Indeed. We've been absolutely howling all season. We need a reaction on Saturday like never before. If we don't get one then the ball is truly on the slates. -

Absolute horror result for us tonight. That's what happens when you're relying on your nearest rivals to drop points cos we're nailed on to lose every week. -

We need to stop the rot at Killie. Simple as. We then need to keep the score down at Aberdeen and then beat St Johnstone. We need wins and fast. I know it's stating the obvious but if we lose the next 3 or 4 games and Accies, County and ict pick up anything at all we leave ourselves with a mountain to climb as we will almost certainly be bottom by that stage. Our next 4 games are Killie (A), Aberdeen (A), St Johnstone (H) and Rangers (A)!!!! Jesus Christ!! -
It's the right decision and I applaud the board for making it. I still think we're down though as McGhees signings have been appalling and that's all the new guy has to work with. Could well be bottom after the games tomorrow.
-
Surely with everything you mention Jay, we'll see an announcement at somepoint today that McGhee and the club have parted company? If not, we'll surely see protests/banners at every game for the rest of the season. For me, the screaming and shouting and getting upset at our fate is nearing an end. I'm resigned to our fate if things stay as they are. The game is up and if those in charge are not willing to act to save us and if the board fail to remove McGhee then they are just as complicit in our demise as him and his shitey signings.
-
Excellent post. Agree wholeheartedly with this. When McGhee was re-appointed my main concern was not how he left us the first time round, but that he had been a disaster and done nothing since.
-
Goals look even worse on the highlights than they did at the time. Didn't realise Samson was so culpable, although I shouldn't be surprised.
-
I fear we're down even if he does go. We're now in a deathspin whilst our rivals have an upwards trajectory. Accies are shite, but they're still very difficult to beat and have still picked up more points than us in 2017. This time next week we could very well be sitting bottom and it's no more than is deserved and/or predicted. Our squad is littered with inadequate and/or gutless players and that's all the new guy will have to work with. McGhee should've been punted in December to give the new guy the January window to freshen up. The spectacular failure that the January transfer window was for us may prove pivotal.

I don't think there's any point in giving him the Killie game. Even if we were to somehow win it would be merely papering over the cracks of the dross that has preceded it. The longer the board appear to be doing nothing over this, the more their ability to lead comes under question. I seen someone on Twitter tweet flow and the board asking "how long must the fans put up with this tactic roulette". Quite.

If McGhee is still in charge, and worryingly I think he will be, I fully expect to see Clay, Chalmers and the latest belter, Jules in the starting 11. 4-0 Killie. -
There's plenty "doom and gloom" merchants on here in the past 12 hours. No wonder! Or maybe the penny has finally dropped?
-
Of the many things I disagree with on with McGhee the latest would be the number of teams in the relegation fight. If today's capitulation wasn't bad enough, Killie and Thistles wins have pretty much rendered the relegation fight between us, Ross County, Accies and Inverness. Although not mathematically safe I'd say Dundee, Killie and Thistle won't be involved in the dogfight at the bottom.
-
I've started to laugh about our situation as the writing has been on the wall for months. Therefore I voted for Chalmers. Even by his standards that was something else today. Barraclough signed him but McGhee continues to play him which is just as bad. Big shout out to Jules and Frear as well for being 2 of the worst signings we've ever made in quick succession. The double whammy being that we really needed to strengthen in January.
-
I'd agree with that whilst adding that not only have all his signings being at best squad players, the January transfer window has seen us go backwards. Samson is still undroppable, Jules looks howling (and st best certainly no better than Laing or Kennedy) and Frear?!!?! Did he win a competition to become a footballer? We needed our January signings to hit the ground running. We're experiencing the very opposite. Meanwhile our peers who signed Ojamaa, Sammon and McKay and are reaping the benefits already. If McGhee isn't sacked by the end of the weekend then it casts serious doubts over the ability of our board to lead also.
-
Take a bow Joe Chalmers. Four random pot shots into the Cooper Stand would probably identify a better player. Possibly the worst player I've ever seen play for us.
-
It certainly is a crisis. We've slept walked our way to this position.
-
Worst 45 I've ever seen. Had to describe what a collapse it's been.

Indeed. Must be compatible to stalking a complete stranger on the internet everytime they post an opinion.....

I've got a bad feeling about tomorrow.

That would be my team aswell. Although I'd be tempted to start the new goalie..... -

I'm not a fan of McManus, never have been, but it remains to be seen if we struggle without him. -

Ha ha! I didn't miss it, I just don't remember offering bets out due to a difference of opinion. -
Would it be too much to ask to have both?

We have the worst home record in the league this season as well as the worst goal difference and have lost more games than anyone else. The stats really do back up its as bad as it feels!
