  1. I've quite liked the look of Saunders at times. I'd be pretty annoyed if he was released without having a chance to show what he can do after his injuries.
  2. Another kick in the baws with such a late equaliser. And one that looked offside at that. Shame for the young centre half pairing to come so close to keeping a clean sheet. I fear our chance may have gone, but our bad home form cannae last forever. "Injury ravaged Aberdeen side" my arse. Broon had been peddling that pish all week. What a goal by Murph and great celebrations with Higdon and Cummins ending up in the crowd. Questions have to be asked as to why McCall didn't once again bring anyone on at all in the last couple of minutes to eat into time. 3 last minutes equalisers have now cost us 4 points this season and possibly now a place in the next round in the cup. The more of these we concede, the more the players may fear it is likely/inevitable in other games.
  3. There's no difference between Page and Kerr in my opinion, and Kerr hasn't looked good enough to justify being brought in the first place. The guy will of course get my full support and I will happily eat my hat if he has a blinder today.
  4. Oh fucking fuck. I knew it was a bad decision to let Page go out on loan.
  5. On our day we are also capable of being a formidable team though. Randolph may be out for us but Aberdeen apparently have quite an extensive injury list.
  6. Randy missing this game is a major major blow. I'm undecided as to whether I'll be going yet. I'd like to think I will make the effort, so some form of misplaced guilt if I miss it may swing it! I hate these c***s miles more than any other team and nearly as much as Celtic and Sevco. I would go as far as to sayI don't really care what happens in the Cup this year as long as we win on Saturday! I think we can win this but who knows if we will!!
  7. Will we get any explanation as to the in and outs of this? Any sort of defence that it isn't Andy Walker and Rob McLean pointing out what actually gets looked at? Explanation for the lack of consistency? I won't be holding my breath. The SFA can go fuck themselves.

We hung on for dear life for just about the entire 2nd half! Seemed to lose every header and break off ball until a last gasp clearance but a fantastic 3 points at the end of the day and a bit of justice for the undeserved defeat by Utd at Fir park recently. We started on fire and Higdons finish was actually pretty good. Humphreys goal though was out of this world though! An unstoppable thunderbolt and contender for goal of the season surely?!?! Ojamaas pass in the build up wasn't too shabby either. I thought we did ok after that initially, but Utds play through the middle was both clever and effective and too many times they came straight through the middle of us. Their goal seemed to come out of nothing though and at 2-0 the next goal is always important. The game seemed to have a lot of very good shots on target by both teams at this stage. Second half was real backs to the wall stuff and we defended very deep nearly the whole half. Any out ball we had seemed to be wasted and just serve to invite more pressure on ourselves. It would be harsh to single out failures in the team after such an important win so I won't, although there were a couple who I thought were slack throughout. League position and points tally is looking great now, despite many of us (including me) often being quite critical of performances and results. I really just feel this is because the home form is so poor. Swap a couple of home draws and away wins around and I think we would all view things differently. Special mention to the ref tonight whom I thought was atrocious! Let umpteen blatant fouls go unpunished and gave us literally nothing all night. No idea if Utds goal was offside. Hope it wasn't!!
  9. I don't think the club will fight it as they will be on to plums. It will waste money also. What they should do is highlight the blatant "trial by television" that is going on whilst mentioning Lee McCullochs elbow and other gestures that players have made. Higdon got done for fuck all whilst Stokes, Mulgrew et all have made much worse inflamatory gestures since and not a peep. There is just no consistency.
  10. And when you consider what McCulloch got away with!!

Might as well start a topic. Would be great to see us take something from this game, even a point. Who know which Motherwell will turn up though? I see McKay Steven is out for them for 4 - 6 weeks which is a shame for the player but great for us as he's not bad at all.
  12. I can see both sides of the debate regarding the Randolph incident. If an oppositions goalie had done that to Murphy I would be furious. If he gets pulled up for it then questions again need to asked about whether the compliance officer only acts if the media suggests he should. McCullochs elbow on Cummins is still the worst incident I've seen all season and it never got mentioned by anyone in the press! Consistency is all we ask for.
  13. I wasn't getting my hopes up, as great as we were last Sunday, that we were about to go on a good run. The woeful results at home continue and that's got to be concern for McCall, as it sure as hell is for me! Didn't really have any clear cut chances, but then neither did Hearts. Higdon has certainly fluffed a few chances this season when you would've liked to see him put the laces through it. Reminded me a lot of the last game between the teams at Tynecastle as there was nothing, bar a fantastic strike between the sides that day either. I could whine and moan about how bad we are, how Hateley cannae cross and we still don't have a proper left sided midfielder, but the facts remain that we are no better or worse than anyone else in the league really, and are still only spitting distance away from the top of the league despite us not really playing well all season.
  14. Our results at home this season have been piss poor, only 1 win (probably the worst record in the league?) and I bloody missed it!! I therefore haven't seen Motherwell win at Fir park since the last time we won at home which was the 5-1 game v St Johnstone back in April!!! I reckon I might miss this one aswell due to the petrol pence that it will incur. The fact that it's a 12:30 ko and is on Sky might just swing it. As long as we win though. Would probably settle for a point.

Thoroughly deserved win and great performance. I'll shut my face. (For now....) Panic level down graded.

Credit where credit's due. What an excellent first half. Need another goal though.

Fair play to the guys making the effort to get to this one. Hope your endeavours are suitably rewarded. Is Hutchy back for this? Any chance of McCall giving Carswell a chance? Would take a point right now but cannae see by another defeat. I've abandoned all hope!
  19. We went into administration in April 2002 so I would say players qualify for this team if they played for us after that date. A team consisting of players after we exited administration would be a different debate altogether.
  20. As I said, I didn't give it a huge ammount of thought. Replacing Partridge with Reynolds or Hutchy would possibly be a better shout.(Hutchy was on my bench at least!) You're being a bit unkind to Patridge. If I remember we missed him a bit when he left and he would walk into the present defence. The midfield would work but is probably too attack minded. You could argue Jennings in for one of the front 3 of McFadden, McDonald or Jutkiewicz would give better balance.(Jennings was also on my bench!) but if not O'Brien then who else at right midfield? Foran?! Humphrey?! McBride?! I rated the wee Alan McCormack we had also. I agree Melvin. My favourite 11 and best 11 are nearly 2 different teams!!
  21. I like Lasley and he's been a great player for us, but he couldn't and can't play left midfield so it has to be Pearo in there every time. For the record Pearo and McDonald are in my team based purely on what they were capable of when on top form as both of them have left a bitter taste in the mouth.
  22. The way the Higdon thread is going has got me thinking.... What would be your best team since administration? I've not given mine too much thought so I could change it later! Randolph Hammell Partridge Craigan Corrigan O'Brien O'Donnell Pearson McFadden Jutkiewicz McDonald Subs: Ruddy Porter Clarkson McCormack Jennings Hutchinson Discuss.....
  23. TV pictures show Higdon was onside for the disallowed goal on Saturday! 4 major decisions owed to us this season season (Apparently they even out remember...) I've yet to be convinced we're not in one. Especially if this form continues.

He missed a crucial one against Aberdeen in the cup mind. I'm not saying I want him off penalties though.
