  1. Swithering whether to go or not. Money being the main reason but also because 1) for some reason I hate St Mirren, 2) the view from behind the goals is shite and 3) I've yet to see us play well at this ground let alone win!!! The team are playing some great stuff just and I said before the Hearts game that if we won that I would definately be going to St Mirren..... I wonder how we'll cope without Lasley. He has been in great form. Our thread bare squad is going to be tested without one of it's key players early on, but you could argue that everyone of our starting 11 is a key player considering there isn't a single tried and tested replacement for any position!! St Mirren, if you listen to Chick Young are going to finish 3rd this season. Absolute keech! But they have signed some good players in Teale, McGowan, Thompson. That said I will be disappointed if we emerge with anything less than a point.
  2. Needed cover badly even with Saunders fit. Unless McCall feels the guys currently sitting on the bench are going to be good enough if called upon.
  3. An absolute disaster for both the player and the team.

    Big Hutchie

Totally agree. Whilst executing 1 of those headers he was completely taken out with another late and dangerous challenge from a Hearts player. The ref didn't even give a foul and only stopped the game because it was a head knock!! That first time pass down the line was outstanding. Reminded me of the type of passes I play.
  5. The atmosphere at the two home games has been great. I love the "KEITH"!! chant and my dad has even been clapping along and we sit along at the "C" in the East Stand.
  6. Despite us playing well (and sitting top of the league!) I'm quite nervous about this one as St Mirren are playing well themselves and look an entirely different proposition to the last few years. Lasley is a massive loss for us in the middle and it remains to be seen who will partner Jennings in the middle. Personally I'd go with Forbes in there as I've never liked Hateley in the middle. Swithering whether to go as this new soulless stadium has an atrocious view and the stewards are arseholes.
  7. I don't think Hearts had the ball for about 15 minutes after we scored! My only concern/criticism would be that there seemed to be no desire to get the second goal and kill the game off. We needed to be more clinical in the final 3rd. We were so on top but only 1 goal up. It would've been crimminal if Hearts got anything out the game despite it being so one sided and yet we were still stressing at the death!!
  8. Looks like Jefferies departure hasn't affected them too much then. Hopefully they'll be tired after last night, although maybe the good win will give them a confidence boost which they'll carry into Sunday?
  9. This. Murphys inclusion in the national squad might lead to me giving a fuck again so it's negated that at least.
  10. I'll take a point from this right now to be honest. I think we are as weak on the right as we are strong on the left and although I don't want dann McHugh right away, that front line isn't going to trouble many teams. Part of me thinks it's absolutely crimminal we don't have another recognised striker on board.
  11. What is a "main" signing?!?!? Is ours Law or is it Higdon?
  12. Really?!?!?! You're right. What a load of keech!!!
  13. I'd settle for a point to be honest (unless we hammer them for 89 minutes and then concede late!!), as all the teams are still finding their feet, a point on the road is generally acceptable and I don't want to be greedy! I also don't think Killie will be as bad this year as some pundits are predicting
  14. First chance to post since Saturday. Absolutely fantastic start to the season and great to get win under our belts after day 1. To echo what most posters have said, we were great going foward and Law, Murphy and Hammell all linked great. I was impressed with Higdon to be honest, Lasley and Craigan had good games and everyone else got pass marks. Law certainly has added a much needed creative edge to our play. I thought the referee had a shocker and I'm surprised more people haven't picked up on that. We had 3 players booked for hee haw whilst he missed, or chose to ignore a blatant handball by ICT and a body check to Murphys face. He also gave a foul, without even seeing it, in front of the East Stand when he turned round and saw the ICT player on his way down despite not being touched. The free kick they hit the post with wasn't a foul in the first place either! We did ride our luck a bit a times. Had ICT been a bit sharper in front of goal we would've conceded at least 1 but thems the breaks and plenty have went against us in the past. My/our concerns are now that Murphy is so instrumental to anything good we do, how the hell do we replace him if he is injured or worst leaves!
  15. Would be great to get off to a good start and get 3 points but it's Motherwell so you have no idea how things are going to pan out! I have a feeling that we will play well, but I'll still go home disappointed!
  16. I know! Mental. I knew our goal was good at the time but bloody hell that is pin point passing at it's best!
  17. It does what it says on the tin. I'd be willing to take it off your hands. Would pay for it. Obviously.
  18. £28 is what it would cost me in petrol to go to see Motherwell play in Dundee, Edinburgh, Perth etc. I'm looking forward to this game and I make it no secret Leeds United are my other team. Although obviously still want Motherwell to win!! Hopefully Gradel, Snodgrass, Becchio and McCormack are playing. Hopefully get to speak to some Leeds fans as I have plenty questions about the medias perceptions about the Revie era, chasing the dream and the fall from grace/Bowyergate, -15, Ken Bates, concerns and their promotion chancesand why they are so hated!!
  19. Can't make this game now and I'm disappointed as Craigan has been a good servant to Motherwell and I would like to contribute to his night.
  20. My only memory of the cup final, and certainly only positive one, is Humphrey running the length of the Well support clapping just before kick off. I like him.
  21. Dann Touch screen phones....... Anyway, the lack of band going all the way round is my only complaint. Disappointing that feature could not have remained a constant.
  22. With the greatest of respect to thistle it's hardly the most inspiring of opposition. Would it not have been better to make the Leeds game his testimonial? Still, I'll be there anyway and hopefully it'll be a big turnout although I fear it will be as poorly attended as Dougie Arnotts was.
  23. After reading the official sites ticket information on the Leeds game, it would appear it's all ticket? Surely not?!?!
  24. Leeds were no great shakes in the 80's so I'm pretty sure the Leeds fans would rather not have their heads stuck there!! The fact remains that Leeds Utd are revered and despised in equal measure and despite not being in the premiership have a massive fanbase who have been through the mill since the Risdale era. Unless Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, or Chelsea decide to turn up with a full squad who exactly are some people expecting Motherwell to play in a pre season friendly?! The truth is sadly there are Motherwell fans among us that enjoying pouring water on other Motherwell fans excitement for whatever reason. There were posters that had a go at folk for having the audacity to get excited about McFadden returning with Everton remember!!! I' delighted Leeds are coming to Fir Park. They have had loads of prominant Scottish players and a fascinating history with the ultimate highs and lows, but I appreciate they are a bit like marmite.
