Didn't expect to take anything from this game when the fixtures were announced and after last nights insipidness I fear it even more. Never been so confident of an away win since Celtic last visited. Hopefully McDonald plays upfront or doesn't play at all. I'd actually be tempted to start Clarkson in his place. Any word on Fletcher? Either way it would be good to see 2 upfront. Taylor or Leitch? Hmmmm..... Not sure throwing Taylor in from the start last night was the wisest move. I can see him starting this game. At the very very least we need a performance from the players (the way Killie did v Celtic after their horror start to the season). Would also be nice to score a goal as 1 goal in 4 games is piss poor whatever way you slice it (and that goal came in the opening minutes of the opening game!). Motherwell 0 Aberdeen 3.

Didn't realise it was as bad at the time but McDonald's challenge for the penalty is easily one of the most stupid and ridiculous decisions I've ever seen a Motherwell player make. What the hell was he thinking?!?! Ripley should definitely have held the second goal. Imagine if Twardzik had let that slip through his hands.....
-
Was thinking along similar lines myself.... Play him upfront or don't play him at all. If we line up on Saturday with McDonald in a similar position then I worry for our season on a number of levels. Barracloughs inability to spot a glaringly obvious failing being one of them.
-
I'm actually glad I went tonight otherwise I would never have believed how bad we were. That performance was plucked straight from the worst of last season. What exactly was the game plan tonight? The passing, movement, desire....everything was missing. Barraclough kept us up but a few more performances like that and the time that bought him is going to run out.

Absolutely howling performance so far. Hardly strung 2 passes together. Stupid, stupid clumsy unnecessary tackle from McDonald (who has been rotten) for the penalty. Massive improvement in the second half needed. Get McDonald up front or take him off.

Any word on the severity of Pearo's injury?
-
That would be excellent! I'll confirm tomorrow if thats ok? I'll meet you outside Tynecastle. I'll be wearing a pink carnation.....
-
Big Beardy up front for them looks a player, but Dundee apparently should've been out of sight on Saturday before Hearts equalised. If we had Pearo then I would be more confident but I'm afraid I can only see us losing this one.
-
I know it's not all about me, this ticket scenario is hugely inconvenient I feel. I'll need to wait till Wednesday morning/lunchtime/afternoon to find out whether I can just stoat up to Tynecastle and buy one! I had fully intended going to this game but it's in the balance now.

Ah, fair enough. Was it Law?
-
Both the goals were avoidable. The og whilst unfortunate, Laing didn't need to try and put his laces through the clearance, just focus on cutting it out or blocking it. Law should also put more pressure on the crosser in the first instance. It pisses me off the way attackers are time and time again pretty much allowed to pick their pass. Leitch for the second one should've went out to meet the guy who eventually put the ball in the net. He neither closed him down nor stayed on the line.

Would be happy with that.

McDonald playing far too deep thus isolating Fletcher to the teams detriment is a a re-occurring observation it would appear? McDonald once again being poor is another reoccurring comment. Which is surprising as well as worrying. Naw? Could this be a lack of preseason? Not enjoying the deeper role? (We aren't either!)

True. Just really disappointing to lose our first home game.

Really disappointing to lose our first game at home. I thought Utd were meant to be toothless?.....

Motherwell V The Rangers Spfl Playoff Final 2Nd Leg 31/05/15

How much of a fine do you think we're looking at? Might not be a bad idea to set up one of these "crowd funds" if we do?..... Surely tae fuck we won't get a points deduction? -
Still no official word on Pearo? I still think we can take something from this though. A point wouldn't be a disaster (unless we concede a late equaliser after going a goal up early doors, miss a penalty and a hat full of other chances.....)
-
Fuck sake! I don't believe this!
-
Pearo missing out for a spell after only 1 game would be a bit of a disaster.
-
Lasley was brilliant. There was a tackle that he made at the end and I have no idea how he managed to wrap his leg round the ball!
-
I thought Pearson's challenge was reckless and unnecessary and I really hope he's not injured himself in the process as prior to that I thought he was fantastic.
-
Have been completely dominant. Should be 3 or 4 up. Hope that penalty miss doesn't come back to haunt us.
-
Cheers man.

Really enjoyed last night. Thought everyone played their part and Johnson and Ainsworth in particular were excellent. We played some really good stuff going forward and there is lots to be postivie about and look forward. The first goal in particular was avoidable and we definitely need to improve the final ball and finishing. If was a "real" game I'd have been going off my heid! A small issue aside, if for the games that Ainsworth is suspended Baraclough is going to play Johnson on the right, I'd hope we'd play Dom Thomas on the left. Chalmers was steady enough, in fact he did very little wrong, but he doesn't look like a left midfielder.

Heading up to this. First time going to watch us in Inverness. Is the stadium easy to find? Where do folks recommend parking? On to the game. Would love to even take a point. From what I seen last night I'd really rather not go with Chalmers at left mid. Marv or Dom Thomas on the left would be better.
