  1. there was Fire in the Stand on Friday night, real flames and everything. previously some overheated switchgear/capacitors, led to some smoke which forced the shutdown of floodlights which led to a match abandonment no fire, nothing used to extinguish the invisible fire, just smoke and a story to justify abandoning a match. no need for the tabloid style sensationalism to jazz it up, Celtic ?Ultras? trashed the joint, their name is mud, their clubs own fans have turned on them, their club might actually do something about it now, policescotland will now have more justification to continue chapping doors in a safe controlled manner, stewards live on, to earn £30 quid or so another day, the match got finished and we don't have to suffer it again many wanting police to wade in, think about what your asking for, think how that affects our club, our leagues image on live TV and the costs forced on us to host all matches in the future, think about how it affects our traveling fans, like just the week before if that were a current tactic of Police Scotland it would have got quite messy, anything outside the ground should've been dealt with a civil disorder, hopefuly it will have. the Police were embarrassed by the events at Green street, no doubt it'll have been washed under the carpet as our clubs and well societys investigation will come to nothing. but you could see they employed different tactics the weeks after, but hey most of our fans want that tactic to be employed now,
  2. Sensationalist pish, no match has been abandoned for a fire in that stand
  3. fucking moronic comment have you ever smashed a seat or a sign inside a football ground?
  4. you've given me hope as I'm pretty sure you posted an almost identical moan last season about a run of home form
  5. actually not too bothered about losing to them, done well first half hour to hold them considering the gulf Really annoyed at the half hearted effort by a couple of players, when the quality is not there all we have is effort and too many are not putting it in whilst on the park. then there is the complete lack of structure and position at times, baffling, looks like they just are not drilling in the basics hope Nielsen isn't hurt bad East Stand group were outstanding
  6. just watched this weeks pre match pressers, on facebook, and when they finish the link loops back automatically to last weeks pre-match press brief I've just about kept a lid on it all week, but that just pissed me right off #professional approach, just a fuckin soundbite obviously, how does that leave us, going forward? Was just about over Ibrox, when he abandoned the Euro-tie at Halftime and wasted the experience, St Johnstone was pathetic, could live with Aberdeen, but messing about in the most important game of the season, not even watching them, not starting strong then resting players, not even filling the bench? LD should be kicking his arse and he should be publicly acknowledging his part in the shambles, not be-moaning the lack of quality, Saturday was all about attitude and he set the tone
  7. bring almost anything back for next season and get rid of the black training top that the players lounge about in when the games start
  8. the first instance the temporary transfer has to run until the first day of the following registration period, rule 80 then allows: Division one, when mentioned in the SPFL rules is the top division or premiership
  9. that holds the club administrators up in a shining light if true, not as if Scottish cup weekend was a surprise date in the calendar Even if no intention to use them, they should have been listed and pitch side in case they were needed, its an aside as you say but a real reflection of of how unprofessional or indeed arrogant we were terrible blow for him if it goes that way, and just another blow when the club is at a real low ebb
  10. either then or a few weeks later , writing off the European tie and not even trying to win the game, gave the message that we don't need to fight and play as a team. we've been dealt some tough hands this season, but McCall and Black have not impressed at all, when dealing with it, but more worrying is the self inflicted damage with squad rotation and crazy positional selections. Ive said it all along, any player should have to play to claim a squad place, if your injured or tired or suspended you lose your place, if whoever steps in does as good a job they keep the place. McCall every season has been guilty of trying to shoehorn his favourites in over others who performed well, its worked for him as we've had better and fitter players who stepped back in, this season, his choices , have left all wondering , what the first team really is? and what the stand ins have to do to keep their place. yesterdays selection should have been good enough, if they were keen and motivated, but not having the players ready from the bench is an insult to the paying punters and the players left out. Un-professional? no, probably worse, just lazy , with a poor attitude and under prepared. EDIT: and this is so true it hurts,
  11. Probably put us in to a very bad result for the financial year, Likely call on Well Society funds that are depleting with out enough replenishment Cash loss in European football, horsed out the league cup with almost no cash income, horsed out Scottish cup, likely fine or damage costs, loss of key commercial income in run up to festive season. I'd say this result is pivotal to putting us back a year or two in real terms
  12. Wow, this one should get an award
  13. The club have opened up a raffle, £5 a ticket, which gets you a place in the draw, to win, Hospitality, as full match sponsor, allowing you, up to 20 people, pre-match bar, 4 course meals, half time refreshments, post match 1hour bar, choose and present MOTM and get MFC gifts, at the game on January 1st 2014 vs St Johnstone Tickets on sale, at the online purchase option here: http://www.motherwellbuyonline.co.uk/products/the-great-big-new-year-raffle-prize-for-you-and-your-friends-kick-off-2014-in-style-win-the-chance-to-be-our-match-day-sponsor worth a punt? I reckon so...... Official blurb:
  14. Highlights up, http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/scotland/25079439#asset pleasing performances from a few who have been distracted of late
  15. just in case anyone looking in and cant see shout box, FT 0-2 Sutton then Anier sealing it on 88mins
  16. wonder what if any increased revenue makes that decision? sounds like we've accepted 3000 tickets, so Cliftonhill it would have been a sell out 1200 @ £15? around £18000 new Douglas park, what around 3500? at max £15? more likely average around £11-12, £42000 wonder what it costs to hire a stadium and host a match with the bigger crowd and unknown facilities.... then they get to split profit, after charges, with us maybe £5-6k per club? maybe get some hospitality profits, but as rough as calculation as it is, shows where the game is for many clubs on a financial edge lets hope more than 2666.67 turn up
  17. Minutes silence before todays kick off. looking forward to seeing some of the boys come back in for some match time
  18. you ever paid into the Phil O'Donnell stand on normal gate prices? I thought this was a joke thread and was surprised to see so many responses for what its worth, I'd love some of the lads and lassies to drop in at the North end of the East, a healthy number of the kids in the Cooper up at that corner are getting involved and taking an interest in trying to participate, when the sound travels far enough for them to clap in time or do the hauns. one wee lad at the North East corner flag , in the Cooper has his flag out every game he's at, flying it high and having a go on his own with his wee pal joining in, Love to see it and all because of the buzz the Bois have created down the other end. Feel free to send a scout party up anytime you have enough to spread out
  19. I'm terrible at recalling games, and wondered about this one, until Walters stepped up to take that penalty and it all came flooding back, nearly wiped out the Knowetop pie stall, so he did, how we laughed.... Legends and we never really knew or appreciated just how good they were.... massive games coming up, one after the other for weeks on end, rest players? nae chance said Tommy, they can play for their places
  20. Cummins not had a lot of game time since being out injured. might be a chance to see Euan Murray
  21. anyway what I came onto say: although not sure its the correct thread for it Aberdeen released their financial accounts during the night ( in a stealthy manner?) Losses up to £1.44 million Turnover down £0.5million and wages up to a massive £5.25million wages that shadow our clubs entire turnover, Staggering, in no way a measure of why we lost the cup game, but a measure of how well, our club has done, to out perform them over the last few years
  22. come one Nian, you've clearly hit a downer in life, if supporting Motherwell, can be classed as a current unfortunate period. and yes, to you, some posts might look like reacting to 'any' negative post, but step back, most of the people you spend too much time going round social media slating, actually do criticise component parts of the ups and downs. what most object to is the mass hysteria following a couple of defeats or a couple of signings that appear to be not working, or even be it , a lull in the undoubted successful period in the clubs history that is the last 7 years. if some of the posters would just back of, from the need to slate everything and exaggerate the problems, then perhaps others would back of, trying to point that out , by trying to counter it with reminders of all things positive well4europe has some decent points in amongst his posts but has repeatedly said the team didn't try on Wednesday and we created almost no chances, to me that's just Bullshit, and not based on any rational view but through a blinkered view post match with some anger and hurt that comes with a loss, the over dramatics , then rile others as much as you seem to get riled, by positive outlooks. in a league competition , you have to compare to whats happening to the competition around you, I'd say on a whole, the current regime is doing not too bad, with the resources available Cup defeats hurt, but the team and management did try to win it, came up short against a better team, tough as it is to accept, nae point isolating it as a measure of where the cub is at present
  23. I know that, but imagine the explosion of grief and urine soaked underwear. was gonna say on here, but with the recent additions of many Motherwell social media platforms I'd say, the much lambasted Steelmenonline actually has more of a balance to it than many platforms
