  1. I concede that many Motherwell fans know fuck all about football, but I don't believe for a second that any Motherwell fans go to games wanting and needing to hate one of their own players. That said, there are still probably a few 'Well fans out there that don't rate Jim O'Brien.
  2. Speaking of programmes. If anyone has a spare copy of one from the home leg v Llanelli I'll gladly take it off their hands.
  3. Totally agree. If these guys keep playing the way they are we won't have them for much longer. You just know that bastard now in charge at Pittodrie and the scum will be keeping tabs on them.
  4. The biggest crying shame is that McGhee will never be criticised for the state he left the 'Well in and all his underhand dealings by the mainstream media. Motherwell fans are the only folk that are aware of this charlatans scheming antics!
  5. If there's anything to cool my enthusiasm of yesterday, it's the contract situation of certain players. Coke and O'Brien for starters. Please, please, please get them signed on longer deals asap!

    Home Crowd

A bit disappointed with the attendance today. Surely there's enough been happening to drag a few more souls along?
  7. Abslutely delighted with that! Jim O'Brien was sensational, as was Coke and I thought every player from the starting 11 was solid and professional. My one criticism would be I thought the subs took away the momentum and would rather it had just been left the way it was. That said, O'Brien was probably knackered. I still think Humphreys and Jennings will need to do a lot more to convince me, but all in all delighted to get the first win under our belts and this team has massive potential.

    In's And Out's

Gone is the myth that selling our best players for decent ammounts will see that money re-invested in the squad. "Would you rather get money for them now and lose them in the summer for nothing?" we were asked. I'd much rather we had kept Clarkson and Quinn and lost them for nothing next summer to be honest. Perhaps financially these guys needed to be sold, but despite this and freeing up the wages of all the big earners it would appear we're still scraping around to see who we can get in on the cheap.

    In's And Out's

Quite possibly. I don't think this new striker will be the difference between us winning and losing tomorrow anyway. I'm more concerned Slane might not be fit and will we cope with Kylie.
  10. I'm now of the belief that if we lose this game, it's a dogfight for us this season.
  11. Pearos heider against Killie was a 2-1 win for the 'Well. I also remember a last minute Dougie Ramsay winner away to Dumfermline on the last game of the season '98/'99. Tommy Coynes heider v Celtic in the Cup in season '93/'94 was with only about 5 to go I'm sure. Ray Faminghams diving heider that emptied Ibronx in 10 seconds flat in the late '80's. Willie Falconer's heider 2-1 v the h**s in '97/'98 in the league almost made up for Woods howler against them in the cup a few months before.
  12. I'd like to see O'Brien stay. I think he's definately got something to offer. I wouldn't be surprised if McGhee put an offer in for him in January either. A few of the guys I go with to the games don't rate O'Brien but I think he's got bags of potential.
  13. Don't know what team to play to be honest. Hammell could do well to keep his place as he was as awful on Saturday as he was great against Steau! I'd also say Humphreys and McHugh did enough to warrant a start and if Slanes fit he's got to start in my opinion. Whatever happens, the defending and clearing our lines needs to be much much better. I hate these types of games. The type where we really have to take the 3 points against teams that are historically our nearest challengers in the league at home. More so on this occassion with Aberdeen away and Rangers the following week which again are historically notoriously difficult fixtures to get points from for us. Would be great to head to Pittodrie with 4 points on board for many reasons, mainly the confidence of the team. Whilst this is a must win, it's definately a must must not lose. I have no idea what the score will be though.

    In's And Out's

McGhee really was/is an utter scumbag. What a thoroughly reprehensible piece of shit.
  15. The defence is a concern. I think Hammell should be the most worried about keeping his place after Saturday. Somebody may well have to man mark Kyle and smash him wherever he goes! Their midfield does look quite good. What happened to Killie being skint? How come they've managed to retain all their best players?
  16. It won't be 0-0 that's for sure. Need to tighten up at the back and this is winnable.

    Mark Cameron

I don't recognise this players name, but utterly tragic. Sad news.
  18. Totally agree. We need these players signed up on decent contracts asap. And Big Giles too. I'd like to think that this is something the club have identified and are working on as I type this....
  19. McManus commited one of the worst fouls I've ever seen in that 4-4 draw. Jumped into the back of Jim Hamiltons neck with his knee! McCurry shat it. Didn't even book him.

    In's And Out's

Whilst I wish our new signing the best of luck, this strikes me as a Martin Greechan (sp) type signing and therefore totally surplus to requirements. When are Clarky and Quinn going to be replaced?
  21. Eddie Steelmen is right to be fair. People don't like the truth though.

    Very very nice.

    Old Programmes

Anyone got a spare one from the home leg v Llanneli?
  24. Despite the fact that £20 to get in is a joke and Perth is a bit of a trek, I'm going!!! I'd take a draw right now to be honest, think it's vital we don't lose, followed by a win v Killie!
