    Accies On Saturday

I've said it before and I'll say it again, we were in a much better position under Malpas at this time of the season than we are now. Much better. And the football wasn't any worse and were able to score a goal. We are fucking dire.

    Accies On Saturday

I'll reserve final judgment until the final whistle but this is going exactly how I feared it would. Just simply not good enough.

    Accies On Saturday

Not going tomorrow and not watching it either. Nothing to do with Christmas or the fact that it's so dear to get in. The weather and the kick off time is a factor but the main reason is after following Motherwell through thin and thinner over the years, this seasons form is amongst the worst I can ever remember and I'll be fucked if I'm getting up at 9am to drive through the pishing rain to sit in the freezing cold to watch the same long ball shite that has been played for weeks and clearly isn't working by a squad of players not capable of even the fundamental basics with no competition coming from the bench due to our "can do no wrong" in the medias eyes manager being clearly incapable of identifying and signing what players are required in 2 separate transfer windows. Really hope we win though!

    Attendance

The pricing initiative that was announced recently was confusing for the fans and embarrassing to hear our board purring over "the poor exploited old firm fans". No-one knew what the hell was going on, but when the dust settled, and they changed some of the finer details, it transpired that a guy turning up at the East Stand, for what could literally be his first game in years, could get someone in for free, as could a juvenile season ticket holder, but NOT an adult season ticket holder!!! When I phoned to query this I was told it was only paying customers who could benefit from this (obviously assuming that my season ticket was purchased with thin air in the summer!) and there would be benefits for season ticket holders later on in the season. Now they have unveiled the benefits for the season ticket holders, you have to decide in advance which game you want to go to and go down to Fir Park in advance to collect the tickets. An infinitly more incovenient "benefit" for season ticket holders than the one offered to "johnny one game a year". To come out and now make attempts to deny thsi pricing structure was only an "experiment" is just embarrassing and I wonder who they think they are fooling with this pish? We've seen it all before though. John Boyle flicking the "v's" at the Well fans after the St Mirren debacle two years ago, then only to subsequently come out and deny it, shows exactly what he thinks of us. I've been a season ticket holder for 12 years, and been attending since 1984. Obviously as a wee boy though, stuff like this was of no interest to me and I was unaware of it. There's not a hope in hell of me renewing my season ticket next season. Enough is enough is enough.

    Accies On Saturday

I don't really care what the starting line up is, no-one has kicked their own arse all season and nothing is going to change overnight regardless of how we line up. The starting 11 are shite and the subs are even worse. We should've fired up for the Killie game after a two week lay off and facing a run of "do or die" games. Instead it was the same old hit and hope pish we were served up. This horrible scenario was on the cards back in the summer and nothing, seemingly, was done about it. We are now reaping the rewards for McGhee having hee haw contacts and little, if any, imagination in the transfer market. We need at least 5 new decent players in January lest we're fucked. And even then I have no faith in McGhee to bring in the right players. The only decent player he brought to the club was Lappin and he was allowed to go, yet Malcolm and O'Brien are brought in!
  7. Before last night I had said we need a bare minimum of 8 points from the next 4 games. I honestly thought we would've got a draw at worst last night. However, my worst fears were confirmed.... We now need a bare minimum of 6 points from the next 3 games. Ideally 7 or 9. But anything less than 6 and we are well and truly fucked. Can anyone, based on what they've seen in recent weeks, see us getting anything? Even scoring a goal? Even under Malpas we weren't this bad. We are in freefall and the writing has been on the wall for MONTHS!!!

    Mark McGhee

Getting beat is one thing, but we have had no semblance of any convincing game plan and been devoid of the fundamental basics in 95% of every game this season. This is not a knee jerk reaction to a defeat, the feeling that something wasn't right has been steadily growing in many fans minds all season and the last few games have only served to add strength to the arguement that the unthinkable is a very real possibility.
  9. Even if we win on Saturday, it's still a worse position. In fact, even if we beat Accies and beat ICT, it's still a worse position!!! When Malpas was in charge we won 2-0 at East End Park on Boxing Day to go 10 points clear of bottom club Dumfermline. The best we can hope for is 9 points clear, which obviously I'd bite yer hand off to be 9 points clear of Accies come 5pm one December 27th, but what's the odds we're 3 points adrift at the bottom? Do you think McGhee might get asked some testing questions at that point?

    Mark McGhee

Our league position and form would suggest it is every bit as bad infortunately.
  11. I don't know what's worse, the fact that it was allowed to happen, or the fact that no-one has pulled anyone up at Motherwell for it?

    Maroš Klimpl

I slated him in another post, but on reflection did some things ok, but others really badly. Ok as a squad player but nothing to get excited about. We need a Shaun Teale!!
  13. One of the most insipid performances I've had the misfortune of witnessing in recent years. Our form going into this game was shocking, Killies was worse, so to be turned over 2-0 at home by a shite team missing their best players is extremely worrying. 1 point and 1 goal from our last 6, yes 6 games!!!!! 1 point from a possible 18!!! We are now well and truly in a relegation dogfight people, and one that on tonights, and recent weeks performances, will have Accies, St Mirren etc rubbing their hands with glee. The writing has been on the wall since the word go this season and we are now reaping what our clown of a manager has sown. McGhee can go now as far as I'm concerned. I wouldn't trust him with any more money if Klimpl, who looked like an absolute bombscare, and O'Brien are anything to go by. You could probably add Sutton and Malclom to that, and on this seasons form, Hughes and Porter can go any time they like. Would Brain Kerr and Paul Keegan be any less effective?. Is there anyone in the Motherwell team or backroom staff who actually give a fuck about the medium/long term well being of the club? "Just bubbling under the surface" for tonights game apparently remember? " I won't sign anyone unless they are better than what we have". Remember that nugget of wisdom? Christ help us all if Klimpl and O'Brien are the answer. It's time the press actually started asking McGhee some hard ball questions "Like why have all your signings been shite Mark?" and really digging him up on the fact that our club had just had it's most successful season in 14 years yet started the new campaign with one of the weakest squads in living memory. What disapoints me the most is after a couple of weeks of no football I really believed the players would come out tonight and prove me wrong. Really roll up the sleeves and show that we were in a false position and get a convincing win and kick on on to Saturday. All tonight served to do was confirm what I feared. We are a team in free fall and only others being worse will save us Here's a stat for you, we are in a worse position now than we were under Malpas at this time in his season. It's a hard one to call, but which team seemed the most clueless? Mark McGhee. The first manager to take Motherwell down in 25 years. Watch this space...
  14. Absolutely bricking it about tonight. Anything less than 3 points is a disaster. Need to get some wins, and some decent performances in asap. Haven't seen anything all season apart from the odd game to suggest this is going to happen, so can only hope the players are fired up to go out turn it around.

    Mark McGhee

Last year Porter was tremendous. This season he has been as equally useless as the rest of his team mates. It's difficult to imagine Paul Keegan having any less of an impact thus far. We are forever being told that Hughes is quality also, but what's he done so far this term for the cause? We are sitting 2nd bottom of the league in mid December. McGhee says he's not panicing? Maybe if I was only his enormous salary I wouldn't be either. But I'm not, and I am. Perhaps if our manager was asked some hardball questions for a change the reality of the situation we are in would hit home.
  16. "Bubbling under the surface"??? To my mind we've played well against Rangers, the second half against Dundee Utd and were half decent against Accies in the league. Every other game we've been keech!! If St Mirren win today (and they are at the moment), we're second bottom. Is that "bubbling under the surface"? The league disnae lie at this time of the season. Anything less than 8 points (ideally we want 10) from the next 4 games and we're in a relegation battle, no two ways about it.
  17. All good shouts. Any one of them, or a few, would do nicely.
  18. Lappin, Alan McCormack, and Jim Paterson will do for starters!
  19. The game has been moved to the Monday night.
  20. I've actually really missed this website and had it been up and running when those games were on my keyboard would've been on fire with the ranting I'd have done!!! Quite simply anything less than maximum points from the Killie, Accies, and ICT games and we're in for as bad a season as under Malpas. We don't have the players for a battle at the wrong end, in fact I'm not sure what the current set of players are useful for. It's certainly not scoring goals and passing to their team mates.
  21. That fills me with indifference.
  22. No chance of third place, but glad Clarky feels it's a possibility. They way we're playing just now, it's going to be nothing other than a relegation battle this season. However, 9 points out of the next 12 should see us at least pushing for the top 6.
