The new manager is going to have to work an absolute freaking miracle in order to keep us up unless he can pull and minimum of decent 4 - 6 signings out the hat. McGhee has left Motherwells first team squad woefully short of threadbare and deserves a huge ammount of criticism for this. Sadly, this is the only place you'll read of these. Every other day in the papers you are reading about players going from here to there in Scotland. None of the them world beaters, but players that could certainly do a job for Motherwell. We're not even in the mix! Can we yet hope of a Murphy, Keegan, Molloy hat trick to quash our fears!?

I'll be very disappointed in Scott "Mr Motherwell" Leitch if goes to Aberdeen aswell. Boyle took him off the dole queue, offered him a job for life, and told the new manager he'd have to work with him. So where's the loyalty now? Not sure I want Leitch as manager to be fair, but staying on to ensure a bit of continuity would've/could've made all the difference. I'd say we were now odds on to meet Aberdeen on the first game of the season now also!

McGhee may well still technically be Motherwells manager, making his interview in the Herald even more disgusting. His position is completely untenable now and should just go now. I would like someone in the media to perhaps report how much this speculation from the minute Calderwood left has hammpered our pre season. Again! I' would also love someone to ask McGhee if he feels he has left the Motherwell first team in an acceptable condition and if Motherwell are the 3rd best team in the SPL (McGhees words) then why is he so keen to leave.

That would be one sure fire way to have me, and any of the guys that I go to Fir Park with, never setting foot inside the place while he was there.

That will grate with me too, and seeing as no-one in the mainstream media sees anything wrong with everything else he says, it's unlikely they'll scrutinise this either. That was my big fear of McGhee going to Aberdeen and why I'd rather he went to the mhankies. If this is a tactic McGhee employs, and it's far from beneath him, then he should be strung up for it. Also, if he tries to pinch Clarky for anything less than 750k. McGhee knows how good he is, and has been banging on about it all season, so would be bare faced cheek of the highest order to try and get him on the cheap. Time for a word from Boyle on everything that's been said and done by McGhee. An objective word at that. The next few weeks for Motherwell are absolutely massive.

He was good, but I've been resigned to losing him of late anyway as is the Motherwell way of things. Clarky though? That would sicken me, and I'd like to see Boyle place a hefty tag of at leat 750k on his head. Is he worthe that? Probably not, but then Fletcher from Hibs is valued at 4 million, and Clarky's scored more this season. We need a new guy in quickly, but hopefully Boyle has been aware McGhee has been offski ever since Strachan and Calderwood announced they were leaving, so these developments can hardly come as a shock. Nae manager, threadbare squad the likes of us have never seen. Season ticket sales on the up? I'll crack the funnies.....

I'm about this close (insert smiley for man holding 2cm gap between thumb and fore finger) from hitting the panic button regarding our prep for the new season. We need to replace the departing players to even tread water, let alone anything else.

Eric Black won't be going to Aberdeen, as he's confirmed as Steve Bruces assistant at Sunderland. Another name of the list. McGhee could end up getting it by default. I agree with Melvin though, if McGhee is to leave, it has to be NOW! Last week in fact. We need players in like we've never needed them before and even with McGhee at the helm that is proving a very big ask.

Won't be getting Lee Beavers now apparently. Off to either Colchester or Carlisle.

There's a good interview with McGhee on the Official site. It's a shame that most of are resigned to the fact that's he away as the interview makes good reading. Sadly, as all of the soundbites we are being fed increase our speculation, it makes it difficult to believe anything we read or hear at the moment, forcing us to take everything with a pinch of salt. Which then has to include this artcle.

That's my sentiments also. I'd much rather he went to Celtic than Aberdeen cos if it's the sheepy-mehs I fully expect him to come back for Clarky, Klimpl and Hughes!!!! Whatever happens, I hope it's resolved quickly. No doubt McGhees head has been turned slightly by the recent vacancies at Aberdeen and Celtic, possibly diverting his attention away from the task in hand at Fir Park. Just like last season. And just like last season, even if he stays, sufficient bodies may not be drafted in time and another slow start, again with possible European distractions, beckons again! Or it'll all be fine! One or the other.

To be honest, if McGhee goes I'd rather we scrapped this European jaunt period and concentrated on focusing making as decent a start in the league as possible. The gap between ourselves and whoevers at the bottom would preferably be as big as possible for as long as possible, and if it happens to be us at the bottom, swap "big" and "long" (fnarr, fnarr) in the previous sentance for "small" and "short". I don't think that's lack of ambition at all, just the stark reality of the season ahead and retaining our SPL status year in year out has to be an absolute priority, and that's where everyone at the clubs focus should be.

Sorry, don't agree with that. Nearly all Butchers signings were decent. McDonald, Foran, Partridge, Paterson, Craigan, McLean, Buzz, O'Donnell, Alan McCormack etc for gawds sake! Maybe Burns, Sengewald, and "the flask" didn't do much I'll give you. All the seasons under Butcher were decent too. Even the year we finished bottom won't go down as the worst Motherwell team any of us have seen. I don't think Butcher would come back to Motherwell anyway.

Hughes lack of effort and acceptance as Fernadez calmly back heels it by him in the lead up to the winner was fucking disgusting.

Poor poor show from the stewards yet again. But this is what we've come to expect. I wrote to complain about a steward and the complaint was passed on to the general manager, which is the biggest admission of guilt you could hope for. It would be fair enough if when the scum came to town that they were dealt the same stern hand. But then it's "turn a blind eye" time for the full game where all apparent rules such as hanging flags over the top tier of the South Stand become null and void.

I've at no stage ever received a letter from Fir Park regarding season tickets, or regarding the botched new pricing initiatives that magically disappeared. Will have to seriously think about whether I renew my season ticket or not. It will probably be dependent on what signings we make. Of course I'll still be there every week regardless, but the club surely can't expect people to commit when the squad is continually allowed to stagnate.

What do you expect from the polis? I mean seriously. With every day that passes my hatred grows stronger for all of them. Shitebags and killjoys but never there when you need them. Anyway.
