  1. rip you a new one or maybe I was just looking up the first search result to try and work out WTF you were on about, since your link only gave a name I've no idea how pre-season works, or if this lad will ever be at Fir park its nice to know you think its case of just spreading rumours
  2. Signed a 4 year deal in June 2010, and has a sell on fee/clause due to his previous club as well. does that make it more unlikely?
  3. So first agreement signed sealed and paid in full Usually try and reserve a junior player and a senior player, not always possible but very happy thanks to the contributions so far to be able to help the club out and give someone the chance to pick up the sponsors gifts at the end of the season Stuart Carswell, Young lad has performed very well so far EDIT: should have added , happy to leave this open and try and raise enough for a second contribution to the club, think the lowest amount is £275 for an away shirt sponsor?
  4. I know you jest but....... Now send in a fiver to help get some players in You know I've asked, after all who wouldn't and who would giv away that scoop?
  5. lots of those PATG and floating supporters did commit, hence the increase in season tickets, again, but the clubs own long term policies mean that leads to a drop in income, but speculatively installs hope for fan retention, sadly all the usual obstacles that prevent fans regular attendance are left in place, and with the missing games the good value appears to be removed, for some lots of good work at the club, but it is still stupidly difficult to put money in, and lots of little flaws that trip up the good work. you touch on another good point though, Visiting fans are the key factor in the loss, and lets be honest the club are woeful at doing anything about it, if nothing is put in place to attract Partick Thistle fans at their first visit it will be clear that the club has no intention of sorting the issue PS and Rangers were not demoted, they ceased to exist and were lucky to get licensed and allowed to rejoin League football at the normal entry point
  6. Received it , cheers, Just waiting on confirmation back from the club regarding the first player sponsored
  7. received your own and OPrimes in the post today, thanks Dave Received it in the account, Cheers Andrew
  8. Cheers guys, contributions received into Paypal sorry forgot PM didnt work until you have something like ten posts, yeah as Andy P says that email will work, or when I checked paypal tonight I seen an email address for you so have sent one your way from my regular email thanks again folks, one strip guaranteed now, but more than happy to leave it open to go for two strips, or a small donation to youth development on top of one strip if the funds dry up?
  9. Cheers C&B, received the payment and updated list in first post, can you PM me an email address so i can stay in touch with updates
  10. Cheers folks, I received all those transfers into paypal (and sneaked online earlier and updated post #1) cheers, well-army, happy to wait until people get home from holiday or get paid etc the pledges, let me judge if we can reach any target, I'm happy to underwrite some of it, like now, with around £300 pledged/contributed, I can confirm to the club that we want at least one strip allocated.
  11. Cheers weeyin, Received in PayPal , and updated in first post Like always I'll be delighted if we can get together enough to sponsor one strip. But if we can get more, all the better, club gets cash and at least one person wins the opportunity for a great night out and a relatively unique piece of memorabilia Cheers.
  12. Thanks fellas and I also got a payment from Big Wispy Flossy all marked up in first post
  13. Cheers SD, and with that I now know paypal still works!
  14. going to try and raise funds to sponsor at least one player again. it'll be the 9th season by the WTFC-steelmenonline forums If you want to join in, just pledge an amount in this thread and I'll add it to the first post as we go THE IDEA & COSTS The idea is that people contribute in multiples of £5 in order to get their name on 'raffle ticket' for a draw. Each £5 increment will get a name on a ticket & place in the draw The winner of the draw will receive the sponsors privileges ( sponsored top & opportunity to receive it at an end of season event) So, if you donate £5, you will get one chance at winning the strip/s, whereas a £20 donation will get you four chances and so on....... It's basically whatever you can afford, but £5 is the minimum pledge. I thought about making it £10 but folk in the past have pledged various multiples of £5 and it all goes into the club not everyone can sponsor a player as an individual, but doing it like this we can help support club and every fiver contributed has approximately a 1 in 65'ish chance of winning It costs up to £350 to sponsor each player, last year we managed to reach £700 to sponsor two euro tops @£350 each which was pretty amazing so hopefully as a group we can get some money together again and help out PAYMENT options: Send PayPal payment to.... iainmande@hotmail.com , PayPal takes a cut but if the contribution is marked as a GIFT payment then I should receive the full amount and the sender covers the charge Please remember to include your board name in the PayPal payment so I can mark it off, and also that it's for sponsorship and remember its a GIFT payment message me with a PM or post here, if you require postal details to send a cheque or if you'd rather meet up and pay cash. I think Ecky and Stipelsgod'dad had a good evening out last month as our winners, at the night in the centenary suite in the company of players and management. 2013-2014 pledges (paid in bold) SteveDiggle £20 SMc £20 Big Wispy Flossy £20 Denny C £20 WeeYin £25 DelBoy £20 yosemitesam £20 NottsMFC £20 snap19 £20 Linsey12 £10 ClaretandBamber £20£40 Ecky £25 coolhandluc £10 siebsbarmyarmy £20 specialaka £15 Kmcalpin £20 Optimus Prime £20 Andrew K £10 Well_nuts £20 Mad_Dog £50 JoeWarkTheLegend £10 Toxteth_OGrady £10 Andy P £10 Brazilian £65 StipelsGod £ wellarmy £10
  15. Can't decide if your just being ignorant or I'm being whooshed? Who was the last guy we signed from a team from Paisley who finished 11th in the SPL? Nb: past success is no reflection on potential of new signings but would surely at least deter the stigma of who a player is signing from, jeez we've signed a few players who had no club, that aren't supposedly good enough to be pro players
  16. Shucks hopefully we'll get back to talking about a couple of players signing in, before the next couple of players confirm their move out. some people say its good to dream, Faddy on his European debut and a cup run SIWY
  17. You seem to be doing a good job of letting bullshit stand in the way, so we'll let you carry on Others seem to be making more balanced judgements on his actual performances and potential if playing alongside better players in a better league You're just making a poor attempt a justifying slating his capabilities I'd ask for your judgement on our players if Law is nothing but a journeyman, but fear you'd end up in counselling after the realisation that he was one of the better footballers we've had Like the ugly fella that's just lost a good looking girl you stick to slating her, trying to convince everyone she was never that braw, and we'll move on to the next challenge,
  18. Pretty sad how hung up on Rangers, so many Motherwell fans are, a Rangers that are sitting two divisions away at present A Rangers that are losing £1million a month and will be lucky to survive Nicky Law has been a fine servant to Motherwell FC, he honoured his deal. never once looked disinterested. sure I didnt want him or any 'Well player to end up there, but its his choice. right now the pretty sad thing is, all the good work done by the Well support to embrace players and make us a little bit different and develop bonds where players might just come back and serve again is being undone. Players that are sitting considering contracts with Motherwell are watching the two faced fans dish out dogs abuse to a lad that always done his best by Motherwell and help us reach a new high as a club. Nicky Law said his goodbyes a week ago, everybody thanked him, shame so many are just like the knuckle draggers and couldnt have left it at that.
  19. he's not played it very clever so far, couldve easily had it all done on the QT, without the huge press coverage only days before saying how good Motherwell was for him and never speaking to anyone Butcher recovered from his interview jaunt trying to leave ICT. Stuarty will just have to mimic that, tbh, committing and getting the few players to commit who are already hovering will endear him enough as well as the courtesy of acknowledging his undoubted success to date
  20. Falkirk fans I know couldnt wait for Pressley to GTF McCall will be back tail between legs, having been played
  21. Yeah its clear that the proposal from those numbers was never 'for the good of the game' to close the gaps and allow all the opportunity to compete and progress, hell it doesnt even address the issue at the top and needing 22 votes from the SFL , yet taking money off quite a chuck of them it was clear that some dastardly tactics were at play, some would say almost to force it to fail at the SFL vote. the SFL numbers actually look closer to the balance that the message was sold on, allowing for monetary balanced competition from 3rd into 2nd and a little stability to to those below although I'd argue just the straight £10k awards to the bottom league is a bit rich, but when all but one SPL club is signing away a huge slice for their budget, I cannot get away from the SPL prize money still being so 'enhanced' seems the lack of support from the SFL also stems from the highly secretive voting rights and who really will be pulling the strings, and who can blame them
  22. so ignoring this seasons one off?, 2nd place prize money carve up to help the other clubs finances this is the reporting of the new propsals from the society briefing on the original reconstruction doesnt seem that much different although no real numbers were given only overall amounts note: the lower SFL clubs dont actually request all that much fuding, in fact nothing more from the SPL pot, but the somewhat faked good of the game line being fed seems more to be for the good of any of the SPL clubs who drop out for a a few seasons now if only the top position in the whole sorry house of cards was to truly give up a fair portion of the prize money then everyone could sahre and get more than the stand off is asking for: http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/aberdeen/226511-revealed-the-different-financial-models-which-will-decide-reconstruction/ Pos.SPL current/proposed change SFLproposed change 1 2720000 2405514 -314487 2405514 -314487 2 2400000 1717454 -682546 1717454 -682546 3 1520000 1460555 -59446 1460555 -59446 4 1360000 1288629 -71371 1288091 -71910 5 1280000 1202757 -77243 1201859 -78142 6 1200000 1116884 -83116 1117423 -82577 7 1120000 1056701 -63299 1056342 -63658 8 1040000 1005142 -34858 1006040 -33960 9 960000 987895 27895 988075 28075 10 880000 902023 22023 901843 21843 11 800000 816150 16150 815611 15611 12 720000 730277 10277 729379 9379 13 68000 386248 318248 323370 255370 14 67000 343132 276132 287440 220440 15 66000 300016 234016 251510 185510 16 65000 256900 191900 215580 150580 17 64000 240731 176731 197615 133615 18 62000 188633 126633 170668 108668 19 61000 172464 111464 161685 100685 20 60000 154499 94499 152703 92703 21 59000 138331 79331 143720 84720 22 57000 120366 63366 125755 68755 23 56000 102401 46401 89825 33825 24 55000 86232 31232 88029 33029 25 54000 56769 2769 82639 28639 26 53000 52099 -902 77250 24250 27 51000 51200 200 73657 22657 28 50000 50302 302 68267 18267 39 49000 49404 404 66471 17471 30 48000 48506 506 64674 16674 31 47000 46709 -291 62878 15878 32 45000 44913 -88 61081 16081 33 44000 43116 -884 59285 15285 34 43000 42218 -782 57488 14488 35 42000 41320 -681 55692 13692 36 40000 40421 421 53895 13895 37 39000 39523 523 52099 13099 38 38000 38625 625 50302 12302 39 37000 37727 727 48506 11506 40 36000 35930 -70 46709 10709 41 34000 34134 134 44913 10913 42 33000 32337 -663 43116 10116
  23. Was gonna rant about how bad that article is but as its from a full week ago I'll chill
  24. SFL indicated in show off hands that proposals would not be accepted Expected that SFL1 clubs will walk away and ask To join SPL FWIW , I'm about scunnered with it all, and going by the general lack of interest on the different forums guess most are, SPL brand is damaged beyond repair in my eyes but they seem to think everything is fine and we should carry on under the banner, to effectively expand the closed shop with an SPL2 can do no short or long term good, If STV publication on the distribution of wealth for the proposal is accurate then it quite clearly shows who is still shaping events, 1st place only giving up £300ish k but 2nd giving up nearer £700k says it all, that's not in any where near a fair and well balanced distribution model
