Fucking Hateley in midfield!?! When will the penny drop?

Any good links to watch this game on line? Quite fancied going to this but at 25 quid to get in plus the same in petrol, 12:45 kick off and on a Sunday I don't think I'll be the only one thinking "Fuck that!".

Easy. The Scottish Cup final of 2011. The much mentioned Dundee Utd game only really hits home now that we could've won the league that year. It didn't feel it at the time, and watching the footage there (which was painful) the crowd didn't seem like they believed it either. Lack of belief all round? Other notable mentions go to... The CIS semi when Shaun Maloney scored with that indirect free kick in the last minute. 2006? Ayr Utd Cup defeat in 2000 when if we had won we would've had a then 2nd Division Partick in the quarters at home. We had a very expensive inconsistent team that season. Boyle hounding Shaun Teale crawed it for us. The Odense home game. The recent Rangers cup game.

What the fuck?!?! I live in Dundee at the moment and made the fruitless trip down for the original game. Being a season ticket holder I now, like others, have to face the added hassle of organising to get my season ticket to someone in advance to pick up a ticket or face a long queue on the night. Then there's the petrol.... Why not just use a voucher at the back of the season book? Worst of it is, me and my old boy had match abandoned tickets in our paws and handed them back as the steward said season ticket holders don't need the vouchers!!! Motherwell don't do themselves any favours sometimes.

Agree with Steelboy on this. Worst Utd support I can ever remember seeing.

It was absolutely packed. Great turnout. Distinct lack of players though.

Big game on Saturday. It would be great to get a win and a decent performance, but I'd settle for a scrappy win. Watched the ICT v Utd highlights there and Utd look as bad at defending as we do! As an aside, I'd take Richie Foran back in a heartbeat (cue big debate about his ability v work rate!) I don't think Utd have won since the Dundee derby? That's 6 games without a win and a few heavy defeats in there also so you know what that means....

Meh. That was pish, but we got off lightly. Wish I hadn't bothered driving the 160 miles spending 3 hours in the car when the full team decided they weren't going to show up....again. We all wanted a reaction from Wednesday and we certainly didn't get one. That is the most worrying thing about today. Humphrey and Cummins inexplicably start and contributed hee haw in a bizarre formation and once again only Randolph can hold his head high. I was more annoyed after Pittodrie last Sunday than today to be honest as the expectation I have or us playing Celtic at Fir Park now ammounts to hopefully not getting involved in any altercations before or after the game with the travelling persecuted mhankies. I am saving my full annoyance for a rudderless Utd walking away with points next Saturday. Today is just another in a long line of shite gutless couldnaegiveafuck performances against the Old Firm.

I'm starting to crawl out of the dark place that Wednesday had put me and hoping for a good response tomorrow. Can't see anything other than a resounding defeat if I'm being honest though. Watched McCalls pre-Celtic press conference on MFC TV there and he comes across quite differently than every other interview I've seen him give. I wonder if he now realises the strength of feeling of disappointment amongst the Motherwell support about Wednesday nights defeat? He was asked if he needs the Motherwell support behind him tomorrow and he pretty much said he's not bothered! I feel a wee bit sorry for him actually. He looked pretty down. I actually think we'll have a really poor support tomorrow. A combination of fans fed up with the grief and hassle that Celtic bring now keeping them away permanently, the lingering disappointment of Wednesday and the fact that most folk no longer get their hopes up for this fixture anymore

What are the chances of McCall playing Hateley in his correct position tomorrow though, as well as other glarinly obvious changes?

I'd like to think McCulloch might receive retrospective punishment for his shocking elbow on Cummins? Should Vincent Lunny be getting an email?

I reckon I feel lower today than after the cup final. I've lost a lot, if not all confidence in McCall after him and his team were outplayed, out fought and out thought by the worst manager in Scotland and what was essentially a reserve team. If anything good can come out of last night it is surely the final realisation for McCall that Hateley isn't a midfielder, Kerr and Cummins are having mares and Humphrey isn't actually a footballer. Don't hold your breath though. I fear a cricket score on Saturday. .

So if everyone else can see Hateley can't play midfield, Humphrey is an imposter, and Cummins and Kerr are flapping....when will the penny drop for McCall?

Probably the most embarrassing capitulation I've ever witnessed from a Motherwell side, and against a team merely holding their own in the 3rd division and with half their better players missing. Players and management should hang their heads in shame for the embarrassing keech served up tonight.

Blame lies at McCalls door for this. An embarrassing lack of fight.

I don't think any of the comments on the Aberdeen thread are over the top. We had just thrown away a 3-1 lead with minutes to go! What did anyone expect?!?!? Of course people are going to be angry/frustrated/annoyed at that.
