pretty damning reading about our youth system and our manager's attitude to it. I attended u-20s matches fairly regularly up until last season and there was some promise there but it's disappointing that nothing has broken through or indeed has been allowed to break through to the first team. I think all of this in some way supports the view that I and others have of McCall, that he is one dimensional and won't look beyond his 'tried and trusted' starting eleven even if that means having to shoehorn players into certain positions ie. Hammell to right back, Faddy on the right side of midfield and will do so even if players aren't fully fit. That for me is a sign of a poor manager and for a club like us who really need to have a good youth system then it's worrying that our manager would rather play unfit players out of position or sign players in emergency loan deals rather than take the opportunity to blood some young players. Friday night and last night are two perfect examples of when the younger players should have been turned to but McCall yet again displayed his one dimensional approach with his selections.

The majority of our points have been picked up against the bottom six, our record against the top six this season has been shocking and outwith our run from mid December to early January our performances have been average to rank and I defy anyone to contradict that. On top of that throw in two absolutely stinking cup performances and I'd say that this has been a disappointing and frustrating season. If we carry on the way we're going as you say then we won't be finishing third either, especially with a goalkeeper who makes Woods look like Oliver Khan chucking in three goals a game.

Our season is over and while Hearts' is too they will want to go down with a bit of fight, something we're not capable of. 2-0 Hearts.

Meh

Quite simply, we don't deserve to finish in the European positions this season as we've been guff throughout save for a brief spell in December/early January. We've also failed miserably in very winnable cup ties and that, combined with our overall poor form equates to this season being a very disappointing one, regardless of what the Happy Clappy Brigade say.

3-0 Saints, disastrous night.
-
Yes....and guess what? I haven't changed my mind.

HT 0-2 and Aberdeen are 2-0 up on Celtic. Think we can kiss goodbye to 2nd place.
-
Absolutely. We as a team have been dire so far tonight.
-
0-2 game over I reckon. P.s our defence is fucking shite.
-
0-1 after 6 minutes.
-
Fair enough but I genuinely don't think we'll lose tonight. Call it a hunch or whatever you will but I'm confident we can get a point at least. They've got key players out aswell and like us their backline isn't up to much so there are goals for both sides in this one and daft goals to be conceded by both, hopefully we get one more at the right end than they do.
-
We'll play better than last night but we haven't got a clean sheet in us. 3-3 with McManus finding the net at both ends.
-
I know it's not popular view but that's how I see it. His effort has been good most of the time but he is very often ineffective and contributes little. I stand by what I said, if he wasn't James McFadden he wouldn't have half the fuss over him and his limited contributions this season.
-
Sadly I agree, he's done at this level. Too slow, can't beat a man and as you say is not a team player, he insists on trying to take on entire teams without passing. He's showed the odd good flash this season but nothing more. The only reason there is any 'fuss' about him as you say is because he is who he is and what he's done in the past.

Full time 3-1 and we can have no complaints about that. Unfit, off the pace and defended poorly are the only ways to describe our performance. The only saving grace is that United took their foot off the gas at 3-0 when the points were secure but don't let that disguise the fact that they were well worth their win and we were poor.
-
3-1 Sutton penalty. We're gonna win 4-3!!!
-
3-0, awful defending and goalkeeping.
-
We started well but United took control and are well worth their 2-0 lead and we're lucky that's all that is at this stage. We look unfit and well off the pace which is understandable to an extent given our pre match fitness conceens. That said our defending for both goals was nothing sort of shoddy and while Vigurs was denied by a superb save and we had a decent penalty shout turned down we really can have no complaints as we've been second best throughout. If this only finishes 2-0 we'll be lucky.

I'd imagine the police presence at that match will be enormous but it's still a potential for trouble given the amount of alcohol the Celtic support will be able to drink in the run up to the game. They have previous for damaging Rugby Park aswell so it's surprising that they've been allowed to participate in Friday night football again. Celtic have a violent and volatile support and when you present them with the opportunity to consume more alcohol then it's asking for trouble.

You mean when clubs held a minutes silence in honour of Nelson Mandela ? A man largely respected worldwide. And yes that's not football related, but it was confined to 60 seconds before matches... Hardly the same as openly pushing an agenda during the game via a largescale demonstration. And Barcelona "are infamous for it" too...well so what? That doesn't make it right.
