Catch 22 If the club reported that manager talking to players about extending but then can't report they sign extensions as most of them will be unlikely too , then interested clubs bid low in the window or just tap them up But saying that this report brings nothing positive at all, now im sure we'll get the usual soundbites that journalist has taken McCall words and twisted them to a story , but it has really pissed me off, that yet again , we're flying high and our leader happily gives a story out that shows our club as weak and poor, in a league that's poor The media man and directors are always reminding us we need to be positive about what's happening with our club, perhaps they should have a word with Stuart, whom a lot of the potential fans will take a measure of interest in

off topic but its a bit early for that deduction clubs still waiting on SPL funding that was due pre-season, crowds look to be down, TV money down, maybe not as bad as forecast but cuts still being made and probably a year or two to restructure the budgets anyhoo Higgy just scored on Alba

Depends what the finances are really like Cup games have been reported to have a significant impact on the clubs profit or loss in a season with a couple of cup ties being worth hell of a lot more than one or two places in the league be nice if we knew WTF was going on with the finances now that we've been exposed to all the threats in the close season but finances aside, I think I'd like a go at a cup this season so would prefer to take a win in that game, and if we have to slip up then drop something in the league (if 6 points is too greedy )

that was a woeful performance and line up today Delighted with the result, a lot of credit to a couple of individuals in earning the points very grateful to Randolph for keeping us in it, McCall took, way too long, to react when Motherwell were little more than spectators in the first half. Hately is one of the fittest and best players we've had in recent years but he doesnt fit into our midfield in anyway Omar Daley, I dont think deserves a squad place let alone game time over others who work hard and show more desire and capability in a Motherwell jersey, every player occasionally gives away possession but he just laughs and smiles as if it doesnt matter the second Sub' really surprised me as I dint think Adam was struggling,(apart from losing man and goal!) but thanks to Henriks drive we got in front, so well done Stuart and the players for sorting out a terrific three points, just seemed to do it the very hard way

I was getting pretty scunnered at the lack of information coming out of the club on the 'Well society, having pushed pretty hard to get people on board it was getting embarrassing when I was being questioned about progress or information an email is in the process of being distributed with an update, and I hope that communication improves from the society, even if its just a courteous 'not much changed due to X,Y or Z' bulletin I still think its a good way through, the lack of investors, and hope more people continue to sign up, the first official meeting of the society is now just over a month away, never a better time to get involved.

catching up I've just remembered, Cooper playing Keepie Up, on the touchline only a yard or so in front of an absolutely seething Hearts enclosure whilst waiting to take a throw in whilst play was stopped.

Miodrag Krivocapic celebrating after scoring at Easter road an absolute legend of a defender but anybody that bet on him scoring mustve been loaded Video doesnt really show it but his celebration up onto the hoardings with us was memorable http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_ambgnSqRI 93-95 we were spoiled team littered with legends for that generation just remembered the Tommy Coyne (ma Lord) duping Dunfermline?(maybe St mirren) at Fir Park by kneeling down and tieing his boot laces, as the were doubling up on him, thru ball and he had the couple of yards he needed to beat them from the half way line

Don't know if context is appropriate but 'as brave as a Lion'

Crowd For Ibrox - League Cup Game
Brazilian replied to walking down the Fir Park's topic in Club Chat
that depends, if it is £20 a head, Rangers get to take 15% costs so £3 then Motherwell split the gate getting half of £17 so £8.50 if it was at Fir Park we would pay the tax on the £20 leaving only £16 - £2.40 costs leaving only £13.60 split two ways giving us £6.80 -

Cheers Netherton that refreshes the mind a little the loss might only be predicted, but the events have already occurred and with the lack of transfers out and the rest thats went on it would be quite a misjudgment on the boards part if we report a significant profit ( we can hope) almost (remember the quoted article was pre Rangers liquidation) but after cutting the Budget by £200-300k, the Rangers Debacle occurred Leaving the already cutback budget with another chunk missing which with some facts the Well society members received and some speculation still leaves us down on that target going into the season even with two Euro games (and probably the reason money circled to go towards contracts for Craggs, Jennings etc disappeared at that time) now the board have mentioned that cup games make all the difference and can deliver better rewards than placing higher up the league IF we receive 35-40% of a good gate in the Ibrox cup game that goes someway towards easing the concern but as so often mentioned the requirement to finance the strategic reserve due to the lack of financial backing is/should be the priority
-
The board have already made funds available to bring in at least one player, dare say they are still available and hopefully things will happen the initial budget cuts were because of a loss last year of a few hundred thousand (lost figure just now) the Rangers debacle and the figures distributed showed how precarious our finances had got to again due to living hand to mouth I'd be happy to see a couple of players added to the squad, but based on only the revised budget from the summer not based on a cup game that hasnt happened yet two home games were already in the budget so cannot be added as extra income, albeit welcome Panathanaikos and Levante games didnt exactly bring in budget changing incomes , the cup game has the potential to deliver a boost albeit it seems previously we have budgeted for cup progression?
-
Think McCall has still lots to learn about talking to Glaswegian journos Almost no praise at all for our players, yet rangers have all the best players from the SPL out with Celtic We need positive press stories to try and encourage folk back to Fir Park
-
not having a go at yourself, its a much branded reason but if a football fan has paid to watch SPL football at all they've been giving them money for years ever attended cup games in season they've won cups they've given them money and if anyone has viewed Scottish football on TV then its given them money Hell we still give them money and theyre in the SFL in what is likely to be a one off or at most likely one of two matches against them in a few years, I reckon handing them £15? and Motherwell getting back around £6 of it isn't exactly selling your soul, especially if Motherwell get another £100,000 from their fans contribution be good to get even 600 or so of us inside Ibrox, the players and management have always acknowledged the support they get on the road Hope to get to it dependent on scheduling and that we scud them!
