Same old, same old, same fucking old. Out the cup meekly again to beatable oppostion. I'd go as far as to say Motherwell should just withdraw from all cup competitions entirely because our exits every year to teams that are no better than at best our equals are as painful as they are predictable. One team learned it's lessons from Saturday, and it wasn't us. Pretty embarrassing to lose 6 goals to St Mirren within the space of 4 days. For the first time since Gannon took over I'm raging with Motherwell. Not good enough, not even fucking close.

Hopefully lesson will be learned from Saturday, I thought all goals we conceded were avoidable. Craigan had a chance to put in a tackle for the first one, didn't, then slipped....second one Craigan and Moutaoukil left it for each other and the third one I felt Ruddy shouldn't be beaten from that angle, but then not enough pressure was put on the crosser. Anyway.... Not sure what team to play, but hopefully Hammell will be back and possibly Hutchinson too to partner either Reynolds or Saunders. Can see it going to extra time. I think we'll lose to be honest. Obviously hope I'll be proved wrong.

Motherwell v Hearts at Fir Park in April 1984. Don't remember much about it except I was sitting in the main stand and lost 1-0. We were relegated that season (possibly even that day) so my first full season watching the 'Well was in the 1st Division.

Don't you start!! I've already outlined my reasons to you for the games I've missed so far and rather ridiculously the guilt still consumes me!! People should check the fixture list before arranging weddings is all I'm saying!!

I can't go due to work. Hopefully we can put right the exits in recent years to entirely beatable oppostion.

Excellent news. Hopefully Giles, O'Brien, Hatelely etc will soon follow suit.

O'Brien is being nothing more than objective in his comments and says nothing to wind anyone up whatsoever. He states he fell over because he was tackled. That sometimes happens you know! I can see why it was given, the guy slid in with a a late tackle and too often these go unpunished. The comments from certain areas of the press stating "that only the ref knew why he gave it" are utter pish. It's quite obvious why he gave it. Maybe the St Mirren fans should be man enough to notice that there was a foul on a Motherwell player that allowed them to gain possession to score the first goal. Albeit, we could've still defended it better. That's fitba.

Dorman was playing, but didn't score. It was Dargo, Mehmet and Brighton that scored their goals against Falkirk. I think it will be a really tight game and wouldn't be surprised by a narrow win for either team or a draw. I'd be pretty annoyed if we got beat all the same, more so as I believe that could it could have a knock on effect for the cup game. To lose both games against this shower would be a sore one to take, but I don't think any of us should be turning up expecting Motherwell victories. That's the road to ruin!

I think one team will win both and I just hope it's us!! I'd be pretty pissed off to lose either to be honest and as our record against St Mirren is far from convincing I'm bracing myself for defeat in at least one of the two games, Hard to decide, but cup game it is as semi finals (despite the numerous great opportunities we've had in recent years) are few and far between.

Jebus! Was that really 10 years ago? Aye, I was there and it was horrible. At least we went on a great run after that though. The Dundee Utd game a few years ago when we lost 5-4 was even worse though as we threw away a 2 goal lead 3 times at 2-0, 3-1 and 4-2!! Crimminal.

Yes I did mean Danny Fox! Didn't mean to be selective in my quoting, at least we agree though on the unwritten Old Firm rule!
-
Not having a go at you Studos, but he's done as much as Liam Fox!! Just doesn't play for a fashionable team.
-
It's a great position to be in. I'd keep it as t is at the moment as none of the guys deserve to be dropped. When fit, I'd definately have Hutchinson in there though .

I liked both the home and away bukta efforts and the '94/'95 home one. I really like this seasons designs, pity about the shoddy quality which has thus far put me off buying them. The jester one was an absolute monstrosity.
-
Nah...I still refuse to accept that experiment ever played for us.
-
What's not to get? I've been thrown out for nothing more than literally cheering on my team! Minding your on business (which I was) and focusing on the games (ditto) quite often still isn't good enough for these pricks. They don't even need a reason and probably have a quota of "ejections" to adhere to.
-
Or any other Saturday! For the record, I won't be there on Saturday. Will never set foot in either of the bigots middens again due to the (jobsworth) stewards and (shitebag) police on duty at these games.
-
Surely sharing a dressing room with Clubfit isn't a sweetner? I think the story is in the Record therefore should be diregarded instantly, however I do wish players wouldn't comment on playing at an alleged higher level unless their game is flawless. And even then... They've probably fed him a loaded question 'cos a story that doesn't have an Old Firm sub-plot is deemed worthless to these rags.

How did Brian McLean play on Saturday? I was at a wedding. The groom on top of the cake was wearing a 'Well strip and the bride was brandishing him a red card!
-
Have heard Butcher and McGhee sing her praises during their time at Fir Park and I can't recall any other manager anywhere every praising a back room team member the way they did. This speaks volumes of the esteem in which she was clearly held. RIP

His "boyhood" team? He's oonly 17 and therefore still a boy!!!
-
Hhhmmm....I hate these games. ie the games we really should be winning. I mean that with the greatest respect to Falkirk, as Motherwell at their ground is a game they probably feel they should be winning. Will Gannon ring the changes? I think a couple are probably in order, but where? Will our strikers get a goal between them? Really hope so, but as long as we win I don't care who scores! As Bollo would say "I have a bad feeling about this". Don't know why... Falkirk by the odd goal.
-
I would be very disapointed but not at all surprised if that came to pass. I have a feeling O'Brien will go to Aberdeen in one of the next two windows.
-
Told you we'd miss Clarkson.

I'd rather the press didn't write anything about our young players. No doubt they'll soon be talking them up for "dream moves" to one of the big two's reserves soon.
