Well he'll get it at Fir Park when Klimpl leaves!

Possibly. I feel sorry for Lasley over losing his place and if Klimpl does leave then Lasley and his ilk should be valued even more for coming back to Motherwell. Guys with the 'Well in their heart are worth their weight in gold. Not to condemn a man before anything is 100%, but I'd be very disappointed in Klimpl if he does go. I thought he wanted to stay and McGhee wanted him to stay? Where the fuck did the might Plymouth come in from?

Will be disapointed to lose Klimpl, especially after buying a Slovakian flag to persuade him to stay, and even more so as I/we were under the impression he wanted to stay. We now need even more players to fill the gap then!
  5. What sickened me about Delameaux was when he went to Aberdeen he scored a couple of crackers against us! Was a good player if I remember.
  6. I'd say the only goalie Woods was ever dropped for regardless of form was Goram. The others were all goalies that were competing for the number 1 jersey along with Woods over the years. But I see what you mean. That said, Goram was probably the only goalie in history to be dropped to appease the Mhankies mock outrage! But that's another story....
  7. Mark Brown was/is an excellent keeper whom Eric Black dropped for fuck all after a half mistake when coming for a corner in a cracking 2-2 draw with Rangers in December 2001. Wasn't even that bad a mistake! He never regained his place and when the club went into administration was deemed surplus to requirements. We then had to suffer more of Stevie Woods, who I don't think was ever dropped despite his catalogue of errors! I'd take Mark Brown back in a heart beat!

    Brian Mclean

Would be absolutely scandalous to let McLean go! Has had a bit of bad luck with injuries but always done a job. Craigan is on his last legs so who are we going to get that is any better?

Wullie K was an excellent young player and can consider himself very unfortunate the way things worked out for him at Motherwell.
  10. I must be the only one who isn't excited about the prospect of Europe this way. Fair enough if the lure of Europe would be a way of attracting a better calibre of player, but that didn't happen last year. Any money that will be made (which probably won't be much) from a two legged tie against a team from the back of beyond won't be invested in the squad. I also worry a lack of pre-season will hamper the long term league aspirations. We did very well to get ourselves out the shite we were in at Christmas. If 99% of fans who are excited about Europe via this route are being honest with themselves, they're only interested in a swally in a foreign land. Nothing more. For the sake of that, I'd rather we were better prepared and focused for the season ahead.
  11. Great result!! Well done to all. Get it round them! And here was me saying we wouldn't win a game post-split! Happy to be proved wrong. Aye, I am worried that Clarky could get snapped up. Difficult to imagine him playing in anything other than a 'Well strip though
  12. I don't read the papers as a rule anymore, but the fact remains we were outbid by St Johnstone for two players. I'm not sure how much spin could/can be put on that, but it doesn't make good reading from where I'm sitting. If Buzz and Hughes leave we will need at least 4 quality additions to even keep our heads above water. If McLean and Klimpl don't re-sign then I don't even want to think about it. Questions need to be asked of Boyle and his penny pinching.

    In's And Out's

Can only agree with the above posts. I've no idea what either of these players are like but it is very worrying indeed a St Johnstone side 7 years long in the 1st Division can pay better/out bid us for two 1st Division players!! If that's a sign of the times McGhee is going have to be really shrewd to bring in anyone of note.

    In's And Out's

I'd be very very disapointed if McLean was allowed to leave. Especially since Craigan seems to be injured and ain't getting any younger. If someone offers McLean a huge salary then I guess there's not much we can do about it, but it'd be madness not to offer him a new deal. I've heard nothing but negative press about Imrie as a person (albeit only on these boards), but what I've seen of him on the pitch looks very impressive. He may be a bam, but he could be OUR bam!!
  15. Hilarious. When I saw it on the telly/bbc webiste, I thought he might have badly twisted/pulled/jerked something!! To attempt to lable that a dive is unbelievable!! Can I just say "Fuck St Mirren"!?! I'd be delighted if they went down this year. And it's looking increasingly likely.
  16. Well done guys! Pity 2008 Supporters Trust 6's winners didn't get this much coverage.

    Hold The Bus

I've been worrying we're technically not safe for weeks and I won't stop until it is 100% impossible. Even a draw on Saturday (or if we'd got 1 point from the last two games!!) will be enough to mean the worrying is over. But that is the worrying thing.... the wheels are well and truly off our bus and the players look as if they can't be arsed! Surely tae fuck this can't happen?!?!
  18. Home win and another inept pish performance from us.
  19. Will never forgive him for selling the White Pele and McGrillen PLUS £100k to bring Eddie May to Fir Park. He should've been chased for that alone! He also thought it was a good idea to sell O'Donnell to Celtic before we played Dortmund. Imagine what Tomy McLean could've done with the money that was given to McLeish?!?! He took over what is widely regarded the best Motherwell team any of us have ever seen and slowly but surely destroyed it as he added his own players. Although I quite liked that centre half Rob Newman we had on loan for a bit. To move to then relegation rivals Hibs at a crucial stage in the season was shocking really! Rangers fans will argue he won them two league titles which he did, but 1 was on goal difference on the final day and the other was Skippy Sunday which wasn't so much won as thrown away. Not by the convincing winning margins Celtic had been dishing out. Even look at the signings he made with Rangers!! (I'm sure a statto can provide us with a few examples!) I'm pretty sure he was out of work when the allegedly great honour of managing his country came calling, and despite glorious failure, I think he could've done much better during his time in charge with Scotland regarding team selection away to Georgia and the wrong choice of subs v Italy. And then like Waldo, escaped any criticism at all from the main stream Scottish media for deserting the cause at the first club that came calling. Fair play for winning promotion with Birmingham, but if he does leave, he's played a very cute game once again in maintaining he appears to be a successful manager. He probably is a much better manager than he was when he was with us, and as much as I think he quite often talks a good game, I'll always hate him.
  20. I've never been more certain of anything that we won't finish 7th. I said after the St Mirren game that we won't win another game this season and I stand by it. I'd absolutely love to be proved wrong of course! EDIT: Just saw the "highlights" on BBC. The defending for both goals yesterday was fucking diabolical. Clarkys penalty was far from convincing aswell.
  21. I'll re-phrase what I said earlier. We need to score more goals. Which I know is stating he bleeding obvious. To be fair, Clarkson has chipped in with more than his fair share. As others have correctly pointe out, no-one else is even getting close. Our inability to get another goal in games we have been totally control of has cost us dear all season. The article is very worrying though. I'm not saying that it won't be difficult, but even if Klimpl, Hughes, and Buzz STAY, we still need to bring in 3 or 4 decent players in various positions in order to even tread water. Anything less and it will not be good. No more loaners like Sheridans, Gabbans, the boy from Birmingham etc. It was absolutely pointless bringing them in.
  22. We need a goal scorer and badly. We've only scored more than 2 goals in a game twice this season (Falkirk 3-2 and Utd 4-0) which is a shocking statistic. Nae goals v Kilmarnock on 3 occassions this season, and none in the last two games against Falkirk and St Mirren. I don't see how McGhee can say we're the 3rd best footballing team in the league to be honest.
  23. Has McGhee not learned his lesson from playing players out of position? Lasley at right back!?!? It didn't work when he was played there earlier in the season, it's not going to work now! Why not try the young guy Saunders who came in a did quite well there at the end of last year? The last two games against St Mirren and Falkirk, lost both, no goals from open play, 4 conceded. Diabolical doesn't even begin to describe it. There's no such thing as a "meaningless" game when there's league points still to play for and the small factor of trying to restore a bit of pride. Mass clearout needed in the summer.
  24. Once again McGhee has talked a good game and when it comes to where the talking SHOULD be done, on the park, we have failed to deliver. Can only echo what the Grew has said here. We can only assume Hughes is staying? If not, get hime tae fuck and get Lasley in midfield and Saunders at right back. That, frankly, is an embarrassment of a result, and as far as I can work out, we're still not mathematically safe, albeit, it would take the coming together of the most unlikeliest of outcomes. No wins in 4 now. What will this be blamed on this time? Especially the last two? This is a Falkirk side remember missing both Higdon and Lovell!!! Absolute total and utter fucking pish.
  25. Bollocks. We are perfectly entitled to moan about the shite we have been served up at times this season, and today and the last game against St Mirren just shows how much our squad is lacking in bottle and quality. I personally would have todays result down as a worse one than the St Mirren one two weeks ago. Falkirk are bottom of the league for a reason and we can't even turn up and put in a performance that can give the fans something to smile about. I stand by the claim I made last week that we won't win another game this season. Not good enough Motherwell. Not even fucking close.
