  1. A very tough fixture but one we've been doing ok in over the last few years (unlike our home record against them). Sadly United have now won a couple of games after largely being murder for about 6 or 7 prior to that. I think Ramsden and Kerr will still be missing so it will probably be Hammell at right back and Franci-Angol at left back which isn't the best but here we are. Ainsworth is going to have to work better at tracking back to offer more protection. Reports of Lasley being missing is a major concern, but he was up on someones shoulders singing SIWY at his race night so his knee cannae be that sore surely?!?!? Lawson will probably come in for him if he misses out? I would actually try Vigurs in the middle, but at the moment we then have no-one who can play on the left. I'd start Anier aswell. Not losing this game would be a tremendous result.

    Hated Players

I thought Higginbotham was a a disgrace on Saturday. I can't believe he didn't get booked. I didn't go mental at him at the time as there's no point, anyhoo, we has the last laugh, but he showed himself up to be pretty classless. I didn't agree with the booing he got earlier in the season to be honest, and I said as much on here at the time. Same goes for treatment Reynolds got. Higginbotham put in a shocking elbow on Lasley at Fir Hill earlier in the season and had a bad one again on Saturday. For whatever reason he appears to hold a bit of a grudge against us. I imagine Law, if he's still at Sevco, will get absolute dogs abuse when he returns.
  3. Could pick holes in that performance till the cows come home, but for sheer excitement that was worth every penny.
  4. Baws man!! Who's going to play centre half with Hutchy if Kerr and McManus are out? Can we recall Cummins back from his loan at Dundee? Wonder who is the other doubts are? Probably be for the best if the pitch doesn't make it now....
  5. Loved big Higdon. What a player he was for us. Would love to see him come back to us in a couple of years. Really wish he'd scored that penalty v Aberdeen in the cup that time though....
  6. Really hope it isn't because a) my whole weekend is based round coming to this game and b) we'll have some backlog of midweek fixtures to get through.
  7. Half expecting to win this to be honest and that doesn't sit comfortably with me! For me Anier needs to start with either Faddy OR Sutton. Faddy and Sutton together in my opinion doesn't offer enough pace and/or anyone running the channels. Looking forward to getting back to Fir Park. Feels like its ages since we've had a game.
  8. Both the 2005 and 2011 Cup finals were awful (if they count? Not sure if they do) League cup semi defeat with Corrigans pass back was a sickener. It was only in the days afterwards it dawned on me how robbed we were. The Dumfermline game in the Malpas season where we lost 4-1. I honestly thought we were down that night. Dumbarton away in the cup in 97/98 where we scraped a draw. Every trip to Tynecastle up to about 2004. Every trip to Ibrox I ever made (bar the 2-2 draw in 1997 as that was the only game I ever seen us return undefeated) Every trip I ever made to Parkhead (bar the Kevin Twaddle 1-0 win game) St Mirren in the cup maybe 06/07 where we were gubbed 3-0. St Mirren away second game of the season in the Malpas season. Realised early doors that season we were in trouble. St Mirren Cup replay in McGhees 2nd season. I wasn't at the Sevco or Albion Rovers debacles but I sure as hell felt those games! Still haunt me. The game v St Johnstone earlier in the season where we lost 2-0 was horrendous. Soaked to the skin before I even got in, not one shot on target the whole game, poor crowd, no atmosphere and just a total "meh" day. the fact that it was on telly and I still decided to go didn't help. A horrible all round football experience.
  9. Never been a fan of being drunk/drinking at games, even in the days when I went out every weekend. I know this puts me in the minority, but there you go. That said, I've obviously been pretty drunk at a couple of games by default. The 2003 Scottish Cup Semi v Rangers probably being the worst. Sobered up instantly when they scored after 2 minutes though. Most hungover at a game anyone?
  10. I love the Championship in England. Plenty big name teams with big stadiums and generally big crowds. It has to be said the football being played, in general, is awful! The Motherwell team of the last few years could finish top half of that league easy.
  11. More people need to sign up for the Well Society or we might as well deem it a failure right now. I fear that's the way it's going as it hasn't appealed to enough people. If you haven't signed up by now then I dare say you never will. The payment plans are affordable and spread out it's no more than you would spent on a night out or a pair of trainers in any one go.
  12. Friday night football will only work if they don't put it on the telly and/ reduce the prices. It would also possibly help if it was a game where the 2 teams weren't situated miles apart.
  13. I wouldn't say that was a comparable argument to be honest. I don't know anyone who has a preferred English team who invests any money or real time in them (ie isn't really a true supporter in the sense, just prefers them to certain other teams for whatever reason) and certainly none that are chosen with a geographical proximity to Scotland as a defining factor. If you want to have a dig at Scottish Man Utd fans then I'm with you on that, but that's probably for another thread!!
  14. I know about a dozen wannabe Aberdeen fans from the Lanarkshire area, who if they ever even remotely consider going to a game then it's when Aberdeen are at Fir Park! What a boot in the baws to the area that they were born, raised, educated and lived their whole life in! If you're going to support a team who are located at the other end of the country (for no other reason other than they gave you bragging rights at primary school) then at least have the strength of conviction to make the long journey to their home games. The glorious irony of course being if they had chose their local team then they actually would've enjoyed more sustained "success" in their lifetime!
  15. The more I watch it, the more Anderson's challenge looks high and dangerous. Should've been a foul and/or handball! Take your pick ref!! Got to love the Aberdeen banner saying "support your local team". I've yet to meet an Aberdeen fan who actually comes from Aberdeen! I dare say the irony is lost on them.
  16. Aberdeen look good it has to be said, but it's their first decent season in 15 to 20 years and they're still only a point ahead of us! Plenty of fitba still to be played and I'm just happy to be involved in the mix at the right end of the table again (which given the players we lost in the summer is even more remarkable) If Aberdeen keep this up though McInnes (who is a fucking walloper by the way) will be off down South again and their deluded fans who have come out the woodwork cos they've strung a couple of results together will disappear again. As an aside, for me, Anier has to start with either Faddy or Sutton.
  17. No chance we'll bringing in another keeper in this window! I'm still surprised we were able to extend Ainsworths loan and sign Anier permanently! The ironic cheers aren't nice and certainly won't help. What about that slap/ punch though?!?! I've seen amateur goalies deal with stuff better than that! His keeping for the first goal was criminal and probably cost us the win. We look good for a top 6 finish, but the keeper could cost us a euro spot.
  18. Blatant handball for their 2nd.
  19. Lawson caught on the ball dilly dallying and then what the fuck was the keeper thinking for the first goal?!?! Horrific goalkeeping.
  20. 4 last minute goals conceded to Aberdeen in the past 2 seasons.
  21. Absolutely gutted. Did the keeper sell the jerseys with the equaliser?
  22. I take it Vigurs is injured? That's a bit of a blow. I don't think I'm alone in thinking Anier should be starting with either Faddy or Sutton.
  23. I'm sure Reynolds wanted to leave when he did to ensure Motherwell got a fee for him. Apart from that I agree with everything Reynolds related that Ya Beezer posted above.
  24. I liked Reynolds, and I fucking hate Aberdeen, therefore it pains me to see him play for them.
