  1. Samson flapping? Surely not. Moult is wasted on the right. Madness.
  2. Had this down for a stick on defeat but Hearts recent "not terrible but not exactly tearing it up like many predicted" form and the general unpredictability of the league now has me wondering. We'll have to be better than on Saturday though as we were laughably bad for about 70 minutes or whenever Faddy and Ainsworth came on and/or the formation/tactics were changed. Still bracing myself for defeat though as we're still seeing the same unaddressed issues/problems within the team.
  3. Heading along to this one. Really should be looking to take a point, but it's Motherwell, so who knows?!?!
  4. A fantastic 3 points and a much needed win. The first 30 minutes were sensational and a joy to watch. Was it just me or did we then make it unnecessarily stressful for ourselves at 3-0 and 4-1? If Accies had made it 3-2 or 4-3 as I was certain they would then I'm not convinced we would've held on for the win. Several players (Lasley, Clay and Bowman) seemed to noticeably tire and were crying out for more changes than just Ainsworth who was pretty ineffective when he came on. He should've got a shout for his wayward header that lead to Accies first but I thought Tait had a nightmare and it's not the first time this season I've thought that about him. Real concerns about him. Samson continues to give me the fear. Spilled yet another shot and generally didn't command his area at all. Anything at Firhill next week and we're sitting as well as we could hope to be all things considered. Sitting relatively content despite a few concerns. P.s Imrie should be hammered for his deliberate blasting of the ball into the crowd like that. I remember John Brown did that Old Rangers years ago and he knew exactly what he was doing. Unacceptable and the mark of a true scumbag.
  5. Starting to get the fear about this game mainly as we really have to win it and I hate games like that! We've currently registered 1 win from games v Killie, St Johnstone, Dundee and Ross County. If we are still on 1 win after adding Accies to that list then it will near impossible to put any sort of positive slant on our start to the season.
  6. Ordered mine there. Looking forward to it.
  7. Yep. That was another simple save which he managed to spill. How many is he going to get away with?!
  8. Really need to win this one but in order to do so will probably need to score 2 goals. With Moult back that may be achievable. Defeat would be a bit of a disaster and would then require is absolutely winning at Firhill next week as a solitary point from games v Ross County, Accies and Thistle would have me in full blown panic mode!
  9. I would agree with all of this. Samson is thoroughly unconvincing and has already caught us points with a school boy error v St Johnstone. On Tait, I was hoping we had signed a step up from Josh Law but I've yet to be convinced this is the case. He looks slow, easy beat and is caught out of position often. That said he can pick a pass going forward. Same as Law then really....
  10. Nathan Thomas scored a hat trick yesterday!
  11. Could level the point you make in the last paragraph at the team for several seasons now. Failure to put pressure on the ball and/or cut out crosses before the opposition has a chance to pick their pass has been costing us goals for several seasons. In my opinion of course.
  12. A point away from home isn't to be sniffed at I suppose. League is very tight and every point is a prisoner. Need to win next week though.

    Loan Signings

Anier and Ainsworth were initially loans were they not?
  14. I agree 4 isn't really enough, especially considering the next 3 games are Hearts, Celtic and Aberdeen, but it's rarely easy and/or straightforward! Really bad news about McHugh also. Very worrying.

    Loan Signings

Ha ha! Not at all. Keith McRae was before my time but I remember John Gardiner making a mistake that put us out the cup in a cup replay v Hearts? I was on the terracing in front of the main stand when they still sold tickets for there.

    Loan Signings

I think Sieb and Maxwell would also be contenders. The centre half O'Brien we had in the McCall/Barraclough season was absolutely murder!

    Loan Signings

Jutkiewicz was a phenomenal loan signing and not just for that goal. Ruddy was excellent, possibly 2nd only to a Randolph in the "best ever Motherwell goalie" chart. John Spencer in his loan spell was possibly one of the best players I've ever seen in a Motherwell shirt. Michael McGlinchy in Craig Browns reign wasn't great however!
  18. Ross County, Accies and Partick Thistle are the next 3 games. By hook or by crook we need to emerge from those with a minimum of 4 points. And I still think that's setting the bar pretty low.
  19. We mustn't put all our eggs in a Louie Moult shaped basket. Yes he will improve our team but the players we have at our disposal just now should still be able to create and score goals. The system/tactics we are deploying need adjusted.
  20. Disappointing after apparently having so many chances but as the game ebbed away I'm sure I wasn't the only one who feared the worst! At least we didn't lose I suppose.
  21. The attendances are very worrying. They dropped off a cliff during the McCall/Barraclough season and have never recovered. Guys that sat round about me for over 15 years vanished and haven't been seen since. Even the wee guys at the end with the drums numbers are noticeably down.
  22. I thought Hateley was a good player and so far we haven't been able to replace him. Hopefully Tait will come onto a game. His main crime seems to have been he was possibly not the best of the bunch playing in an excellent team, but I don't remember him letting us down much. Hateley also gave us those last minute free kicks v Odense and St Mirren which were 2 truly golden moments!
