you have to tell UEFA which ground you are using in advance of the competition.

teams rewarded for making top six by almost certainly losing out on home games income, the very reason that the business side of any club operates? and barely survives on. can't see them going for that but then the lottery of the split itself and the rarity of 19 home and 19 away for 12 clubs is a gamble that no sensible business manager would vote for.

Home game , Saturday 3pm ko , Think we'll get many more of them after the split? We have taken 19 points from the last 7 home matches. 22 from 8? would have called anyone mad if they had suggested it a couple of months back but we have the chance.
-
would Reid still be here? was he not only on a short term deal until summer after an injury crisis, boys done OK but not to the point where Id say better than the players we have under contract would it not be Ramsden RB, Cummins, Murray, Kerr, Mcmanus or whoever has deals in the middle?
-
yeah Celtic at home would probably be the biggest gate, not anywhere near a full house, but biggest, compared to the other 3 options. I wonder if the footballing dept' would opt for the other 3 at home over them?

So with the top six decided the teams will have the following tallies prior to the split: Celtic fc....... 16 home 17 away Due 3 home 2 away Aberdeen..... 16 home 17 away Due 3 home 2 away Motherwell... 16 home 17 away Due 3 home 2 away Dundee Utd.. 17 home 16 away Due 2 home 3 away I'ness Caley. 16 home 17 away Due 3 home 2 away St Johnstone 17 home 16 away Due 2 home 3 away Only two teams have played 17 home games, so as always due to the split at least one side is going to lose out on a home gate in difficult financial times. If Motherwell do get 3 home games, then in a sporting sense, we have added challenge of playing one of the opponents at their ground 3 times Motherwell have played: Celtic............. A H A due H Aberdeen...... H A H due A Dundee Utd.. A H A due H ICT............... A H A due H St J'stone..... A H A due H Whats your preference? who do you fancy home or away. the Lawell computer will off course deliver a balanced outcome as always

I think its times for this discussion to move to other football , but just to get folk that are interested the opportunity to mull over some facts: EDIT: Derry city, are participants in the top division of the member association which had to license them. UEFA do not have rules that absolutely prevent it, they only ask that the club is licensed to participate by the member association that enters the club in the UEFA competition. So it is all down to the integrity of the SFA, Stewart Regan still runs them doesn't he? The following, is the only thing the SFA may not license, the Rangers, for participation in the Europa competition However, expect to hear ARTICLE 15 SPECIAL PERMISSIONS, mentioned, if Rangers get to the final Article 15 of the UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play Regulations (2012 edition)states: AND to keep it Motherwell related, I think it best to focus on finishing third or above.

boost? reputation?

I agree that we have to deal with it. most of us will, but would take much more pleasure if he made a move like Murphy but trying to turn this back to Motherwell, and I'm not meaning this as a criticism more a reality, as I see it. its often commented that players don't progress as much as expected at our club, I agree they don't progress to their individual capability, but most are where I expect them to be. they need to move on to progress more , and go to clubs with specialist coaches and systems in place to bring them on as individuals, the way I see it , is we have one coach and a manager trying to bring on 20-25 players. I don't see how they two people can develop individuals and prepare a team, that's just how it is as I see it, over they ears we've also had various sports science coaches etc But can McCall or Black make Hutch a better player beyond what we have? maybe Butcher could have? But would Butcher have got so much out of Lasley and Carswell etc All our coaches have had great strengths but I think, we have too limited an income to make the next jump and have the extra staff in place to add some real value to our players all our boys develop with game time , with more experienced pro's passing on knowledge , whilst many themselves are doing coaching training. its works successfully to a level. as for the negatives in Hutchinsons game, I think many of the traits of his game you refer to , could actually positives given some development, when you look at the situations, its usually when he is taking on responsibility beyond his experience and covering for others, or beign one of only a few players trying to keep us in a game when others have thrown in towel, not always the best decisions as it turns out, but I'd rather have a player like Hutch who will run through a brick wall for his team mates , that some of the others we've had who will happily hide when the going gets tough

Not banned from anything, clubs without 3 years accounts would not normally be participants in uefa competitions. Or indeed be members of Scottish association football

Mostly all of this, surprised at how many choose to say that Neilsen had nothing to do, selective vision from some I think. he had some very good saves and mostly solid. assisted by some good defending from all four Big Hutch was immense, he nearly had the perfect game, clean sheet, last ditch tackles, blocks on the line and was only inches away with that header from the corner. Ainsworth and Sutty do the business again. Midfield settled into a decent game, more to come from them I'm sure Faddy is a brilliant as he is useless at times, but he provides entertainment and a spark. reckon he probably came out the womb arguing with someone because he didn't get the full 90minutes.

Takes a special person to take a miserable thread down a little bit more
-
The ones that make it, deserve any credit possible, no different from our support. Any digs are in rather poor taste
-
Never noticed but yes he is meant to be there with some others
-
I'll take some more of this,
-
and why would that have any relevance?

I don't know, I've seen them both over a similar number of games and they've performed to a similar level. so if you're saying Dan is worth a contract then, yes, so is Lee, I don't care for the past history of players, like you do with Hollis, if I did, then Dan would never get a look in at Motherwell either, or have you failed to check his history Oh but wait that would mean Gunnar would be a star....... suppose what I'm saying is on a night after a game, that the Keeper made no errors of significance in, but in reality kept us in it a few times. much like the previous game I'd choose not to make my only comments in the match thread be about needing a keeper
-
Hollis made more crucial stops today than Dan had to make in his six games
-
Skys Mark Benstead, tweeting, on review, its looks like officials got it correct
-
just checked an added the DOBs , young yes, but they're old enough to be making the breakthrough, shame they've not got more game time, we're gonna need a lot of them pretty soon

disappointed to read a thread on a boycott but cant believe a few hypocrites , knocking those who will not spend their money visiting a stadium where they feel its not worth the £22/£12 for whatever reason. saying that, maybe I'm wrong , and, I can look forward to all these great supporters showing up at Celtic Park, because the team needs you and that's all that matters should be a what 7-800, maybe a thousand given its close proximity. if anyone chooses not to go because they feel Hibs , are in the wrong, fine by me, same if its because its £22 a head or because the scheduled date changed with only 2 weeks notice. probably only a handful of fans on a full set of games this season, most everyone makes choices, nae drum at one ground but its welcome at another and you have to make a choice between them, then its a perfectly valid factor for some.

No argument here weeyin, I was still tracking it, like may others would've been also , securing top six is a significant achievement in it's own right, for all the reasons you mention. I've found it interesting to watch the meltdown around the social media sites from our supporters who over the last month, whilst barely even acknowledging the achievement of securing top six. Even the club no longer mention it as a goal achieved? Too right it is an achievement, just how much will probably only be measured when the spend of all the teams for the campaign is revealed in a year.

Our top six berth was confirmed weeks ago, guess its a sign of expectations that there is no running commentary on it, in here, any more. I'm thinking Terry will have them battling again by next week, might not be pretty , but am hopeful that we can take something
