Do you think the more players we lose the less likely we are to get a good manager. I mean inheriting a small squad with money to spend and time until your next game is one thing but inheriting a first team squad of a dozen or so players, having little money to spend and pretty much going straight into competative matches possibly doesn't fill people with hope. Just wondering if anyone else thinks potential new managers will consider this a negative and maybe a bridge too far?
If I was them I think I'd rather play it at my own place and try and get an advantage from it. We didn't like giving the old firm the Cooper and wanting them to give us more tickets is the same idea.
He's been alright in the few reserves games I managed to catch. I'm not saying he'd be an amazing team changing player, just that I think he deserves a shout.
I've said it before but I think with a run in the side, a decent run, Darren Smith could be alright. But considering he's hardly played for the first team I don't know how I feel about flinging him in.
That squad does look thin. But we can't really do anything about it just now unfortunately. Out of all the outgoing players I'm most upset about McLean. Think he could really do a job for us.
I know this is being highly paranoid but with ST holders being able to buy as many as they want what's the chances of selling out before public sale? I can't afford to buy my season ticket until the end of the month. Paranoid I know but...
The Scott Leitch story is in the Sun today too.
McGhee has done well for us and I'm thankful for that but this whole saga is drawing on way too long. In a normal close season I wouldn't be particularly worried but with the Europa Cup draw in a couple of weeks and players being out of contract we really need someone in about two weeks ago!
Livingstone would be a pain in the arse to get to and I don't think we'd have as good a chance getting a good crowd there compared to say Airdrie or Hamilton.
Aye but they'll be certain that playing on that pitch to be a bonus for them. Little do they know we've been practicing for the last 4 months in case a situation like this arose. Good forward planning.
