Really need to take a point from this, and a win on Saturday also. Any news on Faddy and Carswell? I'd play Leitch as a straight replacement for Carswell if he's out rather than shunt Vigurs about. Should've really done that on Saturday there aswell.... I don't want to see Kerr anywhere near right mid!! If Ainsworth isn't contributing then I'd put Moore there.

I'm not sure the point in bringing on an inexperienced Leitch and constantly moving Vigurs about either. Probably cost us 2nd spot and possibly even 3rd with the dropped points today.

I would offer Vigurs an extension right now as insurance as I think he will go on to be a big player for us and he'll probably be another one we lose for nothing.

I think we'll struggle to keep Ainsworth to be honest. 9 goals so far from a wide position is a phenomenal return and I think he'll have a choice of a few clubs. If we can keep everyone (bar hutchy who's definitely off) and sign a new goalie I'll be delighted.

Vigurs is class. Brilliant touches and vision in abundance. I wish the highlights showed him keeping the ball in the corner at the end.

Totally agree re McCall. Was speaking to McManus at Lasleys dinner last night and McCall was a major, if not defining, factor in McManus signing for Motherwell I was told. As an aside McManus had nothing but the highest praise for McCall and Motherwell in general. Ainsworth said the same.

Aye, it makes painful reading and is really starting to hit home even more how much our chance may have gone during these years of sustained league success when you see the dross that has picked up cups in recent years. I fear we will never win a cup ever again!!

Hopefully they'll be dejected and knackered for Wednesday. That's the only silver lining from today's final!
