  1. it was his own man that was left in acres of space, happened a couple of times when Higdons man went for back post and Higgy got drawn towards cross ball his man then backed off into space, important thing was Higdons effort/determination to recover and block, but definitely something to work on for the coaches, as other teams will see his focus on the ball and not the man and exploit it
  2. there is a history of Motherwell fans judging players capabilities and writing them off for certain roles far too early in their limited appearances for us, but it restores faith when you jump on the bandwagon
  3. Reconstruction open forum Only capacity for 120 fans Email details in official site article to receive confirmation if space available for you Also email questions if you cannot make @MotherwellFC: Motherwell Football Club will host an open fans forum on league reconstruction this coming Thursday, 11th April: http://t.co/S531rGwpsk
  4. Nonsense, doing the Carswell up at Aberdeen was a gem of a celebration , he can stick to doing the Higgy and I'll cheer it just the same

    Dundee Game

Have you ever seen a Motherwell, St.Mirren game?

    Dundee

Big Shaun Hutchinson for me, he played the full 90 minutes, others impressed, but only in spells. Big fella was all over the back covering up for others Faddy is different class, had three or four on him at times, freeing up all the others, and his knowledge on positioning and general work-rate is an example to all the developing players around him, nothing decisive from him to day but he worked the Dee hard and allowed others space
  7. with no league sponsors and a flawed TV deal , the SFL reporting that its unlikely to get the required 22? clubs backing, then its almost guaranteed that SPL 2 will raise its head again I've about no fight left in me, hell mend them if they do, but then again they may well be dammed if they dont
  8. I'm quite happy he has signed on again not elated like some, Stuart McCall has many good skills and redeeming features, I still see him having the need to develop on some technical aspects of the game and on his stubborness to drop tactics or players that are not working during a game or run of games as well as the sidenote of the nedd to talk up our positives instead of the oppositions, but he IS a very successful Motherwell manager and I am appreciative that it was unlikely we could have taken on a more experienced well rounded manager. Stuart deserves this deal, and I expect he really wants the opportunity of gaining another Euro spot and the prize of managing again in European competition if he gets there. with the expected budget cuts (SFL have all but kiboshed the restructure next season), I think we'll be lucky for him to see out one full season of the deal, with him moving on for compensation, and us continuing to develop or resurrect managers careers as well as players Thanks for signing on Stuart, good job, so far, lets hope you can drag a little bit more success out

  10. so we still about £100 short? Ive just sent a fiver, can probably throw another few quid in if we're going to be short
  11. I'll probably do none of the above unlikely to re-new, certainly not the extra one probably attend the Saturday 3 pm ko's and others that suit that'll probably be around 10 home games and similar away games
  12. Carswell must have played well, with so many people mistaking him for Faddy
  13. dont think we'll see a Motherwell v Hibs game on a Saturday at 3 O'Clock for a while it nearly always produces the sort of stats the tv companies will love
  14. Hi folks sorry about the delay, I made up all the raffle tickets for every £5 contributed, and got up to the club today Where ticket office manager Wendy, very kindly made the draw. Winner of Shaun's strip was StipelsGod And Stevies was won by Ecky They'll both also get the invites to the sponsors night (and hopefully take some photos!) Many thanks to everyone that contributed
  15. Good chance you'll get a job with the SPL with your success rate
  16. I agree, the £22 we charge visiting fans is not going to encourage any boost, Friday night or otherwise was a big support that night with hibs, massive organised displays etc from Sect 43, masses of cheap travel buses arranged from a supporters forum, and they were flying at the time, looking forward to a Cup tie with Hearts the following weekend huge buzz about their team at the time, but I didnt think it was 2000, total crowd was 5301? I thought their big support was the previous Friday December game, they brought 1460 fans, who all enjoyed welcoming their new manager and benefited from £10 entry and it was not televised, season ticket holders also got free friends ticket, crowd that night was 6741 either way, the full price , Televised game on Friday night, had quite a hugeimpact on the Motherwell support, which should be the primary concern
  17. It is only the middle eight section that gets zeroed (bottom 4 from SPL + top 4 from SFL1) Think Texan has been on the moonshine if he thinks Celtic would play 22games and go to zero
  18. I'm sure some stat to will know, have we ever had a fair and balanced split of fixtures since the introduction of the split Farcical, that prizes and payments are distributed, based on results where one half of the competition for any place has benefited from home advantage over league rivals
  19. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/383328/Motherwell-frontman-Nicky-Law-refuses-to-rule-out-Rangers-switch Actual quotes from Nicky, polite response to rumours, maybe a little too polite , but needing a new contract and probably hoping to make a step up, he probably needs to appear that way to impress any watching clubs
  20. Surprised at some of them, although that bracket for Randolph looks on that to be around $150k upwards Would also be interesting to know if the package overseas players receive would enhance those numbers But still, for similar money, Div 2 football and all the grief or potentially a rather nice life in the states as a comparison I know what I would choose all on speculation of course
  21. Law and Randolph both regularly voice their love of all things USA I've no idea if that would include living and working there But I'd imagine if both were just after money , they would walk into MLS and have a pretty decent lifestyle, likewise they would have a fairly good shout of receiving better wages at many teams down South I don't see all that much wrong with Mark Hateleys article I don't see what banning a players dad would do to benefit Motherwell It would have been nice if he had the decency to say something along the lines of, that Motherwell are unlikely to be able to retain all off the players out of contract so any that become free would be good targets for The Rangers But saying we have very good players that another team would do well to get on board is hardly akin to having them round to his gaff and getting them to pose in The Rangers strips for a back page splash
  22. read that its Jim Cruikshank of Hearts, quite a legend for them played 610 games
