double it and I dont think we would be able to afford Jim O'Brien and this stage, even if he's injured ( which he currently is) Edit: doh! assumption you typed £200k
-
I think its a non starter as well but not much else to talk about regarding moves...... and nothing wrong with seeing what planet folk are on regarding speculated valuations
-
maybe the price is, but the approach by Celtic was talked about by McCall so its now up for debate, and for a player on his last year, that we signed on a free , on moderate footballing wages, that is inconsistent at best and definitely needs better coaching than we give £200k is pretty decent starting point
-
imho the rumours and confirmations of reported interest or bids on our players is a step forward, in whats required to increase the clubs visibility and help take us forward another small step McCall confirming Celtic enquired about Chris a couple of weeks ago, just publicises hes available at a price, right now it looks like we're desperate as it unusual even to us as fans seeing it and it also keeps us informed that we're looking to sell more than one player anything in the region of a few hundred thousand + incentives for Chris should be taken I think folk are getting carried away with valuations, whilst more is always better, its got to be realistic, compared to signing fee, wages, length of contract, performance to date and potential Chris Humphrey to Celtic would be a great move for the player, even if he did sit on the bench, he's a family guy 24 years old, peaked within our coaching capability and whilst Celtic are primarily a domestic club they are still a higher level in terms of structure pay rates etc than I'd most of us would expect for Chris, and no doubt in a few years,, even if he was only ever a squad player he would get a decent move if only even based on him being a former celtic player

One wee 'Wellfan is loving his trip to Valencia
-
Mmmmmmm, bookies reckon; Motherwell to win both halves. 100/1 But very short odds for our players to score anytime
-
No It's nothing to do with 24hours prior to kick off, but the one squad change/signing allowed has to be registered before midnight CET the night before the first leg
-
I'd be more worried if he drove a tank Grehan at least is a footballer
-
I'm sure if I was at the game Id still not have heard what Hutch shouted at thomson as he got the first yellow, my thoughts on viewing it not hearing it
-
Missed the game but: Looks from highlight that the decisions were not miles off Think thats the first time I've seen Hutchinson react like that think your being harsh with your statement if it is a one off whatever that c**t Thomson said, it fair riled him and whatever Hutch responded with walking off the park looked to be the reason for the first yellow, and whatever was said seemed to stick with the Ref as he couldnt wait to give the second yellow, albeit, not hard to see how easy it was for him to show it. MFCtv highlights show St Mirren more than 50% of the time so if that indicative seems 1-1 as a few have said was always coming Edit: and unless the MFCtv editor done it specifically, our ongoing problem of giving the ball away seems to give the opposition more chances than the create on their own

Euan Norris gets a reasonable review on the official site not making this one due to the move to sunday, my second least favourite fixture, only worse one is in Paisley, so may of them are dire affairs hopefully a win to keep things ticking over, but if I bet on Motherwell I'd go for a 0-0 draw as I'm not there, good chance it'll be a thriller
-
his debut was also as a sub was it not
-
I was going to type sell at least one player It's probably quite realistic if we get the chance to sell, more than one will go But do think it's a case of ''have'" to sell one
-
but we do Have to sell someone this season, and the player that usually generates most interest is the star player or the one that demonstrates the most potential and you've pointed out who you think that is
-
All of this and his new found status as Estonias next big thing, he's (we are) getting huge media coverage in his homeland. hence I'd hope we still have people around the club to have a supportive word all part of team building, bonding etc nice that in amongst the extremists sometimes discussing possible reasons players ups and downs can still happen
-
even in times of dire need through lack of available players, we'd maybe play them to their individual strengths , one gets reviews for being particularly strong going forward and one has made a pretty solid career out of staying back most of the time with it having not really worked out the time he was tried in midfield
-
some Motherwell fans are mental
-
I cannae be bothered diggin it all out but we have progressed in Europe we've played what in effect is a round further advanced in competition every campaign of the last three at least
-
and we did for the next 15-20 minutes played half decent, which they mopped up due the the inadequacies that have been mentioned, Murph wrong footed and doubled up, Hammell not getting beyond him, our midfield being out numbered and unable to pick out any killer forward movement due to be closed down etc. or being able to overlap Higdon holding the ball up so that left around a quarter of the match and thats the section that disappoints me, as I think the changes couldve been better, but with some realism that we dont really have the resources to effect changes that turnaround matches
-
yeah the flowers were presented in memory of Phil the boo's just embarassing, jeez we used to huddle at the start of the match, just shows how hung up some are about sellick

no but from your posts here and elsewhere you seem to have some knowledge of the spanish game, and you seem deeply offended that anyone thinks Levante are even a half decent side. so surprisingly maybe I thought your opinion amidst all this mentality may count Levante may not be a good Spanish side, but as many comparisons have already been speculated on and considering they have resources at least ten times we have, if you think they'll finish 17th, where do you think Motherwell would finish PS I'd agree that the performance is more depressing than the result, but I think we tried to get a scoreline that ended Levante nil and it didnt work, and thus the performance looked so bad from not at least 'having a go'
-
and just to try and understand where this comparison is relevant can you make one of your educated guesses as to where Motherwell would finish in La Liga with only around 10% of Levantes resources?

sign into MFCtv and you'll get his post match interview

Agree with everything apart from Hump wasnt our best (not bad but not best) and the diving Muzz, as you say the ref was good he didnt allow for any significant amount of that, he even booked one early for trying to get our player booked, the feigning injury and time wasting yes the were at it, and going down easily when only lightly nudged etc yeah (suppose that might be your diving?) but didnt relate to any amount of actual diving in my book on reflection after half a nights sleep, I still cant believe the team are getting slaughtered for a first half performance as being worst ever performance and not up to the Pana performance etc, when to me it was clear they were under instruction, to keep it tight hold lines and not chase out and risk free kicks, not commit fully up the park and risk being left open etc sure it was awful to watch, but the team were only a couple minutes away from achieving that first half goal, hard to say what then would have happened but 0-0 in the first leg would have been one of our best ever european results, shite to watch but a good result going into the second leg sadly the mistake gave them the goal, and makes the first 42 minutes look like a waste of time for everyone. after that the basic mistakes have been well covered, Murphy on left up against two or three, Hammell never venturing beyond him, only two in midfield against stronger opposition, high ball against stronger opposition, Fullbacks sleeping on the job, only really creating two/three chances on goal

Assistants dont normally flag until the player who is in an offside position goes to play the ball, so yes it is played in SPL at the game I never questioned it, was raging Hately and co never challenged the fella who came from onside to play the ball and score although plenty around me in the Cooper were screaming blue murder so I really need to see it
