Likewise I have read most of your posts and find them baffling in the fact hat they dont really make a great deal of sense, but like you said its all about opinions. As for Burley for Scotland.....Thats a different thread on a different board. Needless to say having been to all scotland games over the last six years bar two away games then i feel that Burley was no worse than Smith Mcleish, or Vogts, a view that seemed to be shared by many of my coleagues in the TA. My one criticism of Burley is that he didnt change it midway through the game. But that would please a small minority of our support who hate changes. But comparing Burley to the car crash that was malpas is just silly.

I know theres loads of threads on the go here and if anyone feels the need to merge this thread then feel free. However I was hoping to focus on what i believe to be the best candidate. However much as i would love to see Burley at Fir Park i cant help but wonder if it is realistic. depressed as I am im hoping that someone can convince me that we can get a manager of Burleys standing. Also would Burley bring MCallister with him? Did he not try to get him to come to Scotland with him?

Never met him, only heard him at the forum. Like i said earlier Im just really hacked off at the constant starting over. Either we cant keep a manager or we cant match their ambitions or we sack them. We go through more managers than virtually any other club. Im kinda concerned that maybe this will reflect badly on us as employers. Maybe im just losing my perspective a bit.

He has a very very good tactical sense, he is a great motivator of players, he works particularly well with young players and brings them on, which is important at a club the size of Motherwell, and he has boundless enthusiasm, John Boyle on the appointment of Jim Gannon.

Whoever the fuck it is they better be instantly successful and we better be finishing in the top four this season otherwise he will be hounded out too. i sincerely hope your right, however his history of decision making would suggest that this is not the case. Prior to Boyle Motherwell had had 13 managers in 100 years. Since Boyles stewardship in 1998 we have now went through 8 managers, not counting the caretakers every time a manager leaves or is sacked.
