Games v Celtic will not dictate where we end up this season but at the end of the day only ONCE in the last NINE games have we managed to avoid defeat!!!
-
It's going to have to be Alex Ferguson if we are to avoid the drop as the new manager will be working with some of the worst players to ever wear claret and amber. And we've Stuart McCall to thank for that.
-
Absolutely! Considering it's largely his fault we're in this position!
-
What's the plan with not starting Ainsworth? Yes I know he often looks uninterested, unfit and unmotivated but that could be levelled at every player we have at the moment. The difference being Ainsworth is capable of pinging one in given half the chance.
-
Starting 11 is a joke as per, Keep it tight early doors eh?
-
Wonder if Steve Lomas is on the shortlist?
-
Hammell will still be out I think unfortunately.
-
Aye, true I suppose. He is at least capable of doing something creative/positive/skillful/etc at times though.
-
An utter skelping on the cards here with McManus and Sutton retaining their starting positions and a defender brought on to play right mid when we're chasing the game.
-
We need to do everything we can to keep Ojamaa and if that means punting O'Brien then so be it. O'Brien isn't significantly better than Cummins anyway. We've also yet to see what Erwin, Ojamaa and Ainsworth can do on the same team and played in the right positions and barring the new manager coming in I fear we never will.
-
You'd like to think that the option of keeping him till the end of the season has been raised with Legia. Or is that too much to ask from Motherwell at the moment?
-
Being only 2 points above them, we're already at their level. St Mirren have been without Thompson all season as well, but now he's back, and we're about to lose our only outfield player worth a damn.
-
I would shed no tears at O'Brien going back.
-
What are the chances of Ojamaa extending his loan deal till the end of the season?
-
100% Juan Kerse. Yes the home support was pathetic yesterday, but why was it pathetic? For 17 games previous we have been pretty much guaranteed a sub standard, unfit, unmotivated, generally untalented team make the same constant mistakes week in week out resulting in a nailed on motherwell defeat with not even a hint of a corner in sight, let alone turning it. The warning signs were there after the first couple of games also! We also now have no manager, and haven't had one for a month. Who knows when we'll get one in? There are apparent ownership issues which is apparently holding up the previous point. We also have two former heroes who wanted to play with us deemed not good enough or (bizarrely) surplus to requirements turning it on a rival clubs. We are completely rudderless and many of the fans have no confidence in any aspect of the club being carried out efficiently. By the way, we have Stuart McCall to thank for the Clarky and Faddy sickeners, meanwhile he's now a media darling without a hint of criticism directed at him for the shit he's left us in.
-
Having seen the highlights, Sutton and Angols attempts to defend those crosses and stay with their man are nothing short of pathetic. Completely heartless and lazy. Same goes for Suttons chance at the end; absolutely no desire whatsoever. I've now lost count of the amount of times Surton has lost his man defending set pieces. 18 games into the season, contributing nothing; still starts every week! But Faddy was released as we have plenty of options up front?!?! How many times was our defence cut wide open for Utd to waltz through?!?!

The fans are voting with their feet. We've been bludgeoned into submission with the continual dross that's been served up starting with the Stjarnan debacle and continued unrelenting to today. Each pass game only seems to accelerate the downward decline. 3 wins in 17?!?! 8 defeats out the last 9?!?! The players and management should be fucking ashamed of themselves for the incompetence shown. It's beyond anger now, it's now apathy, and that's far more dangerous. I've become the guy I said I never would be, or the guy I thought I'd be. I'm the guy that's stopped going to the football. Worse still, I don't even miss it, and I don't know when or if I'll be back. Without being over dramatic, something died inside me when Clarkson scored against us that day and I knew then I was done. I'm not saying I'm "Mr Motherwell" or anything like that but when fans who have been going solid home and away for decades become so disillusioned that they pretty suddenly stop going then the club should be very worried. I dare say say I'm not the only one. The last person out should turn out the lights.

Revision? Not making sense? Josh Law was deemed a worthwhile signing, David Clarkson wasn't. That to me doesn't make sense. Guru after the fact? Every Motherwell fan around was excited about the prospect of Clarkson re-signing as we know what he can bring to the team, when he didn't we all thought that he must surely be a shadow of his former self.... What message would signing Clarkson send to Erwin and Moore? Will this be the same Erwin and Moore who are pretty much untested at this level and one of whom is still recovering from a very serious injury and still hasn't kicked a ball this season? Aye, very good.
-
Josh Law or Clarkson? You decide McCall.... Law and Angol starting? Deary me.... We're surely not playing 442 with Vigurs left mid?
-
We absolutely need the new manager in place before the massive 6 pointers v Ross County, St Mirren and Partick Thistle. I'm hesitant to use the word "shambles", but it's veering towards that.
-
Pumped 3-0 or 4-0. Worst Motherwell team I've ever seen.
-
Starting to wish I hadn't thrown away £350 on this. Didn't even get to meet Higdon or Randolph at the sign up night.
-
I too remember those players and as bad as they were, I don't think think played in a team that lost 7 out of 8. (Although to be fair I don't think Gunni Johnsson even played that many games for us!) You're right Tweed, but what do you think the plan is? This isn't just a bad run but the fans as always are being treated like mushrooms; fed shit and kept in the dark! You'd like to think double, even triple, training sessions were the order of the day and a diiferent approach to tactics considered. I see Craig Reid has been topping up on his tattoos so that, for me, certainly suggests a good few days off recently rather than more time on the training ground!! Failure to take anything less than 6 or 7 points in the upcoming games v Ross County, St Mirren and Partick Thistle doesn't even bear thinking about but since the whole team has barely put a shift in between them this season I fail to see where the sudden turn around in fortunes is going to come from.
-
Just watched the highlights. The defending from us is absolutely appalling. Without being over dramatic....worst back four in living memory? Quite possibly.
-
I wouldn't really say it was hindsight as such regarding McFadden and Clarkson as McCall would know first hand what they can bring to the team. I may have a bit of a an irrational blind spot when it comes to both players but I firmly believe if both players were wearing claret and Amber this season (as they both wanted to) then we wouldn't be in this mess.
