What a joke. There was nothing "mistimed" about it whatsoever. It was a delibrate maim. Hughes has proven himself to be an arsehole beyond all reasonable doubt also with his mouthing off also.
I never go to the games expecting a win and Saturday will be no different. Killie look to be playing a lot better in the last few weeks, but we are on a great run and certainly should be approaching the game with confidence.
On another day with another (shite) ref O'Brien may well have been sent off, but on another day with another ref Hibs could quite easily have been down to 8 men.
First things first. An absolutely fucking disgusting tackle from Liam Miller and no-one (except some eejit in America who wasn't even there) could blame O'Brien for reacting. Terrible terrible excuse for a challenge and not the first shocker from Liam Miller at Fir Park. (He had a disgracefull two footed lunge on Corrigan whilst playing for Celtic a few years ago that also sparked a melee. Surprise surprise he didn't get sent off for that one!) He deserves everything coming his way Miller and I hope there are further recrimminations for him. I nearly louped the wall of the East Stand!! It really was that bad.
The ref and linesman were a total joke all day. Numerous late tackles on O'Brein and Humphrey from the full backs. Numerous fouls by those wee shites Cregg and Rankin including an off the ball one right in front of the ref, and Bamba attempting to strangle Sutton and Murphy with every challenge.
I thought although we huffed and puffed we were the only team trying to win it and deservedly did. Great 3 points and what a run we are on. Good times.
Pitch is brutal.
Fuck Hibs. And get it up them.
I would also be delighted if we started next season with no new signings, but retained the services of everyone we have right now. The players seem to like playing for Brown and Knox and now they have signed a contract this will hopefully help sway the players.
I'm resigned to losing Ruddy, Jutkiewicz and O'Brien for definate unfortunately. I'd like to think inroads were already being made to keep all the others.
I think Saunders (along with Forbes and Hutchinson) recently signed a new 3 year deal, and Humphrey may be on a 2 year deal also so we wouldn't have to worry about them just yet.
I'd rather Hibs had won last night as 1) it would keep them right on Celtic's tail and 2) they surely won't now go on to lose a third game in a row?
Despite the result on Boxing Day, I think we're a better team than St Johnstone (the league table proves that) so if they can gub Hibs, then it proves Hibs are beatable by teams previously thought to be inferior to them.
I'm looking foward to the game and we should be confident at least a point is achievable.
I'd probably take a draw, anything else is a bonus.
That said I believe the (Motherwell) players will believe this is winnable and would like to see us have a go. Hibs have the potential to rip us apart at the back but our defence has been well organised of late so hopefully that will continue and we can take something from it.
QUOTE (Welldel @ Feb 12 2010, 11:20 AM)
Forbes showed stupidity and selfishness to knock the ball over the line when it was already on its way into the net.
Exactly. What a disgraceful comment to make and I'd like to see Motherwell take him up on that. It is without foundation. Absolutely shocking. He ran from an onside position to make sure the ball ended up in the net.
You can bet your arse he won't.
I fear we'll lose him and a few others also.
Got to get Hateley, Jennings, O'Brien, Hammell, Lasley and anyone else out of contract signed up asap. Nae chance in my opinion of having Ruddy and Jutkiewicz beyond May though sadly.
You 100% right.
There was a similar arguement surrounding Bob Malcolms straight red at Parkhead 2 seasons ago. Yes it was bad tackle, but would Scott Brown et al received the same punishment for a similar tackle? Not a fucking chance.
I thought we were magnificent. Dodgy officiating and a moment of indecisiveness cost us after playing them off the park again at Fir Park.
We now need to sit down and get Jennings, Hateley, O'Brien, Lasley and anyone else whose deal is up in the summer signed up. I fear Ruddy and Jutkiewicz may be beyond our means.
Gutted to be missing my first Motherwell v Rangers game at Fir Park since 1994 due to work!!! So any result that we get, as delighted as I'll be, will be tinged with a slight sadness at having missed it.
Anytime we play the Old Firm I'd always settle for a point beforehand and this game is no different. I don't think Rangers are anything special at the moment, but we've all heard that before.
Expect mass outcry about the pitch if we manage to get anything from the game!
