  1. So five prep games, and we get caught out in competitive fixtures, massive effort to recover from poor advance planning and get an additional fixture arranged for today, then the entire 1st defence and 1st defensive sub are not even listed to get any game time The defence that were too soft in the competitive games I can usually find some reasoning for what goes on, but right now I'm just baffled as to what is happening

  3. On that issue I agree WeeYin, Prep work may? Have been enought to let us reach 3 goals in each match or hold out just a minute or two longer. But for this thread, the pre-season just hasn't been structured enough Even the claim of five games is fanciful, over how many days was that? Around ten my guess,
  4. No, a decent wee trip to Brechin, Clyde or the likes, would not have done the squad any harm, when we have 5 or 6 kids who are lined up to sit on the bench all season are you saying the club are operating in an amateurish manner, ignoring historical results and taking success as granted? you should have been in Reykiavik, on Wednesday no where near 99% of fans or officials thought we were guaranteed to be going through as a last minute arrangement/request, Police Scotland may have had an input, Irrelevant when it should have been organised weeks/months ago very good, are buses not an option anymore? No, we started after our main two rivals and the champions and Utter bollocks about pre-season, when you look around at when clubs all over Scotland started their prep', go look back, plenty commented at the time, how lower league clubs and top six clubs alike were all back, many before ours. not really fussed on a personal level, but since the very essence of the club is to attract and retain support for it to exist as a business, it seems rather daft, that only one match was organised, to showcase this years team at low cost to punters Yip, I'll bet one or two people had to put hell off a lot of effort into getting this sorted, that worries me the most, when we have very little resource, all the hours firefighting instead of boxing clever weeks ago, will no doubt have added stress to a small team, and led to other tasks being sidelined putting income at risk. I watched my team destroy the opposition in both games for around 30 or so minutes recently, I then watched the opposition slowly but assuredly enjoy more and more possession and gain encouragement as our boys retreated, so much that they were well on top in both games beyond the 90 minutes: fitness?, lack of match time? tactics? whatever it was, we lost through lack of preparation. I can accept that, what I dont understand is the need to mask the situation?
  5. Boss man Stijgcky (sp?) is Stjarnen, had volunteers all around him preparing the club for the game, trusted each of them to do their job, whilst he sorted all the extra jobs UEFA throw about, even took time out to call us a taxi to get us back to the city after buying match tickets. was the one guy, I genuinely felt pleased for at fulltime.
  6. Reading the offical blurb spin that we prepared with 5 friendlies this season, got me thinking against who? since it was announced the U20's were playing bounce games with Stenny and Albion Rovers who were these five games against? is someone trying to imply the U20s games are prep' for 1st team squad starting the season and Europe? can anyone name the squads which lined up for these 5 games?
  7. so you believe they would be signed by Wednesday coming
  8. I think you are being a bit of, with this, most of the team that played actually made effort to acknowledge our support at the end of the game. As uncomfortable as it was other than that, what are you wanting a refund? Social media is off limits due to quite a few idiots , who can't control themselves in our support in such circumstances
  9. you'll be one of Gordons many chums then, youth systems very rarely deliver in less than one year, there would be a huge element of luck in that. Ive not had the spin from either party on his departure, but looking back over his time, he was not exactly a roaring success was he? now the managers, over the period , were not exactly known for bringing youth on, but equally very little of his boys have actually progressed beyond divison one football.
  10. some of the team are the fittest/healthiest Ive seen them on return from summer break Competitive games are not available for preparation, only friendlies/bounce games and they become as competitive as the effort put in, some desire and competition for places would help in that department. McCall seems to prefer them having a longer summer break and do fitness work, his choice. it has never worked , in the sense that the first part of the season we have had some shockers, that often has the reactionist element on here, launching virtual season tickets away, it could be argued that his method has paid off over the longer season, which would be fair discussion. but, Financially, Motherwell football club, need cup games, these Euro games should have been treated as such, you would think after the Rovers cup game , that nothing would have been taken for granted.
  11. not quite sure why you want a charter travellers perspective, over anyone else but, It was great trip, this season we even started out with first team players and striking options, hell, we even got goals to celebrate, and I've not noticed anyone commenting on all the other near misses that had us off our feet. so in both games we had enough chances to easily be into double figures aggregate. and despite the fact players look healthier than the last couple of summers, it was once again clear that the simply have not been playing together enough to be ready But, in saying that, imho, the ties were lost by, switching from a sluggish but reasonably well balanced team with attacking options to whatever the fek the setup was after the same double sub in each tie. it was a horrendous decision last Thursday, to make it again was insanity by definition. PS Stjarnen in their current form and with the mentality they have, of not surrendering to anyone, would romp any of our lower divisions, hell they probably sneak a top six. edit: actally no but they would take enough points in the SPFL to embarass past teams like Hamilton Falkirk, Dundee etc but for what is was at stake, we should have been back together and playing matches, long before we were and we would have hit that double figure goal tally PS. I've no idea what your 'mrs' was saying when you listened , but if she stopped you going on the charter, she's a legend
  12. What difference would that make, when the police u describe are all from police Scotland , and all areas are down on available resource
  13. provide the required segregation. we have been stopped from using the tractor seats, which rules out the POD, the only other options would be losing large sections (probably two full sections) of East or Cooper. unlikely to encouraged by our forgiving fans. the fulham game, was PATG, Id guess the South was used , with respect to potential of visiting support
  14. to prevent a UEFA sanction its rules, do you really think the club would do it, for any other reason? a club that chooses not to open it for any other low crowd event. we have a stadium registered as a certain category and as such have to comply , with rules that others do not have to, like tractor seats, sitting empty
  15. prices will start to rise as soon as the sites detect increased traffic looking at routes, and as soon as bookings get made they'll rise more steeply. but then who would book on the basis of us going through, when the home or away legs have not been confirmed as yet?
  16. It wasn't Devlin , think it was K McDonald?
  17. I'd be thinking the plane will be bigger than that, what with the squad, management team, physios, doctors kit man, staff, press & media etc
  18. What does the full story actually say, any quotes or tangible evidence that story could have substance?
  19. They would book the flights on speculation, happens in all walks if life When the club then gets almost 3 times the minimum required allocation of tickets allocated I'm not sure how anyone can feel aggrieved , although I can fully understand frustration, at the arrangements not suiting some travel plans, FWIW I don't think there will be 400 or even 300, somewhere around 200-250 at most is my Guess, hopefully something can be worked out for all to see the match
  20. http://stadiumdb.com/stadiums/isl/stjornuvollur Just book a game of fives on the pitch behind one goal
  21. Every game more so in some, like pittodrie but definitely tested in every game
  22. I'm fairly sure if a schoolchild was to contact the club and provide proof they are still in fulltime education then they would pay the equivalent pricing. some folk seem to portray our club as draconian in nature
