  1. Our inability to grind out anything in games there is nothing in is killing us. From our 9 defeats this season, 5 were 1-0’s, and there was nothing in any of them between the teams really, yet did we even look like scoring and/test their keeper in any of them? Also, Dundee down to 10 men v Rangers today for 70 minutes yet not collapsing like we did and getting a credible point. With St Mirren and Dundee appearing to get their act together we are going to have to do likewise.
  2. Another week, another nailed on defeat. The best we can hope for is the other teams near us didn’t pick up points. Grim stuff.
  3. That’s it in a nutshell for me. Something doesn’t feel right about the whole season and hasn’t done since as early as the summer recruitment unfolded and the early defeat to Accies put the lid on it for me. God help us if St Mirren and Dundee somehow get their act together, but hey, profit margins are up, eh?!?!
  4. Robinson said in the press yesterday he fears/expects our “better players” to leave in January? Which ones would that be?!?!
  5. So far so good. Got to wonder why Johnston hasn’t been playing lately.
  6. Wow! You can literally count the positive posts from this entire forum, including yourself, on the fingers of one hand regarding the first team in recent months. What an utter hypocrite!
  7. Quite a contrasting reaction from the u-20’s going down to 10 men today from the first team last Sunday.
  8. I think we’re playing a very dangerous game by assuming we will definitely finish above St Mirren and Dundee. There’s no denying they both look appallingly bad, but we’re absolutely rotten ourselves and the gap between us and them isn’t insurmountable. If either win a game in the next 6 (as I’m fairly certain we won’t) then the head to heads with them at Christmas and after the break will be nerve shredding affairs! Someone made the point (possibly on P&B) that it could be entirely possible that we only beat 2 teams all season and still stay up. And comfortably!
  9. We signed about 7? 8? players in the summer? We could’ve quite easily not signed a single one in the and it would’ve made literally no difference to our season so far! With the exception of Aldred who was hardly an unknown quantity, not a single one has made any meaningful impact and most have barely featured at all! We must be pissing away literally thousands of ££££’s a week for no reason and whether it’s “in the budget” is neither here nor there.
  10. Hard to say. They signed off on the “12 - 18” signing strategy after all....
  11. It’s been put to me that we went down to 10 v Celtic twice last year and not only didn’t collapse, but also didn’t concede! And with virtually the same set of players! So what’s so different now? Robinson is 100% living on borrowed time but a lot of the players need to have a good look in the mirror, and that’s even accounting for the fact that some of them just aren’t very good.
  12. That’s my point. There’s none. Carson, Hartley, Tait, Aldred, Main, Cadden et al all talk a good game but will be now forever linked to one of the most embarrassing humblings in recent years. Still, “we go again”, eh?
  13. Spot on. Completely agree. Got a bit of sympathy for McHugh actually. The sending off doesn’t justify the collapse however. Where are the leaders in our team? Nobody got any professional pride? Time for an official complaint about Thompson.
  14. I don’t think we’ll get anything from any of them and there could quite easily be a few horsings in there. If that’s indeed the case we should ask for a new manager from Santa!
  15. It may well be it for a few of us but I’d say there’s zero chance of him getting binned. Many of us demanded 6 points from the St Mirren a Dundee games and we duly got it but the clock is still ticking. Whilst none of us were realistically expecting to get anything today, it really shouldn’t be beyond us to keep it respectable as other teams have done. I certainly wouldn’t trust him with anymore funds in January based on the summer recruitment. December will make or break him. Not only can we not sustain any more capitulations like that, but we can’t also not pick up anything at all, regardless of how tough the fixtures are.
  16. Getting beat is one thing but a collapse like this is something else.
  17. Momentarily. We found other ways to shoot ourselves in the foot though. McHugh is a liability.
  18. Same old, same old. Nice early goal to settle them down. So easy, so predictable.
  19. I suspect we’ll lose but you never know. Hopefully we can at least make a game of it and not concede in the opening few minutes.
  20. On the face of it, it just doesn’t make sense. The only one of our weak weak forward options who actually looks like he knows where the goal is and he gets nothing more than cameo appearances.
  21. What a hit for the goal! The emergence of Turnball has quite possibly saved Robinson’s job. You wonder who else is ready to step up and could’ve saved us pissing away wages on Donnelly, Taylor-Sinclair, Gorrin and Sammon to name but 4 who have contributed absolutely zero! Literally thousands of ££££ per week for guys to not even fill the bench, but the stands or the treatment table! The lack of quality up front is killing us. We knew last season Main and Bowman was never going to be good enough to lead the line and 2 league goal between them doesn’t tell us anything we didn’t already know.
