G.Barnstaple just posted a link to this http://mixlr.com/motherwellfc/

Pretty sure you were at methyl Dave? And when McGhee hailed him as a midfielder? They two games pretty much wiped out any hope I had for Laing making it as anything other than a hoofball defender
-
don't think you can appeal two yellows, only a straight red

Motherwell: Ripley, Hammell, Grimshaw, McManus, Pearson, Johnson, Lasley, Law, Moult, Hall, McDonald Motherwell subs: Samson, Laing, Robinson, Clarkson, McFadden, Cadden, Watt Edit: is that Robinson in for Thomas on the bench?

The clubs priority is to sort out the budget whilst maintaining a squad that can progress to a decent league & cup finish. To that end, the only position we need to look at is left back
-
Bump, to top of page so it doesnt get missed!
-
Some good performances But I am genuinely amazed we finished with a clean sheet Big Ripley played a blinder

interesting , EDIT, I know your not having a go, just figuring if anything changed would have made it better? having watched the clubs updates all day, it wasnt the officials that decided the timeline it was the weather the game was only really in question for about a one hour window from around 1615-1715 so if there had been any earlier inspections, what would it have delivered? 1430 game on 1445 game on 1500 game on 1515 game on 1530 game on 1545 game on 1600 game on 1615 game on - heavy rain - will need re-assessed if rain stays on beyond hour forecast 1630 game on - heavy rain - will need re-assessed if rain stays on beyond hour forecast 1645 game on - heavy rain - will need re-assessed if rain stays on beyond hour forecast 1700 game on - rain stopped - assess pitch and weather forecast 1715 game on - rain, drizzle at worst pitch ok, forecast holding 1730 declare match on EDIT: where it all could go wrong is if the arse end of this weather 'storm' catches us all out

seems to be an outpouring of rememberance on social media today? on the back of someone reviving an old club facebook post from the 27th December 2014. the man passed away on the 29th December 2007, would seem to be the most basic point of respect to note the date

bus fare might work? I'd just cut the advertised price of £23 down to £18-20 max, keep the stand open and contact the other clubs fans to make sure they know Cuddles might work, if thats your thing
-
points out that as a visiting fan its not an enjoyable matchday experience to get forced into a cramped corner of a stand then asks why our club try and make the visting fans more welcome at the same time as not forcing POD regulars to share facilites with them Indeed

the quote says it is in the 70's% , which would imply above 70%, then to add in managment and staff wages.......leads to serious concern So if the traveller is not misquoting, then it would be irresponsible of the owner, board and general management to continue without addressing at the first opportunity. would be folly to have a shopping list in January, should be looking to gumtree

Yayyyy new broadcast partner,, oh wait a minute in fact Doncaster says its good and the fans wanted it, so its damaged and questionable right off
-
Thanks Shaka, I'll be looking out for them over the next four or five weeks. much more interesting than anything in the league, after all these groundhog days
-
What do we know about Cove Rangers then? Watt, Park, Yule and Milne scored their four today in the replay , Nicol scored their goal in the first tie

Only last years rules are published on the SFA site, usually not much chage year on year, and certainly usually get a public airing if there is change: http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/resources/documents/SFAPublications/ScottishFAPublications2013-14/Cup%20competition%20rules.pdf Rule 41 c) extract is 5% of all monies received go to the SFA, hosting club can retain 20% for costs and remainder split equally between clubs, providing it is more than the Guarantee. Quite a few rules in there about deductions for season tickets, complimentary , allocation to visitors etc minimum pricing £8 if I read it correctly....

I've been to most of those meetings Dave, budgeting for top six , isn't the most influential factor on our losses, edit: the club has had many drops in income to deal with which could have damaged us severely without some extreme hard work from the board and staff at the club but bdgeting for cup runs has very nearly put us under, cup money always should be bonus money to increase budget for next season imho we're now 5 years or so into a crazy policy of spending it speculatively and barely getting any appearance money from abject failure
-
yes forecasting is required but year on year the clubs board have failed to adapt to the situation as well as at least 4 or 5 of our direct rivals, to fail one year with the cup is fine, to fail what five years in arow with the same cup expectation budget forecast is borderline criminal. I still find it incredulous that the year we finished third then second we made a loss due to players bonuses being higher than expected.. but at the start of another 5year plan we go forward with a budget to make a loss, staggering. I'm also finished with the, line that our youth is not good enough, when we are paying! to bring in SPFL 2 level players and burning funds on them or 6th strikers and 4th goalkeepers. it might not be much money on each, but its cash...hard cash, the stuff that doesnt grow on trees. Lasley, Hammell, Faddy, Quinn, Clarkson would all have got the same line as not being ready from coaches like Craigan who are toeing the line and protecting themselves, unless the situation is forced by the board and the first team manager or the association everybody keeps going on about how things aren't as good as they used to be, look back at all the footballing greats or even the decent servants and look at the ages, they broke through to first team football. some of the lads getting first team are relative youths, there is absolutely no point in paying our lads wages if the club stick with this plan, Mcghee often pays lip service to giving youth a chance, he's very good at lip service....

I thought the first rule about a Motherwell cup run was that no one talks about a Motherwell cup run
-
he made the trip to Greece as well
-
Ha!
-
McGhee, stated injuries forced him to go with two wingers. few queries from that: He woud have rather have had an extra player in the middle, than one on the wing he didnt see the other midfielders he had available. or he would rather ignore selecting any of our youth, than setup his preferable formation he changed his tune after a beating, instead of admitting he got it wrong

not enough people got to suffer the East Fife game. few players got anywhere near pass marks that evening, for effort, fitness or capability. Clarkson was far from the worst on any measure, and I'm not sure I'd label him absolutely done, but the hour he was given, showed that even against a lower league side, he isn't the weekly answer, much like Laing, Chalmers, Johnson* and Law that night, it was clear as day that they just aren't good enough for the level we are trying to play at. I understand the club is in a position, and the new manager has to review players, systems etc all over again, but give me players who are known to have a level of ability and importantly give 100% like Kennedy, Moult & Lasley (Hammell) and some with youthful potential, drive and togetherness like Leitch,Thomas, Watt and Cadden have shown. we've then got a few poor value players like Mcmanus, McDonald and Pearson, who can definitely return more than their average performance shows, for whatever reason the manager needs to figure out add them to these computerised trump card signings, to fill gaps and get game time to develop and show the drive to take more playing time. sure its simplified and injuries suspensions etc all throw challenges, but I'm tired of watching the same failed selections deliver the same failings, much like the admin' season, I'd much rather see a group fighting and growing than what we've had the last 18months
