2 games against the Old Firm stick out - early 70's, both had 30K attendances
Rangers 2-2 (Colin Stein scored late equaliser - lost replay 4-2)
Celtic 3-2 (0-2 comeback Wullie P game)
Like Daver said games at that time against the "evil twins" weren't a pleasant experience.
He didn't take over until part way through the season - around November/December time IIRC and we went on a run ending in that 5-3 Rangers reverse. Sure I've commented on this on a previous thread - need to have a look.
FFS why do you people continually have to remind us that night - 'scarred for life' I was by the cheating bastards and 'bribery ref' JPR Gordon from Newport-on-Tay
Need to check that one, but you could be right - my first reaction was Ian Taylor, but I might be wrong.
You just had to mention "that game" though..................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes we did 2-1 (with a flu ridden squad, we had attempted to have the match postponed because we had insufficient fit players, still enough to stuff the Hibees mind you) - quite a rumpus in the Copeland Road end that night.
