Our poor decision making cost us. The Carson decision was so marginal it would've been impossible to call for the ref but Kipre should've still launched it into the stand and we would've still had 11 men and nothing to talk about. McHugh was already on a (needless) yellow and he should've known to keep the heid. Our captain surely has to be a bit more savvy?

Tv footage was inconclusive with Carson but I think he might just be outside. Either way, totally avoidable and poor stuff. I still maintain McHugh's tackle was an extremely hard but fair tackle but if you can't tackle like that then that'll be that. Murray Davidson has a cheek to moan about it. Dunnes? Again footage was inconclusive but it didn't look like he touched him. Griffiths was extremely poor at their 3rd to put it mildly. I'd like to think it was just a perfect storm of terrible decisions by both us and the ref today but I'm slightly twitchy regarding the injuries, penalties and red cards we have incurred, regardless of circumstances, even at this stage.

If tv pictures show that Carson was outside the box and/or Dunne needlessly wiped a guy out then it's a waste of time and money appealing. For me, McHugh's first yellow was completely avoidable and it was a tackle he didn't even need to make. Hardly a stellar start to the season from our captain.

Long before the ref lost the plot the defending was still criminal and that's what cost us. Need to see the Carson red to see if he was outside the box but completely avoidable. McHughs wasn't even a foul! Dunne was stupid and far to reckless with his challenge. Real pressure on us even at this stage to stop the rot next week now.

St Johnstone have been up the park twice but we still look very flat.

I would've hoped for Campbell or McLean instead of Rose but it's good we do at least have options on the bench.

He's not McManus. That's another massive bonus. Like a lot of the new signings, I'm impressed with big Cedric so far. Early days though and I'm not one to get carried away!

Shows the importance of having some decent options and good squad depth if it comes to it. Would be great to even get a point to get ourselves up and running in the league.

The mighty Gavin Gunning was sent off for Port Vale v Leeds last night. I see Marvin Johnson scored for Oxford on Tuesday. He's listed as playing at left back quite a lot.

Quite surprised at the St Johnstone v Patrick Thistle result. Are St Johnstone not as good as previous seasons? Weakened team? Or are Thistle much much better than we first thought?

No tears will be shed over this. He looked awful in the brief snippets we seen of him. One of those rare players you see play and think "I'm better than him"

Just seen the highlights. If rangers penalty is a penalty then the baw is burst! Our shouts were much more worthy. Fisher and Bowmans chances were desperately unlucky. Bizarrely Moult and McHugh were really poor. I thought everyone else was decent to excellent, at least in spells. Plenty to be positive about but as others have said, crossing, passing, decision making and finishing needs to be better.
