  1. Hpw long do you think Robinson will last?
  2. And that's the first post confirming that there is no way that Hammell should even consider taking the job, Inexperence Flag will be dragged round his neck like an anchor after every defeat.
  3. Toothless is how I'd describe our attack today
  4. funny how most people want to pick roughly the same team as Alexander picked

    Alexander.

Firstly its strange that a management team on Defenders could not train a team to defend. O'Donnell was a big upgrade on Grimshaw when he arrived, but was at fault for far too many bad goals and deserved to be dropped. Mugabi IMO was one of our best players last year and even at right back was effective initially, however latterly was found wanting and his weakness exposed. But i would say that his confidence must have take a battering after that first leg against Sligo and the abuse he got for it. I feel the recruitment and player judgement has let Alexander down badly, That includes the numerous January jersey fillers that amounted to the square sum of nothing in the defensive area Ojala looked good when signed but now is slower than a week in jail, Solholm may be a good lad but is a championship defender at beat, Giving Carroll and McGinlay extensions was madness. The associated wingers forwards that have come and gone are not the quality required and have left i include Woolery in this you need more than just pace. We have not one player that can carry the ball commit a player or beat a player. Infact last year we had a team that couldn't even string a couple of passes together. Not in the camp that loosing Watt was disastrous, Watt is a journeyman generally lazy and does not stay at a club for long look at his record, i feel that we saw him having a purple patch it was best of him. Has he scored against anyone else bar us playing for Dundee Utd he was particularly good at falling over and winning free kicks in dangerous areas and we benefited from that, not replacing him with another CF was a mistake. The SPFL quality is terrible is that to do with the pressure on the players and teams to stay in the league i'm not sure , but i do think that managers that are unfamiliar with the Scottish game misjudge the type of player required. Hopefully a new manager will unearth a few gems and be able to train the team in a way that provides attractive football aka mcghee V1. There was something wrong when we played lower league opposition and they passed us off the park. I was hoping that Alexander could have turned it around but as I've said before not preparing properly for a big money tie in Europe is reason for letting him go. Austria! waist of money, should have been in Ireland or somewhere playing all the teams he could it get some sharpness into them, Onwards and upwards, a quality manager could make some difference in this league, even like what Hammy is saying about promoting youth all good until your at the wrong end of the league with everyone crying because you've no experience.
  6. Can't grasp this we have a good squad, we have a very limited squad from what i see, with some players on long term contracts that should never even been renewed. That's 3 games so far and not even a sniff of a goal in open play. We have an asset in Kelly who was outstanding yesterday but caught out on Thursday so yes a premier league quality player. Jury has to be out on our new signings until they bed in. Morris and VV played together before, Morris appears to be struggling with the physicality of the Scottish game ATM, McGinn, looks short of pace as seen on Thursday, Spittal so far has been anonymous in games . But will give all three time as i said before . Perhaps with a weeks training we will see something different from Hammel but as the saying goes you can only pee with the cock you've got
  7. What a great opportunity we have to get a quality manager in, in our league a good manager alone could get third with average players which we have in this league . We must be positive the board normally pull a left field option that's not quoted initially, Alexander did not work out long term but he did save us from what looked like certain relegation and got us into Europe so i wish him all the best. Hope we look at someone who can promote quick passing football not hoofball
  8. Now firmly of the opinion that we use the European money to pay Alexander and his team off the recruitment this window and previously and preparations for this European campaign have constituted neglect. No idea who is available Ross would have been my choice but he’s at Dundee Utd. Time for the board to act now before the window closes. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Well you had 3 new players playing last week how many do you want before its considered a massive overhaul
  10. Griffiths is finished and should be nowhere near Fir Park, he is a wasted talent just like Derek Riordan

We need to get real we have played one game this season, there was positive signs of passing football from what i saw, we had no penetration up front and need a quality striker. Van Veen should never had played but it shows how short we are that he felt the need to play him. We need to see what happens over the coming months before kicking Alexander out who knows with another couple of signings we may see improvements. May i say that IMO the signings this year look like an upgrade on what we let go/sold i hope that we see another couple of quality additions I'm sure Alexander knows its a results business and if the results are the same as we had the second half of last season then he and the board will know the outcome. Just look at the League Cup results there are many shock results as players and teams settle down, St J,Hibs , Kilmarnock and St Motherwell Reserves
  12. One on the reasons we fell away so badly last season could have been him getting injured at Hearts
  13. If Sol was Scottish and had not picked up the megaphone he would be getting hunted by the pack not suggested that he should be starting with Lambie, Lambie's next mistake will bring on the wrath of the support again. Whoever we have in defence has limitations. Its up to the manager and assistant who were both defenders to get the best out of them. Defence We have a former Finish Captain and sitting in the stand, a current Scottish International sitting on the bench a Scottish International Goalie and full back playing, a Current Ugandan international playing . What do you want for Motherwell FC we obviously have players that have a degree of talent that's been recognised at international level, they just need to recapture the form that got that recognition. For me we need a decent left back Given that we have such talent what's happening with the coaching?
  14. Positives - Morris looks good, McGinn started good fell away. Their reserve keeper had a good game, we were not 2 nil down before they eventually scored Kelly again keep us in the tie early on. Its only half time in the tie and were only 1 - 0 down. We were the better team. Negatives- Carroll is a bomb scare should be punted ASAP, Van Venn was a mile off the pace and should not have played, Shields is not good enough. Mugabi had a nightmare mistake again. Subs had no effect in play at all, All in all we could not break down a pub team who sat in.
  15. Crazy move they don't even pay their players
  16. Have to agree that Alexanders January business has been an absolute shambles.
  17. Monumental turnover of players is part of the modern game for teams at our level, is there really any player from last year you would be sorry to see go. I'm all for bringing in our own youngsters, and Maguire and Cornelius will hopefully benefit from last year but its a hard task bringing through youngsters when we can't even hold onto some of our youngest talent. I think there needs to be more protection to clubs bringing through players
  18. Games Played Van Veen 340 Efford 125 Woolery 263 Shields 140
  19. Our forwards are some of the most experienced players in the squad already only Slattery out of the 4 quoted could be described as inexperienced
  20. Just looking at the stats Blair Spittal has played more first team games in his career than our whole midfield from last year has played. Hopefully will bring something that we lacked experience.
  21. Lets be positive until proved otherwise, the manager is happy with the training camp, he knows the funds available, getting new staff in, players to follow and a European game to kick off another season. We can't affect what other teams do or who they sign, they are so far all unknown quality some will be good some will flop but we can all support Motherwell with a hope the manager has learned from the tail end of last season.
