Why is there nothing on the official site regarding the situation with Buzz, Hughes, McLean and Klimpl? There never has been. The silence is deafening as always! We can only assume the boy from Dumbarton and the Beevers guys have not signed as there is nothing on the official site. Personally I'm resigned to losing Klimpl, Hughes, and Buzz but it's a poor, poor show if McLean is allowed to leave. Nothing though. No updates or anything. I mean it's great that the new strip has apparently been selling well, but there are bigger fish to fry!

I don't see how anyone can possibly even be considered being sold until the new manager is in place. As someone said, apparently when McGhee was being appointed there wasn't wads of cash about yet Porter and Hughes were signed. We don't have their wages anymore, we also don't have Klimpl, Boab, and Buzz's wages anymore either so there at least has be enough of a provision to pay replacements wages? Is the goalie from ICT still coming? There are varying reports that we have signed the boy from Dumbarton and Beavers, but no official confirmation. Do we even have official confirmation of a managerial short list? Time is fast running out. The new strip is great, if you're under the age of 10, but for every other Motherwell fan there is much to worry about. For me, the manager should've been in place by now. Europe isn't really important for me, but not getting detached at the bottom of the league after 5 or 6 games is. We could probably get by with what we have for a few weeks and technically not be that under strength, but long term, unless there is a flurry of activity asap, it looks pretty bleak. I think it's best to treat all speculation which a huge pinch of salt, but if Clarky and Quinn were to leave, it would be best to place all sharp knives and shoe laces out of my reach.....

I'm not sure what to make of the Steve Staunton rumour. Has he even managed a club before? Was his time with Ireland not a disaster? Of course, there's one thing being a disaster at international level and being one at club level. It would perhaps be a bit of a gamble (aren't all appointments to a degree?) If we're going to take a "gamble" Luc Nijholt is my personal choice, although I appreciate he would not be without his possible flaws. Garry MacAllister wouldn't displease me either. As long as it isn't Lennon/Hartson/Williamson/Duffy etc the new manager will get my full, if slightly sceptical, backing.

That's how I feel about it. I worry that if Clarky doesn't sign a new deal by October with whoever the new manager is, we'll have to sell him in January of risk losing him for nothing in the summer!! That said, I would rather we had kept Porter the rest of this season and lost him for nothing in the summer. (Although I'm not the man balancing the books!) Totallty agree with that as well.

It's part of a managers remit to leave the team in a better state than he found it. McGhee most certainly has not done that. A fact that has been completely glossed over by his friends in the media.

If our fanbase had more sway in the media, his disrespectful comments, especially in that Sunday Hearld article, would've ensured he would've had some serious justification to be coming up with. Aye, season 07/08 was phenomenal in footballing terms, and for that I am extremely grateful, but he clearly doesn't to be here, nor Leitch. The two of them were saved from the scrapheap and forgot that almost instantly. Last season, historically, may not have been that bad, but regardless of his poor signings for last season, both in the summer and in January, it's his comments and the fact he has allowed the squad to become threadbare with no forward planning, the clearest indication he was off ANYWHERE this summer.

The starting 11 we could put together from the players we have under contract right at this very second would get us by for a few games in the event of an injury crisis. No more. There is no depth whatsoever. No creativity in midfield whatsoever. If Clarky or Lasley got injured even for one game we would be fucked. It's been pretty clear that McGhee was intending to leave at the end of the season by the lack of contract extentions offered to McLean, Clarkson, Quinn and Reynolds. ie, "I don't give a fuck 'cos I won't be here..." attitude. Even with Hughes, Buzz, Boab and Klimpl we needed additions. We now need to replace them, PLUS a few more to even stand still. An arguement could also be made moves to tie Klimpl down asap were not made so McGhee could take him with him wherever he went. Not what you expect from your manager.

Both these posts are absolutely spot on. Neither McGhee nor Leitch should be made welcome at Fir Park in any capacity ever again. The way they have fucked Motherwell about with neither a here nor there is disgusting. Both Celtic and Aberdeen deserve an enormous ammount of criticism in all of this and their attempted haggling of compensation. If you want to buy a player/manager from another club who is still under contract, then cough up the going rate, or fuck off!
