end of the month was indicated as deadline to raise funds, proposal has then to go to Trustees or Boyle? for consideration. so I dont expect anything for a few days, unless an amount has been pledged that secures us outright

know nothing other than whats in public domain ? I think its safe to say that the expected losses for this season, are now going to be higher, having exited the cup, than they were a few days ago. how that reflects on the moving target for the society is speculation. can one individual backer underwrite the higher target? how it presents us to an approach from non associated group, I'd say more vunerable, from the limited info'

Warsaw must be hell for him to even consider it, and that depends if the board are reckless enough to sanction more losses in a gamble to survive. but then, that depends on the mystery takeover bid or a freind of the club bailing us out and that depends on the potential losses this season and that......will be a whole lot worse on Monday 1st December than it was a few days earlier

and McCall walking away provided the club with the opportunity to rectify that, or at the very least put in place someone, for the fans to get behind. the board were given a free hand, to revitalise the club and stop the rot, instead they fumbled and we have had the last month of doom and gloom with half arsed situation updates and statements telling all, that we are doing nothing for months until something might happen? meanwhile a squad that have embarassed themselves from pre-season continue through the same motions and Black throws the same dice as McCall would every game. sure some have been handed tough blows with injuries etc but the fact remains half the team were still blowing out their arse towards the end of the game, and we finish it with a tragic looking unbalanced team. the board and every member of staff at Motherwell football club might be bursting a gut to sort it out , but ironically for a club with the best in media teams all we have heard is hang on and wait for change in the future. or in my words a lack of direction shown by the club, with the result only 2500 paying out
-
I do not believe that, in any more than a minor way, impacted on todays crowd we would take that sort of crowd to a local away game in the cup which folk need to pay for as well as travel costs. todays crowd is a reflection of the lack of direction across the whole club.

yip and your post is a great example, holding the business on slow tickover from the outside, losing opportunities weekly because of the potential feelings/reputation about a person thats not even employed by the club, whilst the business is faltering at a terrifying rate? look at it again, continuity? thats fine, as I said, if its a friendly change in ownership and a manager had been appointed, you'll have have your continuity, the new manager would have been in job for a few weeks at the most vunerable time the club has had in a decade. Continuity if its a radical takeover? thats mental putting a business at risk for something that might or might not happen and the least of anyones worries if it does, the appointed manager will have been made aware, and lets look at your emphasis on their credibility? its not exactly Mourhino we're expecting in, look at all the factors and our last half dozen appointments, not many would be leaving desirable jobs to come to us, it would hardly destroy a reputation of anyone in 'our league' were they to work for 6-10? weeks and then something radical happened and they were let go, the 'cost?' not a worry if its a consortium looking at structure change they will have 'budgeted' for the changes even if the club cannot afford it. meantime many weeks trundling along, opportunites lost and more importantly commerical income dissapearing, fundraiser nights cancelled, perhaps the single cup tie cash gate of the season and associtated commercial opportunity squandered. Fans/customers choosing other options at a prime time of year. there are no guarantees a new manager would turnaround the lack of points in the first few weeks or indeed at all, but an appointment during the international break would have been a much needed boost, at a critical time, Deal with the business first and maximise any opportunity, worry about the future when and IF any significant event happens. the club only has a limited number of 'event dates' to bring in income, letting them pass, with the club in its present limp mode , is dissapointing. PS football manager? never played it, what sort of score do you get, when things are not working and you just leave it doing the same thing over and over and over again?

small club mentality instead of a ruthless £5million turnover business talk of morality etc is a nonsense , if a candidate knows the situation and is accepting then there is no ethical question about appointing them. if the society or a friend of the club takes ownership , then situation normal and the appointment will be as with every other, results based. if some corporate raider takes over, the very least of the current stewards worries, will be a manager that could get moved on. EDIT: and just a reminder that effectively, this Saturdays game, is the most significant financially in a long time.

Billy Mckinlay joined up with Davie Moyes at Real Sociedad, must've got bored waiting
-
was it not the case that they said, they know; no detail of any other bid

was going reasonably well with explanations to queries from the floor, until as usual fans start talking over each other about irrelavent business and some of the responses get lost. I think steelboy might have missed a response from Brian Mcafferty on what was the target?, that the target was effectively: an amount that will satisfy John Boyle, that there are sufficient funds to support the club. my understanding is that, £800k was the original amount that would have satisfied that, but with the catastropic start to the season, they need more than that now. as the impact of this terrible season, is imminent demand on the society funds as club security
-
Boyle offloaded his shares years ago, whilst leaving us with a repayable debt burden, so no link to next owners, if its not the trustees or Society. Society members getting cash back? I dont think that is even legally possible, as money would go to a local charity likley the community trust. but even then why woudl the society give up its share in MFC, which they still have some time to buy mor ewith whatever funds are available
-
guess that was aother two weeks holiday for the international break as I had feared not even doing the basics like playing to the whistle, staying on the post, challenging every ball. Caley Thistle should have destroyed us, maybe we would have seen the players that are more than pathetic being dropped, some of them are embarassing

all depends on if our boys are blowing out their arse after half an hour 2 weeks lifting their fitness and tactics sessions or the norm?
-
I'm hoping you have just picked up a form of tourettes and that was just a spontaneous shout of random vulgarities johnny davidson, arthur daley

-

this is still unclear for me, not that it matters as the minimum was too rich for me, but as someone who has preached the society as a positive vehicle to support the club, it seems to have an identity issue over what is society business and who is calling the shots: so this plan is all the societys doing? the club are denying any involvement or status change, referring it all as society work but fans are loaning money to the club? and the clubs assets are the security and one party is paying a return? but for that loan you get society membership benefits as per, amber or 1886 dependant on what line fo the email you read? where is the society rep's position on the club board, when fanciful targets are being used to predict income? why are the clubs board not structuring the budgets on income and current security, instead of running back and loading the problem onto the society with increased targets?

can shares be issued with a time bar on re-sale? or any other control option? or even only offered to bona-fide fans ( how to prove? society? ST's? , the infamous MFC database?) 50 fans £2000 each, £100k 200 fans £1000 each,200k 100 fans £600 each,60k 200 fans £250 each,50k 600 fans £150 each,90k fairly conservative estimates and gives a fair chunk and all in fan ownership......with little expectation of financial returns that would cripple club/society for years 1st priority is to get away from the time bomb budgeting requiring top six and cup runs and player sales Rangers fiasco could have killed off the club, to then procede, season after season, with annual losses due to successful on field performances is criminal. to not take any of the unexpected CASH bonus from success and use it towards future security funds sickens me.
