Hopefully a good turnout. Players like Hammell are worth their weight in gold to Motherwell and easily one of the most consistent perfomers we've had in my lifetime. Absolutely crimminal he's not been capped more.

That's just rude! I suppose he doesn't need to say anything, I just thought it was quite unusual for an influencial player, whom I assume everyone really wanted to keep, contact situation just sort of fizzling out without a comment from either the club or player.

Was Jennings contract offer not withdrawn when it was realised the h**s would no longer be in the spl? Still haven't heard a peep from Jennings about his departure. He with with us for 3 years and enjoyed relative success. Personally I'm a bit hurt to be honest.

Hopefully the "issues" are any star featuring in the game is therefore contractually obliged to play for Motherwell this season!

I agree yosemite. McFadden playing for Motherwell could/would put an extra 1000 people in the stands at Fir Park every game and would essentially pay his wages. It's not going to happen though as we're apparently absolutely skint and won't risk anything.

Like every season I look to not be involved in a relegation dogfight and this season is no different. There are so many variables to consider this season though. We've lost important players every summer for as long as I can remember, but the loss if Jennings gives me the fear like never before! Our squad has absolutely no depth and the absence of Lasley or Hutchison could be costly. The importance of a good start cannot be underestimated and on paper we have an opportunity to get that so I may re assess my views after the first 6 or 7 games.

I'm up for the charter with my old dad for Ukraine or Denmark. Couldnae take the heat in Greece or Turkey and have no desire to visit Instanbul any roads. Will see where we get drawn for the other game but plan on going to that aswell. Fuck it. You're a long time deid!

For me, I think we're really going to struggle without Jennings. Look at how much we missed him when he was out last year. God help us if Lasley gets injured or suspended as he almost certainly will. The rest of the team I'm pretty happy with, I don't think any of us can demand a better quality player in any position really, but a replacement for Jennings is absolutely essential. Bear in mind we will probably have to sell 1 or maybe 2 of the following, Randolph, Murphy, Hutchinson, Humphrey, by the end of the current or January transfer window.

I would've thought we would've heard more about Jennings leaving from the club or even the player himself? I really haven't liked the look of Hateley in midfield anytime he's played there and it certainly isn't worth shifting half the team around to accommodate.

Totally agree. There is a rally call on Pie and Bovril echoing a similar sentiment to the fans of all SPL clubs. Except Celtic, naturally. It would be really disappointing for the Motherwell board to have allowed the fans to make their decision in which way to vote, only for the same apathy to be shown at the turnstiles. It's always great to see Fir Park with a healthy crowd in it, and the financial uncertainty means we need more bodies through the door than ever before. Not just at the big games!

As someone above said, we've had to slash the budget by £200k before we've even look at what the Rangers situation is going to cost us. We've lost Craigan, Clancy, Forbes and a whole host of kids. Jennings looks like he's offski and we almost certainly have to sell Murphy, Hutchy, Randolph or Humphrey before we can even think about bringing anyone at all in. Faddy and Clarky would undoubtably improve our team but based on the above, how the hell do we pay them?!?! That said, Faddy especially turning out for Motherwell could bring anything between 1500 and 2000 extra bodies through the door. Might even tempt back the folk who only turn up for the big games to attend more regularly?

It's the stuff dreams are made of, but I still refuse to believe it. Turning out for the 'Well in Hammells testimonial could put an extra 1500/200 on the gate. But who needs Faddy and Clarky whn we have Omar Daley mind?!?!?!?
