    Van Der Gaag

Too stressful if I remember. I blame it on the jester strip (although I appreciate we're not wearing it that day). Notice how nobody goes to celebrate with Van Der Gaag after scoring the goal the preserved our top flight status. Very strange.
  2. I always think we'll lose but for Easter Road I actually thought we might get something from it! That's the last time I do that! I always hate games against St Mirren as they are a terrible team, yet one we nearly always struggle against. Randolph Hateley Craigan Reynolds Hammell Humphrey (hopefully) Lasley Jennings Gow Murphy Blackman We should win this one but I'm not holding my breath.
  3. Someone's taking the piss. This is just unbelievable.
  4. I'm not so sure. Would it not (hopefully) draw attention to the fact that smaller clubs are continually the victims of shocking officiating and noone seems to care? I think the only ones who couldn't see the irony in Lennon/Celtics moaning were the moaners themselves!
  5. Totally agree with both Diggle and Steelboy. Surely somebody has to say something?
  6. Craig Brown is a fantastic ambassador for Motherwell, possibly the best we have ever had. However, McDonald was so bad yesterday that it beggars belief Broon can't even use a few cafefully chosen words to illustrate that. We had more players booked yesterday than we have had in the previous numerous games combined, and all for dissent!! What does that tell you? Fuck, we even had two players booked for having the audicity to allow their legs nearly to be broken!!! Time for the gloves to come off Craig! No need to go all "Lennon" on the refs but we're getting the piss taken out of us and we need to defend our corner!
  7. They're both magic. The fact that we haven't really bemoaned the loss of Ruddy since the season started speaks volumes about how good Randolph is.

    Offside?

How bad a decision is this? Absolutely crimminal!! Imagine it happened to Celtic?!?!?!
  9. Totally agree. Levien is a fucking arse. Kyle n'aw, whit a donkey. Calling up Wilson before Reynolds is absolutey staggering, it beggars belief. I washed my hands of the national team yeasr ago because of pish like this but with every subsequent squad it can fuck off even more.
  10. Very disapointing day all round. We were easily worth a point but a few factors contributed to not getting it. Have we ever won a game where Hateley has started in midfield? He is not good enough to play there and was constantly being pulled all over the place. I would rather have played Fitzy there! I thought Saunders was atrocious at right back also. Craigan made a terrible mistake but generally is solid so slating him would be unfair. It probably was the single biggest factor in costing us a point though. Paw should've made the changes much much earlier. Dougie McDonald.....fuck me. I hate Neil Lennon so much it scares me but I'm possibly, just possibly starting to sympathise with him. Nobody in the 'Well end could comment with any certainty that the goal was offside, but if it turns it he was onside as a few folk are now suggesting then Paw should go aff his heid! A few match reports have also said the game became bad tempered! Aye, 'cos Hibs put in some shocking and needless tackles right at the end! First that odious wee wank Liam Miller boots the ball off Blackman when he's already on the ground. Randolph is then caught very late. So late the Craigan has a word with the Hibs player and both Craigan and Hibs player get booked!?!?! What the fuck!!! Then Reynolds gets caught very late indeed, it should've been a red. Reynolds has very strong words with the Hibs player as he gets up and both players are booked again!!! Unbelievable! Broon should be going off his head about these decisions. They were completely unacceptable.
  11. I was planning on going to Easter Road regardless of last nights scores. I still can't fathom how Hibs managed to beat anyone 1-0 let alone Rangers 3-0 at Ibrox!! Astonishing. That said, one swallow disnae make a summer and Hibs are still pish as far as I'm concerned. I'll be hoping for a point from this to be honest.
  12. Can't argue with that can you? As comfortable a win as you're ever likely to see and a long over due pumping handed out. Make no mistake, these are good, even great times that we are living in. The league table looks great, and we've been third for 5 or 6 weeks now. I will remind myself of this whenever I start to moan! My concerns now turn to Blackman, Gow, Murphy, Jennings, Humphrey, Murphy and Reynolds all being lured away! I actually thought Fitzy did quite well and Casagolda looked very useful when he came on. St Johnstone were very poor and I thought the ref was too. The elbow on Humphrey was shocking and deserved a yellow at least. Crowd as others have said was terrible, but bizarrely I don't think it would've been any worse if we had been bottom of the league!
  13. Exactly, but that's all been forgotten about. Sweep, sweep as the "Celtic broom" ushers away any wrong doing once again.
  14. Dirty, shitebag polis bastards. I wasn't even there and I'm riled. Great result and most unexpected.
  15. Beat me to it!!! That said, who knows?!?!?! This is Motherwell and anything could happen. A defeat would be a disaster though. We can't continue this poor run of home form for many reasons. One of them being it is totally undoing our great away form!!
  16. Jester one was horrific. Maybe it would be remembered more favouravely if the team that wore it hadn't been pish aswell.
  17. What about how the game will go? Any thoughts? Are Lasley and Murphy going to be fit? If we have a full squad to choose from then I'd be hoping to take a point, and a point is all I think we are going to get as ICT are going really well and have been playing some good stuff. Of course, apart from the Accies result we haven't been doing too badly ourselves. Seems like stating the obvious I know, but it would really set the season back if we end up taking zero points from Accies, ICT and St Johnstone!!

Aye those two would be in it for me also. Driving home after East End Park that night was one of the angriest I've ever been. That whole season was torture infact.

The Dundee Utd 5-4 game was torture! We were 2-0, 3-1, and 4-2 up in that game. To throw a game away once is bad enough but 3 fucking times!!! Just awful. You've mentioned a few bad ones there Steelboy! It's all coming flooding back.

Again, how can you pick just 5!!! These ones spring to mind right away, but there are certainly many! v Ayr Utd. 3-4, Scottish Cup 2000 v St Johnstone, 1-2, Scottish Cup 2000 v Dundee Utd, 4-5, SPL, 2005 v Aberdeen, 5-6, SPL, 1999 Saturday just there!!!
  22. Difficult to pick just 5!.... James McFadden Stevie Kirk Tommy Coyne Dougie Arnott Davie Cooper

    Well V Accies

Having now calmed down (only slightly) I am now objective enough to once again realise that these types of results always have, and almost certainly always will blight Motherwell. What is now important is how the management and players learn from their mistakes and respond to this set back. At least a point at ICT will be good response. Although we were poor to say the least, it is also sadly not the first or last time a referees incompetence will greatly influence of a game we are involved in. There is nothing we can do here. A worrying aspect that has crept into our game in recent times is the ammount of costly penalty misses we have made. Our conversion rate is fucking chronic and has to be addressed now! It's one thing to miss one in a game that we still go onto win, but the past few seasons have seen us spurn gilt edged opportunities and it's costing us points. This slide has to be addressed as 40/50% success rate is piss poor and costing us!! Motherwell missing a penalty used to be a rare bird, now it's almost the norm!

    Well V Accies

It gives me no pleasure to say I correctly predicted the scores a few pages back but that was easily the worst performance and certainly the worst result of the season so far. How much we missed Murphy and Lasley was very telling but the players we have should still be enough to beat a team that had only won 1 game in the previous 9, at home n'aw!!! We could've played all night and still not scored as our ability to play short crisp passing was (and frequently is) non existant! We played right into Accies centre halves hands by constantly punting long aimless balls down the middle and didn't even remotely match Accies in the effort and desire stakes. Hateleys penalty was fucking pathetic. Possibly worse than the two that Jim Hamilton took and missed a few years back. I really want to get stuck into him for that penalty miss as it almost certainly cost us at least the point and the whole momentum of the game would've shifted. That said, like Forbes, I never want to see him hit another penalty again. However better players than Hateley have missed penalties but our conversion rate in the last couple of seasons is fucking appalling. At least when Richie Foran or Ged Brannan stepped up you could bank on a goal!! Accies didn't even try to score after they did. Their time wasting, diving, moaning and man handling throughout was embarrassing. They used every trick, and by trick I mean cheat, and the ref let them away with it. The ref didn't punish them for their timewasting and should've sent off their man for the penalty. I'd like to think that Broon in jest will announce he is writing to the SFA for clarification over that decision! I hope Broon and Knox boot their baws this week at that wasn't even nearly good enough. Not even fucking close.
