  1. The main site only reports the good news.
  2. As painful as that ICT cup exit was, last nights result blows it oot the water I'm afraid in terms of the supposed gulf between the teams.
  3. I'd say it was. As much as ALL the mitigating circumstances are extremely relevant, the history books will state a part-time Welsh team beat a professional top flight Scottish team, at home, in a Europa League Qualifier.

    Canterbury

Nae excuses for the shorts and top being different colours. That's just embarrassing. There was a big launch drive made over the new strip and the resulting quality is incredibly sub standard. Glad the previous two seasons efforts are so nice.

    Canterbury

The people who designed and gave the green light for the goalie strip should be out of a job. What the hell is going on their?
  6. Thank fuck. Any news on the reasoning behind the 1 year deal though?
  7. It summed us up perfectly that a guy that big, fat and slow can more than hold his own against Lasley and McGarry.
  8. Surely not?! This would be worse news than the result/performance of last night!
  9. I think there has been a fair bit of flack directed at McGhee on these boards regarding the state of the squad he left behind. And deservedly so! Hee haw in the media though. Not one word.

    Canterbury

Whit!?! Surely tae fuck not? Having seen the strip up close now on a few folk I have to say I am far from impressed. Aren't Canterbury meant to be quite a highly creditable manaufacturer? The design of the top itself is great, but the quality seems like a fake bought from a cheap market abroad.
  11. Do peole still think we won't need/miss Brian McLean?

    Man Of The Match

    This thread's a joke, right?
  13. The lack of fight was very worrying.
  14. Absolutely. They were no better more than a well organised amatuer team. And they looked more than comfortable against us for 90 minutes. The most worrying thing about tonight for me was the answering of many questions about the worth/ability of the remaining recognised first team players. That said. No other team in the SPL (maybe even the Old Firm?) could cope with the loss of the players we have over night and have 3 or 4 complete novices thrown in and still expect to put in anything better. It reminded me of the post administration team. Minus the fight.
  15. Spot on. Quite possibly the most embarrassing result in the clubs history. BUT.... the Motherwell team that took to the field tonight was not fit to represent us in any shape or form on a pitch and I will judge "Gannons Motherwell" at 5:50pm on August 15th. As someone said earlier, the senior players really let themselves, and everyone else down tonight, and in fact could've played themselves out of Gannons plans altogether. I believe Gannon will now feel he needs more than 6 players now.
  16. A 1 year deal does seem very strange. That's the equivalent of what Clarky and Quinn have/had at the moment! Would like to hear the reasoning behind that (if true). That said, if he looks the part in the next few months, sit him down at Christmas, feed him turkey, and get an extension signed? I'm exicited to have signed a new, and by all accounts, high recommended player right away though.

    In's And Out's

Disappointed to see him go and disappointed in McLean to be honest. A bit daft from him considering Quinn is going and Reynolds might be. A step sideways, or a step back? Certainly not a step foward going to Falkirk. Not irreplaceable to be fair, but he'd been with us a few years and only didn't play because of injury so I don't know why he's greetin. Be interesting to hear why he felt he had to move.
  18. Very impressed with his interview, liked what he said and how he said it. Best of luck to him and I'm sure he'll have the full support of all the 'Well fans. Looking foward to seeing who he brings in. Best of luck Jimbo!
  19. Working at T in the Park, otherwise I would've been daft enough to go with the rest of my crowd who are going.

    In's And Out's

Totally agree. We shouldn't be allowing McLean to leave without a fight. Especially to a team we will be competing directly with. Poor show.
  21. If no money is made available from the sale of Clarkson (and probably Quinn) to Jim Gannon then serious questions need to be asked as to why we, despite selling every half decent player we've ever had, are haemorrhaging money every season at an alarming rate!!! There is no way we can survive unless a completely new team is built and how the hell are we going to do that without re-investing some of these transfer fees?!?
  22. Can only echo what the others have said. I liked the line somebody (Al B?) said about "should Clarkson wear another teams colours etc..." I still feel that way but will now look for Bristol Citys score before anyone elses now and look forward to seeing Clarky re-united with Faddy in claret and amber again one day (It WILL happen!) All the best Clarky.
  23. What a reference that is!!!
  24. That's hardly the fire sale we're experiencing, coupled with the loss of players due to the end of contracts is it? Aberdeen losing Severin? One player?! St Mirren losing Haining? Is that a big deal? They've still got Dorman, resigned Dargo, and now signed Higdon and the goalie Gallagher from Dumfremline!! Falkirk have lost 3 players? Fuck me. I wish we had their problems..... You failed to mention Killie, a team with allegedly well known financial troubles. No mention of them flogging Kyle, Fernandez or Taouil at the moment... I'll get ma greetin' in now if it's all the same. The only thing that can save us from catastophe is if the money made from the sale of Clarky and impending sale of Quinn (and possibly Reynolds) is if some of it is reinvested in the squad. This being Motherwell, I/we are bracing ourselves for being told this will not happen. I won't run through all the well known transfers/ventures we have made profit from in recent times again, but we haven't paid a penny (bar Hammell) for a player in god knows when and have been outbid for 2 players by a St Johnstone team who have spent the last 7 years in the 1st Division! I think questions need to be asked as to why we find ourselves in our current predicament players-wise and how we can possibly be expected to compete if the situation doesn't change asap.
