Not having a go at you mate (although the bit about the "crowd" was quite funny!) but that's bullshit. It's not a supermarket that people are queuing up at, ie, everyone purchasing a variety of goods to differing values and paying by a variety of methods. It's people paying either £10 or £15, probably with either the right money or requiring £5 or £10 change! How much quicker is it really going to be if it's just tickets that they're ripping? Not much. Yeah the police will tell us "Blah, blah, blah, in our experience etc etc". Well in my expereince the police are about as much use as a chocolate fire guard when it comes to making decisions based on common sense and logic.

I don't think that's negative at all really. It will be a close game and I fear Accies will sneak it. They've won 6 games on the bounce, which is very impressive. To be fair, we've been playing very well all in all this year, but have failed to win our last 2 home games against Falkirk and St Mirren despite dominating for large spells. We are also likely to go through a transitional period of readjustment with the loss of Porter and it would appear that McGhee doesn't fancy Sutton, so who knows how the team will line up. I thought most people were in agreement that the starting line up v St Mirren was crazy, and subsequently proved to be most ineffective! So when you weigh up all the variables, I think it will be close, but I'll stick to my original prediction, which I think is a reasonably objective assessment of the game.
-
Obviously I hope I'm wrong, but Accies to sneak it I'm afraid. You don't win 6 in a row for nothing. Hopefully we won't start with the same crazy starting line up as we did in the St Mirren game!! Same team that started recently at Easter Road for me. We need to see if Sutton can replace Porter and there's only one way to do that.
-
All ticket?!?! That's a joke. Do they actually want people to go to this game? "At the request of the police". I'd love to hear theire reasoning behind that. Was the original game all ticket? No. And it only attracted 5,500. What are the chances of this game even approaching a sell out? Two. And we all know what they are.

Can't see this myself. Unless it's the old favourite and familiar tactic of Celtics of signing key players from other teams with no intention of playing them, just purely to weaken the opposition ensuring the two horse race remains.

I know I know. But hey, I slept in my 'Well top on Friday night for "extra power", watched the entire '91 Cup run before I left to come to the game on Saturday, and have been wearing the exact same clothes to every game since the Inverness game as I now percieve them to be a lucky combination as we've been unbeaten and daren't change them just in case! I dream plenty of even getting back to Scottish Cup semi, let alone winning it! We need to be realistic though.
-
Need to beat St Mirren first and considering we've only done that 3 times in 12 games will be a big ask. We can't seem to take our chances either which has meant we've drawn the last 3 games when we should've won them!
-
You probably are. As much as I hate the wee dick and would normally give him a bit of stick (although not the song in question), Hugh Keevins etc will be currently sharpening their knives in anticpation of dragging Motherwell through the gutter. I think ignoring him would be the best course of action for many reasons.

"i Made An Arse Of It"( In The First Half)......mcmghee Admits

McGhee should've seen long before half-time that it wasn't working. If we'd changed it after 20 minutes we might have won. -
The home support was embarrassing yesterday. The 'Well fans that weren't there need to have a word with themselves and get down and support the team in these games.
-
The queue of traffic trying to get out the street you talk of was a joke yesterday. Polis everywhere and not one single one assigned to contolling the flow of traffic. Yet there were horses, 4x4's, the lot, to escort a bunch of 15 year old wanna be hard men who looked absolutely pathetic down to the train station. The polis aren't interested in doing anything remotely useful to help the average football fan, but if they can justify their over the top presence, they can prove there is a hooligan problem to help secure their inflated budget for the following year. Arseholes the lot of them.
-
Yesterday everyone struggled because the starting line up was totally wrong. The pitch of course didn't help, but we need to help ourselves first. Whilst we do have some fickle fans, I think it's unfair to tag the whole support as such. Every team has them. Maybe the management should warn players when they come to Motherwell that the fans will recognise and appreciate endeavour, but if you're constantly not delivering or appearing to not bother your arse, then they'll let you know. I think that's fair enough. Fitzy possibbly be guilty of the former, but certainly not the latter. Klimpl might have taken a few bad touches yesterday, but overall, and certainly since he's been playing in midfield, has contibuted impressively to the cause. People will therefore be more willing to forgive occasional mistakes. Whilst Fitzy has my support and I wish him all the best, I don't think he's good enough. Other fans feel the same, but convey this is a differnt way. That's down to the individual, and not a "Motherwell" thing.

The figures also show we are £1 million better off than we thought we should still be if we budgeted for finishing 11th. Still cannae afford to sign anyone though.
-
The pitch is a total joke. Remember Boyle telling us in the summer we could look forward to the best playing surface in the SPL?!?
-
Bizarre starting formation to say the least. Will reserve judegment till it's maybe been explained. Although the media never seem to ask McGhee or Boyle any hard ball questions. Where was Sutton? That a side. That was a poor poor performance in my opinion. Of course we more than deserved to take the game to a replay, and at half time I would have settled for that, but I thought we were very poor. The pitch is absolutely atrocious. The home support today was absysmal and subdued for a cup game.
-
When did Jim Hamilton haunt us in a St Mirren jersey? Put the boot in perhaps....
-
I can't remember the last time I saw us beat St Mirren comfortably, maybe because we haven't since they recently came back up. Even when they were in the SPL back in 2000/2001, as much as we won 4 times against them that year, none of them were gubbings. As such, every time we play them I'm pretty nervous.
-
That's a fucking joke but nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to the advantages afforded to the top two.
-
That thread is comedy gold. What a truly sad deluded bunch. An 18,000 travelling support!?!?! Brilliant. "the largest away support ever seen at Fir Park". Even better. Has that been proven? I have long detested St Mirren for the simple reason I've encountered several near skirmishes outside and going to and from Love Street over the years for absolutely no reason whatsoever and it would give me no end of pleasure to knock them out the cup and see them go back from whence they came at the end of the season also. Anyway, didn't they get their revenge a few years ago when they gubbed us 3-0? They were still in the 1st Division, and by our standards, had a no too bad season that year. The way my older Motherwell supporting relatives tell that cup tie from '77 is "it was men agaisnt boys".
-
Aye, once again very poor. I can't find a contact e-mail address to complain to either or I would! Plus, 2.5 minnutes of footage for our game, with 2 goals and other incidents, yet 5 minutes for Celtic v Inverness which finished 0-0!!! It's good that the highlights are available all week to view, but time and time again the 'Well games are edited very poorly. The omission of the bad tackles against Falkirk the week before being a prime example.
-
Got to be the same team as Easter Road surely? Quite nervous about this game, would be awful to get put out by this mob at home. Put your money on Jim Hamilton being an absolute Roger Hunt.
-
Sandy Clark is a cock.
-
Sorry if a Celtic youngster signing on loan hasn't sent me into raptures. Wrong site? Whatever. It's not for me to suggest who Mark McGhee should be bringing in on loan, he had already identified 50 players had he not?
-
Is this really the best we can do? God help us. Poor poor show.
-
Exactly. I'm not having a go at McGhee one bit. I've actually went through a range of opinions of him during his time at Fir Park, but our squad is soooo thin, we only have to look back to Christmas to see how badly our form can be affected with only 2 keys players out. We now have no Porter. What do we do if Clarky and or Klimpl etc were to be sidelined even for a few games? We surely had even less money in the seasons immediately afte administration yet Butcher was able to bring in the likes of McDonald, Alan McCormack, Paterson etc. From the looks of it, McGhees contacts don't seem to be cutting it at all and again we go into the 2nd half of the season with our fingers crossed everyone will stay fit and suspension free. That bad run before Christmas when we took 1 point from 21 and scored one goal in 7 has, at the very best, now made life extremely difficult with regards to achieving a tope 6 finish. Even an average return of points from that run would have seen us currently sitting pretty. McGhee has said as much himself that we just don't have the depth in the squad to sustain key injuries. Another bad run like that and we'll be back in the shite.
