A massive 3 points and great to see a win. A bit disappointed at the way we started the second half and when Dundee got a goal back I feared the worst. Pleased to see Clarkson get some game time and his driven cross for the 3rd was a belter. Some run from Pearo to get on the end of it. I'm not a fan of him in general but I thought McManus was excellent yesterday. Moult is on some run of form also. Like others have mentioned, if we're going to play Ainsworth then it's the right wing only. Hope we can take the positive form into the games over Christmas and New Year.

This is absolutely MUST NOT LOSE! If results go out way this weekend we can drag 3 teams and Dundee into the fight at the bottom and also give ourselves a great chance of climbing the league a bit. A defeat here and anything other than a draw between Utd and Thistle and our position will be extremely perilous. Everytime we have played Dundee in the past few games we happen to catch them at a time where they just can't buy a win, this occasion being no different, and yet we haven't even made them work for it. Our performances in the games v them last year were crimes against football and the performance up there earlier this season was utter insipid garbage. We absolutely cannot fuck this up this time.

A draw would be the best result for us.
-
I did suspect we would end the day on the same points as we started it!
-
I'm sure someone will be along in a minute to argue otherwise but for me this absolutely MUST NOT LOSE. Our best hope of avoiding relegation and/or play offs is to be in a fight with 4/5 other teams. Lose on Saturday and we start to look a bit ditached.

An excellent point. Pity we didn't hang on for the win but would've taken a draw before hand. Particks current form is concerning.....

Lasley is in the Scotsman today urging fans to sign up. I fear there is major financial trouble ahead. Whilst I remain unconvinced the Well Society will work (I am a member though) the number of fans signed up is staggeringly low.

I would agree with that.

I see Watt scored for the under 20's tonight. A goal scoring full back? I'm sure we could use one of those?! I think serious questions need to be asked as to why he hasn't featured at all this season. It's seems ridiculous. We should never ever have to be subjected, not even in an injury situation, to Marvin Johnson at left back!!
-
Interesting. Not exactly leaving us in a good position on several fronts. Getting out before the ship hits the rocks?
-
Absolute appalling mismanagement! We need a total clear out on AND off the pitch!!
-
If, and it is just an if, then that's very worrying.
-
Pumped. That is all.

I agree with that but we can't finish any lower than 10th as 11th and the play offs will just delay the inevitable, and prolong the agony! A straight fight with Utd to avoid 12th place will be a bit like the end of Spartacus where you win the fight to the death.....and are then crucified!!

We're now in a worse league position than when McGhee took over. Coincidence? The goals against column is now getting worse conceding 3 goals in 2 consecutive games after innitially keeping it tight. Something we hadn't previously done this season. There certainly hasn't been any "new manager bounce"! We simply can't underestimate how much trouble we are in and how bleak the future looks. We have a manager of nothing of note since 2007/2008, a squad of players who are either past it, not interested or miles out their depth and a board that saw fit to releases funds in the summer to sign a 6th striker and a 3rd goalkeeper!!

I don't think we'll see wholesale changes in January. We should punt Robinson and Taylor for sure and I wouldn't be surprised to see Ripley and Grimshaw move also, I'm not massively impressed with either anyway. We're stuck with everyone else as they're under contract. I'd also suggest that. McGhee has been here long enough that we might see something. Anything! We're not. What concerns me is that apart from his magnificent first season with us he has done absolutely nothing of note in management since. He has been tasked with making a silk purse out a sows ear admittedly but surely we could at least be set up to be hard to beat?!?! We will get nothing from Hearts next week but after that there are some absolute 6 pointers coming up. Thistle and Utd in particular. We absolutely cannot lose either of those games.
-
At what point do people think McGhees influence will start to kick in?
-
Jesus Christ!! With regards to Pearo.... He's either injured, done, has chucked it, or just isn't as good as we had hoped he would be. I think we need to try Clarkson instead of McDonald also.
-
Bottom by Christmas and staying there. I don't rate McGhee but even Alex Ferguson couldn't get this shower of shite motivated and organised.
-
And that's the major problem right there. Was the same last season. We are virtually guaranteed to lose every week while be arly every team round about us can pick up the odd point here and there. Incredible to think we are going through another season where every week the best we can hope for is a narrow defeat and somehow no one round about us picks anything up!
-
Grim times ahead. I don't blame McGhee (for now). The buck stops with Barraclough, the board and the players. Although in fairness to the players most of them are simply not good enough. So we go back to the board and Barraclough.....
-
Be interesting to see how Laing and Kennedy play together at the back.
-
Baws! I thought they were going to be back for this game?!?!
-
Need to take something from this as its Hearts up next and Thistle and Inverness are playing each other and therefore at least one of them will take something!! Home win I'm afraid though.

I've slaughtered him but I also agree with this.
