Will Hibs be able to bounce back from that gubbing? Of are they just truly mince? I expect us to take something from the game, although I've no idea how our new team will play.

I've missed all the pre-season friendlies but the common theme from just about everyone seems to be we are sadly lacking in pace and width. 2 of the things that have made us so good the past 2 seasons. I think we'll get gubbed over the 2 legs but Europe for me is the (dubious in this case due to logistics) reward for having a fantastic season previously. I'd rather avoid a Hibs-esque result all the same. We don't have the resources to make a stab at Europe so as long as we take points against Aberdeen and Hibs in the opening 2 games that's the priority for me. Looking forward to getting back to Fir Park, but a bit apprehensive about seeing this brand new team.

Really hope the club get a big turnout for the home leg for all the obvious reasons. I'm still quite surprised the crowds didn't increase noticeably when McFadden came back.

As an aside, I think the club should request the Aberdeen game is moved to the following Tuesday or Wednesday. The players will be bloody knackered after that flight back. If Celtic can postpone a scheduled league fixture to take part in a fucking friendly then we should be allowed to delay this game. Naw?

Lapsed and stay away fans usually turn up for these games so hopefully they will again and there will be a decent crowd. Faddy's re-signed; what more incentive do people need to get along?! I feel sorry for the club with this draw. Going to cost them a fortune getting to the arse end of nowhere with very little, if any, profit to be made. This is their reward for a magnificent season?!?!

I'm happy to pay 20-22/23 quid for this game.

The flight time will be brutal. The players will be knackered. Might be a good idea now to ask for the Aberdeen game on the 11th to get moved?

If it was any other player there wouldn't be this drama. It's a measure of the stature that James McFadden is held in by the Motherwell fans that has generated this. I don't think there has ever been anyone like him and there probably never will be. Some folk are getting excited and expressing their emotions/opinions in an (possibly understandably) excited/less refined way.

I can see both sides of it here. When the season ended I had already resigned myself to losing Faddy and was just grateful I got to see him play for us again. Above all others, I expected him to move on at the end of the season and expected that to be the case until McCall started saying what he's said (without being prompted really I might add) that would more than suggest that he was in fact re-signing. McCall is, wisely, usually pretty coy about these things.

I'm quite puzzled why we are trying to sign this guy from Morton. We are more than covered in defence. Just makes releasing Saunders even more bizarre. Regarding McManus... I've long since stopped listening to Celtic fans opinions on players. These are the fans that would have you believe Roy Keane was a huge success for them and that McDonald was pish! They also hunted Strachan but we all know why that was....

Faddy would be immense. Not bothered about McManus actually. We need a better player than Imrie in. Same goes for the guy from Morton. If we get McManus then we definitely don't need him. Higginbotham on loan again?
